The measurement of how much travel there is in the rating, the differences between tables 3 and 4 in relationship with the early benchmarks set by tables 1 and 2, doesn't look anywhere near to be levelling itself out yet.
In theory, the higher the rating, the higher the league points per game a team should usually acquire over the course of a season. These team ratings can also be compared and contrasted with one another, again, over the course of a season.
It is not sport science, whatever that is, but it is a way to measure over time a teams game mechanics and herustics etc - which is where the true sports science resides.
