One thing - people have said that they wouldn’t be surprised if one of Richardson’s companies held a significant number of the retail bonds available. My knowledge on the trading markets is (very) limited, but just thinking out loud, would that not sail very close to an insider trading angle? Wouldn’t another Richardson company have access to non-public material? Or is that ok as long as the bonds aren’t actually traded?

I don't know about the regulatory aspect of it but they're not traded like you say....

Woodlands Academy - Statement from Woodlands Ward Cllrs Peter Male, Gary Ridley and Julia Lepoidevin

We are aware of media reports linking Woodlands Academy to a new stadium development driven by CCFC owners SISU. At this stage, it’s important to recognise that no planning application has yet been made and as far as we are aware no offer has been made to purchase the land from the Council.

If an application is received the Council will need to deal with any application fairly, however we would be deeply concerned by the idea for a number of reasons. The local area does not have the infrastructure to support a football stadium and the scale of the project would not be suitable for the site in question.

Since the Woodlands Academy closed it has been our objective to see the site returned to use as an educational facility as soon as possible. Therefore, we support the plans brought forward by the Council recently to open a new school on the site which must go ahead.

The Woodlands Academy site is there to educate our city’s children and that’s how it must stay.

Bet they'll be popular at the council. Shouldn't they all be keeping to the same story?

As they've obviously seen a full planning submission with the associated reports on infrastructure etc perhaps they could share it with the rest of us. Or are they just shooting their mouths off without a club what they are talking about?

Going off that tweet Gilbert has fallen for the council PR line and failed to ask them any relevant questions. Why are they talking about the planning process when that's not the stage this is out? Should be talking about the council granting the club a forward contract on the site as they have done for Wasps with car park C at the Ricoh.

That is obvious now. Also it is clear that if SISU wanted to pick a site that would receive serious opposition to stretch out the planning process they could hardly have chosen better.

Well 1000s of us signed the opposition letters about housing on Kings hill but it is still going ahead.
Would prefur the New city ground there.

Not sure but is the Windmill area in Cov could get it built there along with the houses need new roads anyway, so wouldn't be an issue?

you can also incorporate listed buildings into developments, they have done at the Butts site, the Premier Inn being an example.

Was just saying it needs to be taken into consideration when planning. Shitty or not shitty, if it's listed it is regarded as being important. Lower Precinct is listed, IIRC!

Coventry has got more than one Grade I listed building in the city centre. The Old Grammar School is one, Council allowed various developments in and around it that are not at all sympathetic to it, so they can't really start playing those sorts of games now.

I was thinking that, would be a pretty good location right by the A45. To be honest, it's kind of irrelevant whether it's technically in Coventry borders or not as it's so close (although think it is).

I’m convinced they are on the wind up listing building sometimes. But not with this one though, it’s one of the worlds most incredible feats of architecture and I’m off down there to glue myself to it now. Front first. Naked. Over my dead body is this building EVER getting knocked down. I’m in tears here.
