Apparently when you do a survey or quiz there’s always about 5% that pick a stupid answer. Whole host of possible reasons: entry error, misunderstanding the question, taking the piss, and of course actually being an idiot.

Normal distribution of data, looks like a bell when you plot it. Most things are on a bell curve, height, weight, intelligence. Just what you’d expect an average distribution to be.

I'll stick to tally charts.

Doesn't tend to work very well for economic data, as it's so unevenly distributed, and also age doesn't work well especially in global terms.

When they released the raw data only 1% had clearly indicated the didn't believe it happened, 3% said they didn't know. Chuck them together with a bit of creative rounding and you have your headline!!
