Eastwood + ROD (6 Viewers)

Can we recall them? Surely with such a small squad we put in a clause to get them back in emergencies?

Mmmm.... ROD probably not as recalls only work in the English league - Thorn has such a reference with regards McPake last week

Ahh, even a gentleman's agreement as we were thin on the ground if we needed them back would have done :( Say what you like about Eastwood or ROD, we were crying out for them on Monday.

We'd need gentlemen at the helm to make them though :D

Right now, they'd both make better squad options than we have. I don't think either if Championship quality, but neither is our bench, so I wholeheartedly agree

Too unfit no doubt.

Freddy Eastwood was on hand to head home the second goal of his loan spell.

Eastwood then turned provider in the final minute with a pinpoint cross

From the BBC. Still there on the 90th minute setting up goals...Hell of a lot fitter than what we have now surely?

I would rather see one of the youth lads given a go than recall either of them. Amazed its taken nearly a full 24 hours for the love in of the lazy pikey to hit the forum

Isn't really a love in is it? I also agree about getting one of the youth lads in who will run all day and pressure defenders when we are winning. That means taking a gamble though.....

Yeah, cause Cody was a lazy git all season too..... Give these guys a run of games and they will get Goals. Eastwood, ROD, Cody they are all capable. More so than shot shy Alex, Flick on Platt (brilliant at his Job it must be said) and 12 yard Jutkiewicz.

Interestingly, looked on the offal and on there they duly have ROD (on loan to Hibs) and McPake (on loan to Hibs) and Callum Wilson (on loan to Tamworth), but Freddie Eastwood is not even listed. Not even down as being a City player.

Technical typo error or does it mean something else? It was a loan wasn't it? Or was it a free?

All the info I can find says loan.

Is Eastwood's contract up at the end of the season?

Yep, it is.

I don't think he will be back but still do think there is more to it than meets the eye.

We could do with him at the minute though judging by Monday.

3 Up front of Nimely, McDonald and Eastwood would be decent I think.

Having been demoralised through the recent trip to Brizzle, I am all but resigned to relegation. It will not change my level of support or anything like that, I am just less hopeful than I have been and suspect staying up might prove a bridge too. In light of that, Freddie can get fucked and we can play a kid for the rest of the season instead.

Disclaimer - I know we are not down, I know Freddie might well be a better bet than Jeffers / Daniels / Clarke-Harris / etc. If Nimely, Platt and McDonald are out and there is a clause, he should really be recalled. I do think, given the fact the fucker didn't manage to get himself fit for our cause, it would be a shame. Needs must and all that. Basically, stick a cushion on that fence, if you could.

PS - I would be amazed if Freddie was recalled (unless we have zero available forwards) and it sounds like we cannot recall ROD, so this is all hypothetical.

Nah Platt in the middle with Nimely and Eastwood playing off him. Cody on the bench or vice versa with Eastwood depending on who is in form.

I think we definitely need to go with three up front even if it's Mcsheff out left Platt in the middle and Shot Shy Alex on the right.

If all players were fit?!? As that would mean dropping our most potent striker at the moment in favour of a player who could be bothered to train or play in three seasons with us, and under three managers.

Sure, get him back - if possible (which I suspect it's not) - as a bench berth. No more

Not sure I follow you? Are you talking of Cody being our most potent at the moment? If so i would be tempted to drop Shot Shy and bring in Cody.

The thing when Nimely and McSheff play up front with Platt they both play out wide. They play nowhere near him so it is pointless.

It would be better to have a flat 3 in midfield with Platt playing a CF role and nodding on to two strikers. I do worry about Nimely and his lack of shots though. Ahh well he will be gone in 360minutes.

He does win the flick ons but people don't play close enough to him.

Eastwood, league 1 star next season?

If all 3 strikers are injured we would have to recall Eastwood wouldn't we? Surely would be madness not to. Even if it was just for 1 game.

It was stupid to get rid of Eastwood when we had no chance of replacing him.he has been a disgrace this year but could do a job with 4games to go and I think Nimley should play out wide as I don't think he is a forward he would be much better getting round players and setting up Cody or sheffers

Decided I need to be more intelligent in my answer

Fatwoods record for Cov is 17 goals in 113 games. Thats a goal every six matches. So no point brining him back he wont score in time.

At Wolves he got 3 in 31. I think Mick McCarthy also thought he had an attitude problem as well.

So you are right maybe there is more to it, maybe he is actually more of a selfish twat then we all thought and he cares even less about our club than we already thought.

Also maybe he did not see that as the highest played player in a squad full of kids this was a real last chance in his career to really do something and make a real impact. He had to do better than one of the Juke, Platt or Mcdonald and a starting place would have been his week in week out. After Christmas the competition was even less!

He was set one standard of fitness in order to do this and did not have the desire to achieve it.

dongonzalos - I know we disagree on some things, but on this I couldn't agree more. :claping hands:

SO am I right in saying that if we had no fit strikers you would rather play with no strikers at all than recall Freddy Eastwood?

Yes Otis it would be us rewarding disgusting behavior. I think it happens too much in football. It never ends well, just look at man city. I honestly think mancini being made to look silly by having to bring tevez back was the end of their season. It sent a statement that the manager is not top dog. I honestly believe that a fit and motivated fatwood this season could have saved us. I can't forgive him, his laziness has cost us dear. Also financially he has cost us dear when we could not afford it. Also he refusal to move earlier cost us dear as we could have had a motivated player in earlier. So no I don't think I would have him back.

Like I say up there with sisu on my shit list .....
