Watching Biamou highlights from last season you realise what a huge miss he is this season, never mind McNulty. Can't wait to see him fit again and adding a genuine and intelligent attacking threat...something to look forward to that's for sure!

He'll be a welcome addition once he's back next season. May not start but will be an excellent outlet for MR to use as a 'Plan B'

It does seem to be a difficult injury to recover from if you look at the way it has not only affected Andreu and Jones but Brown and Ogogo too. Hopefully Max will be an exception and be up to speed soon into the new season. Despite what certain posters say, (most having decided he was useless after a few performances and can’t bear to change their minds despite the evidence in front of them), he has been a bid loss this season.

This might be a slightly unpopular opinion, but I think this is another player that's gained a bit of a reputation by not playing.

There's no question that he had improved loads, and he was showing to be an asset. That being said, this is another striker that has missed sitter after sitter and our team is quite frankly full of them already.

I like him and think he does have a place in a the squad. He is in reality, another non-scoring striker though.

It'll be nice to see him back if for nothing else than he's that bit different to everyone else we've got. If he's used like he was with McNulty we could see anyone one of Hiwula, Chaplin or baka improve their goalscoring rate, on the proviso that they're played as a front two.

But most importantly it's important we don't bring him back too soon. He's not a small man and that's going to put pressure on the knees. At least he's not one looking to turn quickly, which is even worse, but he does have a penchant for acrobatic finishes It would be great if he's ready for pre-season, because if not he'll be playing catch-up all season and would probably spend the season doing cameo's, a bit like JJ was doing before his relapse.

That's not an unfair assessment. From his POV, I fear the season out will set back any progress he had been making. Hope not, as he was a different option.

Scored 3 of our best 5 goals last season, that in itself speaks volumes.

God goals don't get you promoted, an abundance of them does and he scored 5 in the league in total, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

I liked what he offered and showed a level of improvement but that improvement was at L2 level, not a L1 level.

Goals dont get promoted - but you dont count the goals he scored against Notts county that did help us get promoted
Even if you say 5 league goals - then you also fail to remember which other great scored 5 in his first season with us

You are correct, how could I blight Max by not comparing him to a great like Cyrille who had over 100+ goals in 290 games before he joined us and 60+ goals after joining us, I hope Max delivers the same for us following such a year 1 start in a lower league

I agree he looks better the longer he's out, particularly when we're not scoring. Similar on that level to Ponti. However:

Made a lot of space for Sparky - who scored a lot more with than without him, no coincidence
It was his first full contract as a full-time league pro-footballer
Massively better at the end of the season than the start (would have been more worrying the other way)
Most of his goals also scored latter part of the season
2 goals in play-offs under 'other' so 5 goals is harsh. Also scored the goal at MK in the cup that began the hype and momentum. All 9 should count if we're comparing fairly
Scored some spectacular goals (overheads) important goals (play-offs) and long range efforts (Yeovil). If he can add a couple of tap ins then as a second striker with all that he offers outside of goals then I think he'll be a real asset.

It’s true he came good towards the end but he was utter tripe in the first 2/3rds of last season. I fear the worst as he clearly had the momentum from last season going into this season and that has now gone and he will be starting from scratch again at a higher level. Combine that with the injury and I think that could spell the end as I fear he won’t get up to that level again.

Mcnulty scored the same goals with him as without him - May have been 1 more

Yes but it needs to be in the context of how many games McNulty played alongside each player.
