If Burge sees Daleks everywhere it explains the insane runs out of goal
To be fair, we're run by a bunch of vashta nerada so it's possible (just to follow the doctor who theme)

For anyone who doesn't know, I find the online definition of the vashta nerada wholly apt in its reflection of our owners...

"The Vashta Nerada are ravenous hunters able to strip the meat from a body with a frightening speed and efficiency. They tend to avoid light, often concealed in patches of dark that resemble shadows"

London Wasps lose.

I had the Wasps game on TV in the background but was glued to the stoppage time praying the referee would say no try - which of course he did

Been feeling rough all day but that result and the Sky Blues win made me feel a lot better

Really pleased with a ground out 1-0 away from home, against a difficult side. A team who were head and shoulders above everyone in L2 last season.

It’s hard not to get a little excited now, would be even more so had we not thrown away a raft of points in that run of 4 games against Wimbledon, Blackpool, Gillingham and Plymouth. 4 poor sides who were there for the taking. In an ideal world we’d be 10 points better off and already sitting pretty (although I’m sure most sides would counter the same argument).

Well done MR, whatever happens between now and the end of the season you’ve made our first season back in League 1 an entertaining one. PUSB.

Depending if he's fit enough I'd replace Meyler for Bright and push Bayliss into the CAM role. I fear in a game like this against a physical side Bright will be closed down far too easily as shown in the Luton match. It's not likely to be a game where he'll be given much space or time on the ball as if I remember rightly Accrington like to press. Considering he never looks up whilst on the ball he'll be useless in a game like this. (Watch him have a worldie now I've said that)

For the second season in succession, despite really difficult behind the scenes circumstances, we have something positive to play for in March with less than a quarter of the season to go. I look forward to the results, when I can't get to the game, because I think we should beat anybody at home, and get at least a draw away. The last time this was the case was 1967, when the real Gibbo was in the midfield.
We owe an awful lot to Robins who took over a sinking ship. He has a lot of credits in the bank against when it gets sticky, as it will. It may not be pretty, but we have a tight defence, which he appears to see as the bedrock. Luton may have come up with us and advanced more since, but they started their changes a year before us, so we are on track (on the pitch at least).
And let's hear it for loan players. They are absolutely crucial at our level and are used by virtually every team. They are just part of the mix, just don't be too dependent on them. Robins and team have been good at identifying loan players, and they develop under him. Loans are a good source for speed on the flanks, which everyone craves.
The planning assumption for next year must be a loan replacement for Sterling plus another creative player.

3 poor results and he will have knives in his front and back. I am pleased we have picked up but it shouldn't detract from the inability to see out games before and after the new year.
