Maybe I'm reading that wrong but it sounds like that is down to Doyle not Robins? Reads as the other players got told they up for moves and let everyone know via the group chat, Doyle got told and only told his close mates. On the day of the transfer Doyler was doing a school visit for the club so all appeared normal
The other players who left on deadline day told the rest of the squad via group chat but most found out about Doyle like the rest of us
Only a few of his close mates in the team knew in advance of the announcement
Don't have more than that
Don't really know how to interpret it, that's just what happenedMaybe I'm reading that wrong but it sounds like that is down to Doyle not Robins? Reads as the other players got told they up for moves and let everyone know via the group chat, Doyle got told and only told his close mates.
Feel gutted for him if he had no choice in the matter and wasn't consulted with prior to the decision being made for him to go, especially if he wanted to stay.Don't really know how to interpret it, that's just what happened
Most of his team mates were as surprised as us
he was under contract of course he had a choice in the matter?Feel gutted for him if he had no choice in the matter
Officially, sure, but the reality is you can be frozen out and he obviously wanted to play.he was under contract of course he had a choice in the matter?
By who?he was forced out
Just passing on what I've heardBy who?
Not arguing that. Would genuinely like to know by who and why!Just passing on what I've heard
Obvious something has been wrong for months, how can a fit doyler not get into the starting 11, he's whats needed on the pitchNot arguing that. Would genuinely like to know by who and why!
Obvious how? He got dropped when mistakes started creeping into his average at best performances and Robins finally realised you can't build a L1 team around a player that slow.Obvious something has been wrong for months, surely a bust up
The captain of our team and influential in getting us up last season, the way he's been treated is a joke. Could deffo still do a job for usObvious how? He wanted to play every week, he wasn't going to get that here in L1 and we've been good enough to release him from his contract so that his career doesn't end in a damp fizzle with the promise of coaching when he's done playing. And he's managed to get himself an 18 month contract. Sounds like a bloody good deal for everyone.
There seems to have been a sudden bout of amnesia in our fan base. Did nobody see the performances he put in that lead to him being dropped?
See, I'd definitely say there was a place for him in the squad, if not a regular starter.I am massive Doyle fan bit it was clear this year that time had caught up with him.
Cost us at least 2 goals with mis placed passes as he tired in games and his lack of mobility was pulling other players too deep in order to cover for him.
Really hope he comes back on the coaching staff and proves worthy of a crack at the mangers job one day but his CCFC playing career was clearly over.
The way he's been treated? He was kept in the team week in week out as he performances got worse and he cost us goals. Its not like he was MOTM every week and Robins suddenly chucked him out the side. The captain of our team and influential in getting us up last season, the way he's been treated is a joke. Think he means in terms of this allegation that Doyle didn't want to leave and was begging to stay, but was 'forced' out.The way he's been treated? I no it's stating the obvious, they're ALL struggling at this level. He had been poor this season though. Clearly struggling at this higher level.
Stop being me. GrrrrI no it's stating the obvious, they're ALL struggling at this level.
Same way he was forced out when he went to Sheff Utd when he wasn't first choice in his original spell here? People seem to have forgotten about him describing his loan at Leeds as The 'best year of my life'.Think he means in terms of this allegation that Doyle didn't want to leave and was begging to stay, but was 'forced' out.
Yup, but McShufty said it and then a couple of people on here have said the same thing. I like Doyle but I thought we were right to let him go the first time and it was the right time again now. The way some people are carrying on is embarrassing. Never thought we'd top the histrionics over Baker but I've been proved wrong.

Doesn't make it true of course
Yeah, I know, but this is all combined with the supposed falling out between the two.But what if he was? Robins has to manage the squad as he sees fit.
I'm sure one day Doyle will be a manager and he will have unpopular decisions to make.
Yeah, I know, but this is all combined with the supposed falling out between the two.
Yep. That was. But others have said something different to the drink driving suggestion.weren't they supposed to have fallen out due to Doyle getting a drink driving conviction?
Hasn't that turned out to be bollocks?
He will manage Coventry City one day, might be sooner than we think.
...enter pantomime villain to a chorus of boos. He makes a snidey remark, and exits stage with a smug look on his face. Only later did he realise his error in leaving a superfluous 'r' in the middle of the former managers name. Damn the spelling police he muttered under his breath. The next Garry Mcallister - how exciting
The DD was complete fabrication, but there was disagreement over general direction and of course not being in the team, although I'd be disappointed in them both if that wasn't the case - Doyle should have been disappointed in being out of the team and Robins was right to hold firm if he believes that's the correct decision, anything else shows little backbone, providing it's kept professional of course. I believe other things were promised that haven't materialised too, but that's a different matter.weren't they supposed to have fallen out due to Doyle getting a drink driving conviction?
Hasn't that turned out to be bollocks?
Could deffo still do a job for us
Yet won more games when he was in the team than when he wasn't....It's been demonstrated this season that he couldn't, well at least couldn't without significant detriment to the way Robins is trying to play.
