Oh, it also explains the "Desperation" and what was being built up to doesn't it?
Can see why people went into "overdrive" in the past few weeks, exactly the same as when the Higgs news and others was coming.
As others have said if SISU are spouting more shit, then the council need to call their bluff now. No media arguments or PR campaigns. Just say they will negotiate in good faith on the premise of the above statement.
There are two balls in the council court
Call their bluff,
Or
Do nothing.... I suspect that is what they will do
Statement should play well to other clubs when it comes a vote though

Not sure it will change much for ccc

If only this all could be taken on face value. It seems a reasonable response from sisu. However, we all know the history. Fingers crossed the grown ups can work something out for the good of the club. I can genuinely never envision a sisu built ccfc stadium though. As much as I'd welcome it.
Crucially Seppala said SISU will drop all legal action against Coventry City Council IF
In the document, SISU say this offer has been on the table, but have so far failed to find agreement.
- Councillors support a brand new stadium development within the city "on reasonable terms" and
- They can agree a deal with Wasps to stay at the Ricoh Arena until the new stadium is completed.
I assume this has been through lawyers several times and they therefore have documents to back up all the claims made.
Between early 2012 and August 2012, ACL continued to receive full rent, dropping to an agreed reduced amount from August onwards. In total, from late March 2012 to March 2013, ACL received over £850,000 in rental payments, which whilst not the full total of the £1.3m rent, was significantly higher than any other League 1 and Championship football club rents. Without match-day income (which all went to ACL), it was all the Club could afford to pay.
Not out of the question. London Wasps are definitely in trouble and if we had our own home the Ricoh would fall to the council and be a cash drain or be knocked down.To be fair they could put pressure on the council by naming the sites they allegedly had ready to buy. We can see whether it was pie in the sky ideas or whether the council are being dicks.
One thing I can think of is if we build a new stadium and Wasps go tits up, they’re scared the Ricoh will be a white elephant. Therefore not in the councils interest
It's as simple as that isn't it?
With things like the Butts the council said they would help out if the legals were dropped, there's the offer to have them dropped in return for a bit of help.
Obviously if SISU expect the council to pay for it for SISU to own it all then it isn't classed as "reasonable terms".
Over to the council to call their bluff.
I did notice a line about EFL regulations restricting where they could build the new ground. I wonder how far away they were considering.
Boundaries | Maps | Coventry City CouncilI bet the council are feeling extremely uncomfortable now trying to find the words to put this back in SISUs court and shift blame.
Would a site in another councils district be too far away? Warwickshire councils land comes pretty much to the edge of the city, doesn’t it?

It reads to me like an olive branch, however it reads as if they have been saying that to the council / wasps and they still aren't having it
If that offer has been on the table, why wouldn't the council explore it at least?
Yep, either there is a Vendetta against the club/sisu or there is something Sisu are hiding. One is just as likely as the other.
Why would you drop the legals after all this time and money, think its more of in a few weeks , Sisu will have nowhere to play and maybe the court case will have ran its course , What terms can the council offer?, Think SISU are in Last chance saloon , but if they did sell I think the council would still hinder the football club the way they have Coventry city center nightlife the last 30 years
Sisu don't play anywhere. They have an office in kensington. CCFC will have nowhere to play.

Ha ha ha ha ha. You'll struggle to get a house built there let alone a football stadiumWhat about the King's Hill area just near Stoneleigh? That is in Warwick District Council, but adjacent to the CCC boundary, and they are planning on building 1500 houses there. Could include a stadium. There is also the Warwickshire Gateway site between the A45 and the airport - this is in Warwick District too, and a massive area of development ...
Because the council are a bunch of clowns in way over their heads and it's just us and them now.It reads to me like an olive branch, however it reads as if they have been saying that to the council / wasps and they still aren't having it
