It’s ok chaps Theresa May has said there is no link between police cuts and an increase in knife crime. Phew well we can cut some more then

Stick as many police on the streets as you like then what? No great punishments that I see and no real rehabilitation opportunities so just a stagnant huge prison population continuing gang life in the inside. Either use the big stick or the big carrot but use one. This half way house of holeing people up in prison with zero discipline and more drugs than a 90's nightclub is ridiculous.

Recent immigration is adding to the problem. The amount of incredibly violent gang members made up of recent African immigrants is an uncomfortable fact that can't be ignored. What is being done to prevent people who came here to work and live a dream from ending up in that situation?

See Macca's post. That has a lot of decent points, particularly about immigration from third world countries.

Equally you have the social issue too. Poverty and shit parenting.

Police cuts haven't helped but that's treating the symptoms, not the disease.
Spot on and don't forget the do gooders (few on here) that protested about stop and search and not forgetting its against human rights to jail some scum for 5 years if they are caught carrying a knife. Just a shame that its not the do gooders and members of their families that are the victims.

Can you tell me when a government tried to introduce a 5 yeah minimum term for carrying a knife and how the human rights act thwarted it?

Ha, to be fair I was just going off the app on my phone telling me late last night I think it was.

It was still being reported as the gang stabbing when I first saw it this morning, nice that it's a slightly less shit story in the end.

It is going to end up on the same level as when went to a new barbers for the first time and let him give me a shave thinking it was meant to be a pleasant, smooth experience.

Not making light of all the stabbings going on. But in the Daily Mirror this week they showed an article from the 1950's which was about a knife amnesty that had been introduced to stop youths carrying and using flick knives. I was shocked to see that, as I thought it was a modern menace. But I remember the mods and rockers stabbing each other on Bank Holiday fights at seaside resorts in the 60's. So nothing new then ?

You really are a horrid individual aren’t you? Stop and search doesn’t work that’s why it’s not done

Lol why the ?..............It does work but thanks to pansy boys like you its a no no............
Course it doesn’t work. And what makes you think treating the cause than the symptom is easy. It’s like the idiots that say violence beats violence it’s just bollox. Love is the only thing that beats hate. Violence begets violence but hey when did human kind Ever learn from its mistakes. You’ve got a big punch I’ll come at you with a knife you come at me with a gun I come at you with a bigger one. When will we realise that doesn’t work!!!! Ffs

I don't get that though.

If people know they might be searched at random and would be sent straight to jail it's more offputting.

Is it Mayweather who gets lads to sort their issues in the ring rather than with gangs and guns?

The gypsys have the right idea for sorting things

Yeah, need a girlfriend? Grab her by the hair and drag her back to your caravan

I’d have door staff with the metal detecting wands on all clubs and bars especially in City centres.
Then when I was in Aus I’m pretty sure all the clubs had the above and a system where to gain entry you had produce photo ID which they scanned and had an upper body photo taken of the person that night, so going into that premises (and outside) they knew who you were, what you were wearing etc so if an incident occurs they’d have a positive ID. I thought it was a brilliant idea, only saw 2 bits of trouble in a year there (I was out most nights)

If you drink in spit and sawdust pubs any trouble gets sorted by regulars. But in"rough" boozers you don't seem to get much aggro, just banter.
I like spit and sawdust. Keep yourself to yourself and don't be a dick and you are fine. Its the ones where people will whack you in the back of the head or stab you for no reason.

When I was with my missus a few years back we stopped off for a day at Cheltenham.I thought it was a posh place, but the two smart pub/bars we went in fights broke out. And it wasn't the horse racing week, it was a summers day in July. The taxi driver told us weekends were mayhem, and dangerous.
