If another promoter hadn’t come in and saved it it would have. Best part of 100years history of motorsport on the site coming to end because some newby didn’t want to hear motorsports a mile down the road on a Saturday night every two weeks in the summer.

more proffesonal type of ground than Nuneaton Question 9000 though? more like 7000 but definately would need some Temporary Stands on the Left hand side of the ground as you walk in even if it was Cheap Cowshed type like Stevenage ground. Plenty of good old fashioned standing room as well. I live by Junction2 of the M6 and it would take me 15 minutes to get there. Its got a CV post code so i would go

wouldnt be surprised if planning permission already exists! Current owners want to build and extension stand have applied a few years ago but trying to get the funds! dont know how long the applications last for though but should imagine £500k from CCFC would put in a decent infratructure to establish required security. If we dont get promoted this year then Butlin Road would satisfy the EFL for now.

And, of course, we would survive a bit longer than if we were expelled from EFL. So at least two positives then.

There seems to be an assumption that if Wasps go under, SISU will walk back in to the Ricoh. Why?

Because there’s a stadium then potential up for grabs. I know, and I agree with the ‘SISU haven’t the money’ and I wouldn’t want them in control of the Ricoh like the next person as we wouldn’t get rid of them but I think that’s what there game is.

Things didn't turn out too well for them the first time they worked on that assumption, and you'd think they might have learnt their lesson. It's a high-risk strategy because there's so much that's outwith their control. It's no way to run a football club.

Which other Premiership Rugby club do you think would have a go at moving across the country to play at the Ricoh? Or is there another sport with a team crying out to move to a 30K stadium miles away from their home?

Lets face it. Wasps should never have moved, the rugby authorities should have stood up to their owner and the Fisher-esque BS he was spouting. The chances of finding a second club prepared to bail the council out are slim.

So the other option, if the council still refuse to sell to the football club, is a new stadium operators. Any new stadium operator will not want and empty stadium and will more than likely be doing everything they can to get the club back.

No idea about other rugby clubs moving in, but I don't recall anyone predicting Wasps arrival in Cov, least of all SISU. I just think it's a strange way to go about business to make assumptions, when so much rides on the outcome.

It wouldn’t be the council agreeing a rental - they don’t own the stadium company. if wasps go broke, they would surely go into administration and any remaining assets, such as acl and the associated 250 year lease on the Ricoh, would be put up for sale. How many businesses want a football stadium?

They said at the time of the sale that in that event the lease would revert back to the council
