If we do win at Sunderland we will probably follow it up by failing to beat Bradford!
It would indeed be the story of our season in two games.

I would love to see us beat the Makems but heart rules head on this one. They're playing well and need the wins to go for the autos so they will be on fire. Having said that, I might change my mind if Burton thrash them tomorrow night. Unlikely though. But thinking about it (again) I'd like to see Burton lose because they're right on our tails and could overtake us in the table! Oh, decisions, decisions!

Sunderland had one of the worst home records in English football, but they haven't lost at home in the league all season.

You've just argued for head over heart Houch. All that changing your mind has befuddled you. Have a cold beer and think about it again (hope your health is holding up by the way)

I can see us winning 5-0. Sunderland are shit and we are on fire. I would love to go but have to be back in the evening for babysitting, and the delayed kick-off would make me late back.

Enter us....

It's such an obvious setup it's like an episode of Beadle's About..... "Dave Hughes is a market trader who has parked his van , full of his entire business stock, on the edge of this dock at a London marina. Let's swap it with an idebtiden copy whilst Dave's away, then see his reaction when we 'inadvertently' push 'his van' into the drink!

1-1 draw
Good point hopefully but season over and only the politics of where we play next season ledge to discuss.

Anything less that full strength for us (include Bayliss and Willis in this) and I fear for the side put out. Having said that, even at full strength we could still really struggle. Said earlier on here, they should be walking this league with resources they have... Cattermole alone on more than our entire squad.
However, it's CCFC.... so obviously we can speculate but we have no bloody idea what will go on!! And like a previous poster said...we could win....then go and lose at home to Bradford!!

Bugger! I knew I shouldn't have had that bottle of fabulous Spanish red wine! (hic!). Of course I meant head over heart SBH! And thank you, my health is holding out at the moment! When I haven't posted for a while, you'll know I'm not around. I've give my missus instructions to say my goodbyes! Bugger old age! I love being retired but hate the shitty health problems that come with it!

Bayliss has had a pretty uninspiring season overall but in the last month he has been absolutely dreadful.

Anyone who can honestly come forwards and say he's been anything other than that needs to watch him for a full 90 minutes and re-evaluate.

I hate having to keep making the same point but there are a contingent of our fans that just don't seem to be able to see anything other than the sun shining out of his arse permanently.

For the record the players will be on the beach now, so I expect us to be fairly easy pickings for Sunderland.

Bayliss can do things no one else in our team can do.
Has he done them enough this season, no, but the same could often be said about Maddison. Another player who was shite according to some people on here.
Bayliss will go on to bigger and better things as well.

Agree, but I think Maddison has a bit more to his game in terms of vision and technique (and that's not knocking Bayliss, as Maddison has more to his game than a lot of PL players)

From Robins' comments in the CT ("promotion still mathematically possible"), I doubt we will see any experimental line-ups.
Ponticelli and Bremang will have to wait longer for their chance of a starting spot.
Our chance for promotion is gone, so it seems to me an ideal opportunity to try something new.

It’s a pity the teams around us have hit form at the wrong time. But nothing to lose at Sunderland so let’s hope we go for a win to make the rest of the season interesting. Whatever it’s been a decent season. Shame we’ve thrown so many points away at home against thuggish teams like Oxford. Need a destroyer for next season.

It's a massive ask to go there and win. They're unbeaten in 19 in the league and haven't lost at home all season - W11 D9 L0. But that's still not their most impressive stat in my opinion. Their ability to equalise is 100% - they've gone behind in 10 of those 20 home games and come back every single time. That's the kind of team spirit, composure and determination that gets you automatic promotion.

I've mentioned it on a different thread, but I believe if City can find their clinical edge then we can beat Sunderland.

It won't be easy, they have a decent side, but they're susceptible in defence and have some injury worries.

2-1 City, 90th minute winner from Baka - limbs in the away end.

2 things I can't believe

They're on at their manager while fighting for automatics.
They copied their stadium name from someone else - that is tinpot.

Wonder what they would do if it was the last game of the season and with ten minutes to go they are drawing and Barnsley losing, meaning that if they draw they’ll go up but if they concede they won’t? What would the fans want them to do? Especially if the opposition just need a point as well.

don't say this very often, but here goes.

I predict a loss on sat. it means more to them than us

Robins waiting to see if Willis is fit to play according to CT, lets hope hes traveled up as having him back would give us a much better chance!

Just can't see us getting anything here I'm afraid. They've only lost twice all season and unbeaten at home, think it'll be 3-1.

They've only lost two games all season and none in the last eight games.
They have three other clubs nipping at their heels for the auto spots.
Robins will probably play the same old team and same old tactics.
We're playing for pride only as we are out of contention.
I think the top six will be the same at the end of the season as they are now.
2-1 defeat or possibly worse.

Just on the train to Cov (wrong way I know), gonna listen with my Sunland supporting mate.

He’s fallen out with his family (all mackems) and they’ve gone to the game without him so in his words “So ya know what, I might genuinely want Sunderland to lose”

Get him a couple of shots and tell him to sort himself out.

Just realised that it sounds like I’m heading back just to comfort him I’m back for my niece’s birthday tomorrow, luckily meant we could meet up for the game.

I’ll pass your message on though and two foot him if he’s still being a bitch
