Managers often claim they never go into a game looking for a draw. Realistically MR should be looking for a draw against Luton as they genuinely look unstoppable. Just had a glance over their last month of fixtures and even when they've played poorly and created little they've still scored. Our erratic behaviour in front of goal could once again cost us here - cliche I know but the only way I can see us winning is if we score more than them and (despite Walsall result) we're hardly the most prolific side in the league.

Their goalscoring record is silly stuff. They've nearly scored double the amount of league goals than we have already this season.

they'll definitely be as strong, I think the more pertinent question is will we be as weak?
I don't think we will, I reckon we'll give them a much tougher game than at the Ricoh. Whether that will be enough, we'll see.

I think we will win this one. The problem is I always think we will win every game. I think that Luton are the best team to visit the Ricoh this season, but I think we are a better team now than then. One of the main reasons for this is the acquisition of Enobakhare who I think is a tremendous player. Everything now seems to go through him. He will take the ball in really tight areas and seems unfazed by it and will usually do something positive. Such a good player on the ball, skilful and athletic. At the moment his chances of getting into the Wolves team are really limited. I wonder what the possibility would be of getting him on loan again next season or even on a permenant basis? Limited chance I would think.
I also think Kelly has been a really positive force since returning from injury. I don’t know if he played in the first game. I really like Doyle but I think we have been better with Kelly in there.
I also believe that Bakayoko is an improvement on JCH although both himself and Hiwula have to be more consistent. Last season I had a tenner on us to win 2-0 and was sitting pretty until Nazon added the third (the only City goal I have never celebrated). I have learned my lesson so will have ten pounds on us to win. If I was betting, I would go for 2-0 again.

Hopefully be a good game despite the drowse inducing kick-off time. Hopefully some good atmosphere will be generated - we, Luton have sold out so only 400 tickets left with you to make it a full house. You sound quite confident on here in the main, like every game it starts off even. No one as really laid a glove on us for the last few months, Portsmouth second half, Barnsley were our equal probably and a good team. Not much point in predicting a score as I will get it wrong. Just know we have a team that is way more than the sum of its parts - and that some of those parts are very good in their own right

You were in just as good form last year and iirc you were 9/10 unbeaten? We were in poor form at the time and really struggling for goals. I'll take a repeat of that score line.

You're right we've definitely come on leaps and bounds but unfortunately the same can be said for Luton as well really. As a unit they've clearly improved over their unbeaten league run but they've also added a good selection of players to bolster their squad just as we did during the January window - one of which has been in prolific form since he was brought in (Moncur).

Aahh, if only it was like that, every game is a battle. We have got better since Jones went, the squad are unbelievably together - Jones got them in shape but was also an obsessive and it was a lot about him. I think they are loving doing it themselves with Mick Harford as a kindly uncle. Also the change really came in October when we got a new coach in, since then we have not lost and our performance and fitness are up 20%. As I mentioned, we have a great TEAM, the back four are awesome, midfield creative and fierce and we have plenty of goals. We have a subs bench that would get in any other team. That of course does not mean that on any day anything can happen, we only had a couple of shots at Fleetwood on Saturday (we were still the better team) and one goal was a terrible screw up from their keeper. Moncur has been amazing in his two sub appearances and one start so far, four goals in about 110 mins - real cracker on Sat - watch out if we get a free kick near the goal

I remember years ago United were on an unbeaten start to the season. Think they'd won 10 or 11 on the bounce.
We went to O/T and I was convinced we'd win. In those days you couldn't have a single on a football match but Ladbrokes were offering a bet, who'd be the first to stop United, so I stuck a tenner on us, (lot of money for me in those days!).
Needless to say we got fuckin' hammered.

Yes, seven wins and two draws before we played you last season and then bang. We do have a much better side this tie round - it has just simply gelled but only a fool predicts a results with any confidence

I think you know what you're getting with Luton, a very good team with amazing consistency, which Cov turns up will key. We'll need to be near our best to have half a chance and we'll need to put an end product to all the fancy stuff.

I think we've got the opportunity to make a mark in this game, as we seem to be up for it against the better teams and get more opportunity to play. But I just have a feeling MR will see their free scoring ways and go a bit more defensive than usual, which IMO is playing into their hands. We'll probably have Burge back in goal and I'm not entirely convinced on how solid our left is defensively regardless of whoever he puts in.

If we do lose I think it'll be by 2 or 3 goals. If it's a close run thing we'll get at least a draw.

I was there last year and we took them apart! Not changed their approach since even with the manager changing and i believe that they can be beaten by expansive patient football breaking through the middle
