Hi people of 2014! I’m from the future! A dystopian future of reality star Presidents and mass social division.

I’m here to tell you:

- Media coverage garners nothing but vague sympathy from some other fans and has no influence on the decision makers
- This also applies to protests, we blew our load on a big protest to no effect.
- We will not get people to fill a ground, unless that ground holds about 10k.
- Fisher won’t resign
- Joy won’t sell the club
- We aren’t a big enough political force to move the needle with CCC
- There’s a rugby club owing the Ricoh now! They don’t care either!
- Game of Thrones goes really off the boil
I was hovering over the like button till that last one.

Why should it bother you so much? To you, your club is dead, gone finished forever. That is fine, that is your view. To me it is the same club and one that is hopefully flourishing. As to you CCFC will be dead and your interest in football greatly curtailed as you stated above, surely what deluded people like myself believe won’t make any difference to you. You could perhaps stand outside the Ricoh with a placard saying “You know this isn’t the real Coventry City” I suppose if it really bothered you that much.

You really think a team in the same league as cov United is going to play at the ricoh?

Like I said, you have been listening to some nonsense. I'm just pointing out the fact that it wouldn't be ccfc and they wouldn't have won the fa cup.

I wouldn't have gone to see them with my dad, he wouldn't have gone to see them with his dad. You could have 250000 people tell me that cov sphinx is ccfc and id tell them all bollocks.

You didn't answer about sphinx and the fa cup?

Have you been to a Tony Robbins meeting tonight?

What happens if two clubs are setup? How do we decide which is ccfc?

Is it highest attendance? Highest league?

Seems like it's based on "what the majority think".

The point I'm making though is that its not even mentioned. I'd happily help pay for and help distribute flyers as would many but this regime is more about ideas to try and hurt one party or another rather than promote what we have. Would it fill the ground probably not but ud rather go down trying that than protesting to groups who don't care about us. 20k crowds u til the end of the season would make people notice and some might even get the bug back.
I’d be all for bigger gates and yes I think it would send out a message about how big a club we are. The meeting tonight was open to anyone and all ideas were listened to and collected. I’m sure your idea would have had the same respect given to it. Lots of speakers tonight said that pressure neede to be put on the council and on Wasps. It was stated by a few that Wasps are far more likely to back down than Sisu and that meetings should try to be arranged between them and fan groups to try and broker a deal. The Trust, as far as I can see, is made up of ordinary well meaning fans doing their best for the club.

Negativity hasn't worked in the many forms tried over the past 10 years so how about being positive for once.
What positive about being at the Ricoh next season.
There has been little done this season as far as protests or anything else this season very few sisu out chants at games very little of anything.
Where has that got us nowhere ether.
I don't mind being positive but what is there to be positive about EVERY thread on here is negative.

You thinking of setting up a rival one then? Hopefully none of this will happen and the club that we all recognise as CCFC will somehow survive Wasps, CCC and Sisu.

This has been done remember it getting rubbished on here.
Remember handing them out at Notts County away a few seasons back.

I was at the Cheltenham game with 4 others as it's a close one for me. None of us would travel to Cov to see new club unless the circumstances were exceptional. To me that means anything and everything has been done to save the club we have, at the moment a lot of people on social media seem to relish the idea of a new club and I couldn't stomach supported the same team as people that delighted in the death of the one we have in a vain attempt at getting one over on our owners.
I don’t think anyone at the meeting tonight was hoping for the death of the club. It was stated by several that this would be an awful thing to happen. The Phoenix idea was only raised if the club we know was liquidated.

Where did I say that?

I am trying to figure out at what point it can be classed as ccfc? You said it's based on opinion.

If my opinion was that Birmingham city were ccfc would that work?

If you look at my reply to CJ a few posts back it mentions people on their socials going on about golden share and a new club. The Trust could start sorting this shit out by telling those people that they need to focus on saving City. They won't though.

Flyers to persuade people to go to city games?
That's the difference. Other flyers bemoan about owners the club etc etc it should be positive flyers Ba k the team get up the Ricoh show everyone how much we care.

I went up the City with my dad. I go up the City with my sons. I hope to be going up the City with my grandkids. If the only alternative is the continuation of the City under a slightly different name then so be it.
Sphinx and Cov United are different clubs no matter what colour they play in. I don’t support them (like them to do well as they are Coventry teams) and never will.
Don’t know who Tony Robbins is.
You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. Now that is a fact.

Said it many times, there's no interest.

There's plenty of "we will take it on board" but it all goes back round to shouting at sisu aimlessly. Every time.

Coventry city and Coventry United have slightly different names.

You aren't getting it, a phoenix club will be a different club to ccfc. That's not an opinion.

I think that their is a lot of rubbish spoken on social media often by very few people. At all the Trust meetings I have been to I have never heard anyone promoting ideas like these. As I mentioned above, the only thing I see at these meetings are people with a genuine love and passion for City, no other agenda.

Fuck me you talk some shit.
You go on about positivity there are 4 Negative threads alone on the first page started by you.
Instead of just rubbishing everything and trying to hammer a wedge between the fans have a day off and reflect.
BTW I am a CCFC supporter and would not be happy with a Phoenix Club but as one bloke said what choice would you actually have if CCFC does go pop.

But those meetings have 100 people in the room, they are not challenging open bullshit that is seen by thousands on socials.

You keep saying I talk shit but you don't seem to ever correct me or even try.

I am hammering a wedge because I don't agree with a phoenix club and point out factually it won't be ccfc? Hows that then?

It's ironic really.

Do you want to discuss the trust and hammering a wedge? I can go all day with the season ticket holders are nobs stuff if you want. There's ample material for me to use. You don't seem to have an issue with that.

I'm baffled you think it's hammering a wedge because I don't agree that a new club is ccfc (which it isn't)

No, it's fact.

You really aren't understanding. That's not how opinions work.

If I say my car is a Ferrari, it doesn't make it one. Imagine me going to show my mates and saying "it's your opinion its not. My opinion is that it is".

There you go again. You want to know what to do. I said they should promote others going rather than protesting. Yes point was not about their personal support but the crazy idea if filling the ground with supporters not even mentioned. But hell yeah lets have a protest or form a Phoenix club or ask timmy to resign or lobby the council. All pointless.
They know they can't fill the ground just like they can't get a total boycott.
Btw you do realise all these other ideas you brought up came from supporters not the trust.
You keep harping on about a Phoenix Club everyone said they didn't want this but that it might happen.
And why did the supporter ask Tim to resign and what did he ask him to resign from?

So it's the following;
Let's boycott the games to save CCFC
Which Phoenix team is CCFC?
Let's fill the ground with City fans
Let's have a demo somewhere in London. You decide where.
Well that's the club saved guys. Nothing more needs to be done, problem solved.

Congrats m8. You’ve left yourself open to the ‘at least we’re doing something’ crowd...

You are both right though, Nick.

Officially, of course it wouldn't be Coventry City FC, but it's all about fan perception too and if CCFC went bust and we started a new club formed from the ashes of the old club it would most definitely still be Coventry City to me.

And my guess is to many, many thousands more.

So, you are both right.

If enough fans said it, can it be perceived that sphinx are ccfc and won the fa cup?

Course not. Sphinx are an entirely different club. they were formed in 1946.

But if a daft analogy that, Nick. :)

Would love to hear of other clubs that went bust and reformed and how their fans felt and feel about their new club and if they still feel it is the same club.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I bet loads do and probably the majority.
