Thought Bright a yard off the pace...just not quite match fit. I’m sure he will be an asset when he is. I think he needs to be more disciplined in his position. He wandered all over the forward and midfield lines and left other city players crowded or exposed. When he trains a few weeks with the team this will improve.

Agree with that, he did wander everywhere, but showed in in 60 mins he’s got two good feet and some composure.
Good potential.

On today’s performance though bright looked very bright indeed.

Refreshing that it looks like he has TWO good feet.

Really really flabbergasted how Chaplin is anywhere near our first team. He would struggle in any league two team/national league team.

Can anybody point out any strength he has? Please enlighten me. As I think I have seen every minute he has been on the pitch doing sweet fa home and away.

He runs his socks off

What’s your take on Chaplin?
Does nothing but I feel he could work as a fox in box poacher as he can finish

But he's not fast he's not strong he's not technically special and he's always in shit positions

Offers us nothing as it stands unforuntley. Ppl are right to moan at hiwullaa mistakes bit he's better than Chaplin as he gets in positions to score at the very least

Couple of good callers on the phone in. Martin & Neil (Wonder if they're on here ) Spoke a lot of sense.
Nope I thought they were both being idiots too

They speak politely and come accross as level headed but it's just stupid to keep glossing over problems by saying look where we were 2 years ago

NOONE is saying robin's doing a bad job but it's like no discussion of a bad result is allowed at all.

For what it’s worth, we did our 130 mile round trip as a family today and thought it was a really entertaining game, lots of great play, and a decent atmostphere. Ok we should have scored more but we were a different class to Wimbledon, and if we keep creating such open chances then the goals will come. To be 8th considering almost no investment is a great achievement for this young squad

Consistently inconsistent!

Remember the slufest on a Monday night in 1996 97 at HR. Lost 2-0 that night from memory and can't think of a game against them since where it was good.
Can't remember that, they rarely won at cov . Sure we drew with them that season

Shocking cock up by Hiwula at the end, Chaplin is a waste of money, he doesn't look or play like a striker, Robins has been had with his pants down.

So have loads of our fans who were drooling impatiently for Chaplin to sign.

We did play some good stuff today and looked as good as we have been all season
Only thing is that we were playing bottom of the league at home and we didn’t win

If chaplin is claiming that goal from Thomas he should hang his head in shame.
Talk about desperate

Whatever happened with Hiwula losing his football and then the doors of the clown car falling off to stop us scoring, Bayliss' touch over the defender just before was a little work of art.

I just not sure we dominate vs a team not content to sit back so can't take too many positives from today's game myself

Wimbledon forum pretty much saying they were very lucky to get a point, we cut them open at will time and again, but the finishing was woefull.

If we even had one half decent finisher we would be top 6 in a poor league.

So more or less a return version of what happened at their place in August.

Most bizarre ending to this game I thought today! Can only assume the ref thought their man was trying to time waste but ended up looking in quite some pain!

Ref must have though ‘fuck this I’ve had enough’! Don’t think I’ve seen a stadium emptying for full time as a player is being treated by the medics!

Chaplin playing too deep, I believe he is a decent finisher , but he is sitting too far back and trying to win the ball against 6foot odd defenders... let JCH or Baylis etc do that, hang and goal poach & I do believe he Has the ability to finish ... the pressure of not scoring is making him drop deep and go loooking for the ball, then there is no one on the shoulder of the last man when the ball does go through and is straight to the keeper or out for a goal kick

You believe, evidence suggests he is a poor finisher.

Yep, just what I believe. I do think he has been unlucky early on with some good saves and clos misses ... had a few of them gone in I think we’d be looking at a different player , confidence now is shit I think

Like you say though, just my view... and that of mark robins, and Doyle , and mcnulty. And other cov players who say he is best finisher at the club when interviewed ( although granted , you could argue that they would say that )

Did he blow the whistle or just tell the players? Just saw them start shaking hands.

lots of fans making out that a player who played most on Portsmouth’s subs bench would be our answer to losing a striker that scored 28 goals for us the season before. These are now the same people that keep with the ‘he’ll come good he just needs confidence’ lines because they have to continue to back up the way they acted in August.

Couldn't put anything down yesterday I was frothing at the mouth.
On reflection we played a lot of decent stuff but just couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. The experts always say if you get into the positions to score eventually they will start going in. Hiwulla has been given a run of games up top and i like his work rate but you can't keep missing chance after chance.
The Chaplin question remains but he's being played as a deep 10 when everything we were told was he's a penalty area player. Until we play him there we aren't going to see if he's a goalscorer or not. IMO though he definitely is not a in the hole 10 or a wide player cutting in.
