Come on. A pro goalie should be able to kick a ball away with either foot
Not like it was fizzed at him either, would have barely reached the goal it was hit so softly. If it had been Stockdale who had made that mistake I don't think anyone would be mentioning the pass back.

Perhaps because they already weren't waiting to crucify him. Half a dozen dreadful cross field balls yesterday in the fiest half and then Burge kicked one into touch and the groans far more audible. Again I'm not excusing Burge's performance, but I think some were almost pleased when he messed up so that they could vent their spleen.

It was a terrible mistake that lost us the game no one is saying anything else. But you’d have given me hell if I’d passed a ball back between the posts to kev’s left foot

Yep absolutely and notice he followed it up with the pass to Davies strraight out of play

I tried to put it in a way you might understand. I have not blamed the forwards for Burge's mistake (and it was undeniably dreadful) at Walsall.
To clarify, what I meant was that if JCH had scored when he was clear through on goal and hit it past the post (or a couple of the other pretty good chances, including another one missed by Thomas) BEFORE the clanger, then it would never have happened, and who knows where we would be now....
The pity is, football is all about what-ifs, what should have beens, etc. Today's results, with Peterboro and Doncaster losing make it all the more annoying that we didn't win last night.

Burge error st Walsall was the equivalent of a striker missing from two yards not hitting a post from 15 yards having run half the length of the pitch before shooting

Accept that he has cost us far too many times this season and we are quite rightly annoyed. We should be in the play offs through many reasons but goalkeeping is a clear problem. He can not perform basic things like commanding his area, catching basic crosses, kicking and distribution. He makes a decent save per game and some on here make him out to be Gordon Banks. Its not that people are pleased he messes up its the frustration that he has done it again. Since he returned just 3 games ago he has cost us 2 goals that led to lost points. By all means defend him but I can only believe its blind faith rather than you truly believing he is competent for this level.

That's not at all what I've said. I actually stated his performance indefensible but equally the ironic pathetic cat calling for the rest of the game was beyond ridiculous by supposed supporters.

Agree ... except that just 30 secs before that he saved one equivalent to hitting a screamer in from 25 yards. If that goes in and he doesn't flap at the other then nobody comments but the result the same.

He's 26 now and should be in his prime, not fucking about like an U18 player. Thinks he's better than the Club, so fuck him and his agent right off
A goalkerpers prime bis about 32. He is still relatively young but again that's not defending basic errors like last night.

What have I missed?!

I believe Rob9872 has him on ignore. So he thinks it’s clever to hurl absurd abuse at him knowing he will not see it.

Except he didn't get an assist.

You could also argue his goal is balanced out given that he was largely responsible for the first.

Take the tinted glasses off. He's been well below par.

I’ve been consistently saying that Bayliss has been let off the hook with average performances. But since Xmas and New Year, he’s played some very good football.

However, he played pretty well against Burton. Defensively he was better than average, got a goal and out Thomas through brilliantly. As for their first goal, our defending was terrible on that play, Mason and Davies should’ve done better and to prove my point, we were lucky to not have conceded a very similar goal moments later. Frankly, Robins would almost certainly place the blame on the defence as opposed to Bayliss and thankfully, it’s his opinion that counts.

The red card on 55 minutes made things very difficult for us, especially as Burton played with 10 men behind the ball. Burge really did do it in for us with a catalog of mistakes this particular game.

How old were Kirkland/Westwood/Pickford/Carson/Schmicheal/Hart/DeGea when they were regulars in the Premier League to name a few? Burge is a veteran compared to these examples. If you are good enough you are old enough. Burge isn’t.

Burge didn't do what he's paid to do, and neither did JCH, irrespective of how far the poor cherub had to run before blasting it wide.

I generally hate footballers and their scripted social media posts after a game but Burge has infuriated me since the Worcester debacle when rather than apologize for pretty much single handedly condemning the club possibly its most embarrassing ever defeat he deleted his Twitter page. Further silence after Walsall away this year and I'm fully expecting further silence tonight. One thing everyone has loved the last 12 months is the connection between the players and supporters. It feels like Burge thinks he's above the club.
I wouldn’t blame any player for deleting social media accounts. Just imagine the amount of abuse that Burge would be getting if he had kept it open. If I was a player I would avoid all social media including this forum.

Of course it was a mistake by Burge. His confidence is already low and our support is not helping in any way. Just seems to me that our fans happily let the mistakes of others go without comment but are always happy to put the boot into the latest boo boy. These supporters also quickly forget the great performances by the same player during their time with the club - to me Burgey is not the answer but deserves at least some respect for his amazing performances at the back end of last season with Notts County away as the best example. I know it will not be given.
To have reasoned views like yours means that you will be whistling in the wind with some on here. If we lose we must have been crap. If we win we were great. Last week at Accrington the performance was uninspiring to say the least but we won. Friday’s game in effect hinged on the miss by Thomas. If he scores, the pattern of play changes, Bright stays on and we probably win. Comments on here would then be totally different.

It is, but I'd close it if I was him. It's one thing slagging him off and having opinions, but half the idiots @ him like they think that will help! He doesn't even have to search for the abuse when they put his account in it. Clueless.

Don't agree with personally abusing him.

People venting / commenting about it is a different thing though. People are bound to have left / been fuming about it on Friday.

Always keen to get on here telling everyone ‘you are right’ and no one else knows as much as you. Shame you are not as quick to get on and apologise for such a disgusting and unnecessary post. This shows your true colours and shows you as the man or child you are: uninformed, uneducated, crude and crass.
I hope the moderator(s) on here have taken you to task but if not then shame on them also. Your only additional response on here is to say you were drunk and had forgotten you had posted ‘lol’. As if that is any defence.
I wonder how you will respond; with a little contrition or an expletive filled ‘look at me’ rant. Over to you Big Boy.

Ha - guess I can see what I missed now, thx for quoting. Apparently I'm Nazi scum for being pro-Brexit and my "disgusting" comments were a joke about Sala the Cardiff striker and the kind many of us received I imagine on WhatsApp. I don't miss the wumming, but I do find his obsession strange.

As I say...your true colours.
Standing up against Nazis is one thing but indiscriminately labelling people a Nazi (without I guess understanding anything about Fascism or National Socialism) is another. And the expletives that accompany it...
If you don’t get it then fine. I’m not debating your inadequacies with you.
Take care
