Legals Update This Week / SISU Lose chance to appeal (17 Viewers)

I actually don't think they can appeal to the ECJ, it would be for the Supreme Court to refer the matter to them if they felt it was required. Assuming that the SC does not refer anything then I think SISU would be out of chances to appeal and would be looking at a civil action or nothing.

That would be my understanding too

Just a thought but if SISU appeal kicked out doesn't that mean there are no legals going on ....... perhaps an opportunity to talk?

It does but Wasps would presumably demand an undertaking for SISU to desist with any future cases related to their ownership of the Ricoh....which they might just refuse to give.

true but it is a chink of light ................
Definitely! I wouldn't be surprised if they launched a civil action but equally I wouldn't say it was a certainty. If they don't then presumably there is very, very little to stop at least a short-term deal being agreed at the Ricoh. Of course if SISU are no longer hitting CCC with legal cases it might be that they have less leverage to push for a land-deal for a stadium of their own (although having legals in place doesn't appear to be helping them on that score anyway!).

I wonder what, in the secrecy of his own office, Dave Boddy's reaction would have been to this?

Please please please let this be the end of it? Wonder if the football club and wasps have already some sort of deal sorted and now they can present it to SISU

Well Wasps can not at present say stop the legal actions and we talk.... there are none (yes i know there may be in future but that could be dealt with in any draft agreement as a condition) They could offer heads of terms dependent on no more legals

SISU can choose to stop the legal actions ...... or they could say no we go again and undo all the gains they made of late. So far the two JR cases have both been described as unarguable including this latest appeal

CCC can not hide behind legals either but could ramp up the "show us the right & proper evidence for any site"

It is an opportunity but it wont last for ever

I thought this would happen. Now I hope Wasps will agree to open talks for a new tenancy agreement and we can put this whole sorry saga behind us.

Are SISU already thinking about leverage in their negotiations with Wasps (recognising the likelihood of an increase in rent) as in having an alternative in the city? Is that what you were getting at earlier?

Surely signing an agreement that says 'no more legals' just puts us in a very weak position should Wasps decide to shaft us down the line?

I doubt very much SISU or anybody else would sign up to an agreement to waive their rights. There would always be dispute resolution rights under a contract.

Instead of paying the lawyers, pay a PR company who could probably do more damage to Wasps while getting everybody back on with CCFC :)

Other than council jack of course

partly but also from the fans pressure to stay at Ricoh now there are no current legals ....... so Butts alternative put out there. If they go again with the legals and no option at BPA that would be a disaster. For now Wasps & CCC are in a position that they will feel UK courts have proven them vindicated and that SISU have never had an arguable case

Basically the only thing that SISU have had in the last year is to manage PR to their advantage, to hope fans pressure could be built. They have done that better this time round. What they do next is key. The worry i have is that it has always been about their investment not the club

They still have a Civil case to bring if CCC do not co-operate?

OSB could they sign an agreement of no more legals naming WASPs as an interested party? (Still gives them option to chase CCC)
