Subs tend to be left too late and/or are entirely predictable and almost seem decided in advance. So they don't affect the game positively for us. His refusal to ever sub Chaplin is now bordering on idiocy and if Chaplin is too fragile mentally to take being subbed then it says all we need to know about him, and should to MR too. It takes a brave man to accept you may have made a mistake with the transfer, but that is what MR has to be (even though he has roundly criticised Bakayoko and used him as a scapegoat pretty much since he arrived).
i think sometimes you need to give the guy a break and take him out of the firing line. No matter what he does at the moment it isn't good enough and this is showing in his confidenceI don't see it as idiocy at all though. We may disagree as fans, but Chaplin has 4 goals in 5 matches. It sort of makes sense to keep him on. Even if you disagree, it's hardly idiocy is it.

It has.He has 3 goals as the wimbledon goal hasn't been credited to him at this time.
Oh ok, can't find any online source saying he has been credited the goalIt has.
CWR said it had anyway. Eakin said so today.
That's a made up figure. You can't beat him with made up facts
I look at Portsmouth as sort of what we should be looking to do, they got promoted from league 2 in 2017.I'm not sure about sacking him, but my patience is starting to wear very thin.
It's the same errors over and over again, with particularly Chaplin being a blatant favourite that is untouchable.
I don't buy this 'settle for mid table' either. We haven't jumped up to the Premier League. There's zero loyalty in football and building for the future almost never happens because everything is so short term.
We has momentum from the promotion and we should be using that to push on again this year. That will breed success a lot more than meandering around mid-mid-table for several seasons only to end up relegated again.
This is good enough to be top six if just we weren't so embarrassingly bad in front of goal. That's the hardest thing for me to accept.
Are you thick? I don't know and neither do you so therefore you can't beat a manager up about some made up transfer fees. The most pertinent transfer related fact is that he had to sell his top scorer in the summer. How much then? Did he or did he not spend more than any manager in the past 6/7 years?
3 goals from open play is what is worrying about chaplin, and two of them were tap ins.Chaplin has 7 in 24 , hardly breaking records but we’ve had a lot worse .
Over a season it’s 13/14 goals and it’s his first full season really in his career .
We also need goal contributions from elsewhere from the wide and middle men and the odd defender scoring a header from corners .
It’s unfair to pin all our problems on Chaplin

Agree. I have constantly defended Chaplin and continue to do so.
I honestly believe he will come good. He's still young and will develop I'm sure.

Then pull him out of the firing line for a few games
So which one is it? He has either wasted that money on players that aren’t good enough/weren’t what we needed or spent it wisely but hasn’t used them in the right way. It’s got to be one of the two hasn’t it?
If that’s the case it’s a big worry. FWIW I think all 4 of those strikers offer something and are worthy of a place in a L1 squad. Just not as any team’s 4 first choice strikers.
None of those confirmed at all.

Bring him backThink he made it clear that he wasn't forced to sell him but decided to do it because of what McNulty's agent was saying. Not necessarily the wrong thing to do but he didn't have to sell him.
Not bad for a bloke of 5ft 6.only 3 all season from open play and 2 of those with his head!
Someone definitely touched itI've seen that Wimbledon goal numerous times and they're clearly trying to build Chaplins confidence awarding him that as he definitely doesn't touch it. Of the 3 he did score one a penalty and one a free kick. We're constantly told he's a great fi usher but only 3 all season from open play and 2 of those with his head!

Look at Lincoln City sitting pretty on top of L2 they have had 17 different goal scorers in the league with John Akinde their top scorer with 10 goals,
Our trouble is not Chaplin not scoring it is nobody is scoring, change the man and we still don't score enough, none of them are good enough.

We were right in line and it definitely deviated. Me and my mate both immediately called it when it went in.
There was a definite deflection. It was subtle, but did happen.
We saw the ball ever so slightly change direction. Didn't know it was Chaplin at the time, mind.
