Well, I'm not happy about this. I reckon the French are letting them out as we're leaving the EU, and they don't give a toss.
Maybe Gary Lineker and Lily Allen can put them up.

Can we return them to France? Or at least sink their dingys in the channel.

Well, I did wonder at which point they go back and at which point they stay here. Is there a half way line across the Channel ?
Is France so bloody awful ?

Can't blame them for seeking a better life but they would be better off in Eire...So much space there they could build at least 10 MK size towns for these people.

Funny how they've managed to cross umpteen borders having started off from the Middle East but found no sanctuary anywhere along the way. This will be another criminal racket going on to supply dirigibles and life jackets for an extortionate price. The migrants themselves are very brave though in truth, I wouldn't fancy crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world in a rubber bathtub......in December !

Pretty convenient that we don't "find" them until they are our side of the water . It does make me laugh how this country is belittled by some on the EU thread yet people are prepared to risk their lives to get here despite having already found safety elsewhere. Must be something good here

I've never understood this at all. What's wrong with the other European countries they cross ? To me it's like offering someone who is roughing it on the streets a 2 bedroom terraced house and they say "bollocks , I want a 4 bed detached." They can fuck off.

They get more free in the UK than anywhere else. Plus they are probably more familiar with the English language than the other European languages.

Just seen that there has been about 80 odd people saved since Christmas Day trying to cross the channel. Madness!

There is a difference between a weak and unstable government and the country as a whole. We are still in the EU. So according to your logic there must be something good about the EU.

Oh fucking hell. Are you going to go on and on about being in the EU on yet another thread. Piss off and do us all a favour.

National security is a shambles. If we can't stop an invasion of flipping inflatables god knows how we would deal with anyone who meant business. I wonder how many 34 year old male schoolboys in the latest batch

We surely still have a navy, get the useless fuckers patrolling the channel and turn them back, if they don't then sink the dingy. If they drown then tough, they made that decision, all we're doing is protecting our own interests.

They're all ready in the safest continent in the world so saying how desperate they're doesn't wash.

Possibly a bit far like but just saying we should defend our boarders.

I tell you what, why don't we have a 2 tier tax system, people who want them here can pay for them, and people who don't want them here, don't pay towards their up keep. Seems fair to me.

Can I not pay for you while I'm at it?

only if people who don't want to pay for illegal wars or minor royals get an exemption from paying for them as well.

Let's shoot anyone on benefits then, that'll sort it out.

Kill all children and pensioners too.

No, that's just stupid! A lot (not all) of pensioners have paid into the system all their life, disabled who can't work and children, should be looked after.
Bone idle fuckers who sit around all day, who can work but choose to have the state pay for them deserve nothing.

Why should I work 60+ hours a week of proper graft, to provide myself with a decent future, when the government are just going to take away any success I have away. Everything over £45k I earn is taxed at 40%. I've worked so hard to get into this position and I see nothing for it. I actually feel sorry for my brother, he works just as hard, runs his own successful business, so has all the stress that goes along with it and gets taxed at 45%. It's crazy.

If you can't make it in this country then you only have yourself to blame.

Edit: Just like to add that my mother is a legal immigrant, I don't want to stop legal migrants who have something to offer, I want to stop illegal immigration.
