According to the Daily Mail website we've signed this Striker on loan from Everton.

He's 6ft 1, maybe a target man? He was on loan at Motherwell and scored 11 in 33 appearances last season.

Wow these big name signings are flowing in thick and fast as promised from the PR God that is Ray Ranson with most the season tickets sold this is the sort of signing we are paid back with, of course give the lad a chance as who had heard of Westwood, Fox and Dann etc..

But why promise things then not deliver seems strange to me or are we all stupid and being mislead.

I said after watching the Hinckley game that if people found the amount of goals we scored last year far from acceptable then they are in for a shock this year there seems to be less goals in our attack every year we stay in this division and im guessing signing two strikers who have a combined total of 0 goals between them in this league and getting rid of someone who has scored over a 100 only takes goals away from the side even further.

I was trying to think for the last time we paid a decent amount of money for a player and i believe it was Eastwood, and with that i'm under the impression Ranson doesn't want to spend anymore serious cash on players with the risk of the player flopping as bad as he has anyway something needs to change i've got a feeling this could be the year where our luck finally runs out!

Someone else who has done nothing at this level. You never know he might do well, but we are taking huge risks aint we.
I hope i'm wrong, but going by the squad weve got,and the players weve signed during the summer i see nothig but a struggle next season.

i think you are both being too harsh, lets see the players perform fiirst before you write the season off!! yes we have been poor last few seasons, but that is why we needed a change. i think the players we had under performed for coleman and i want to see Aidy bring the best out of them, how many times has a new manager produced good performances with the same team that struggled previously. this lad looks okay!! Everton see somethiong in him, so fingers crossed!!
Lukas Jutkiewicz arrived at Everton in the summer of 2007.
He agreed a deal in March of that year after emerging as one of the hottest young prospects in the lower divisions while at Swindon Town.
He helped the Robins to promotion back to League One at the end of the 2006/7 campaign before heading for the Premier League.
Jutkiewicz made his senior bow for Swindon in April 2006 when he was just 17.
He came on as a substitute against Swansea when Swindon were in League One and within minutes had produced a headed goal-line clearance.
He went on to make four more appearances in the 2005/6 season.
Jutkiewicz was a regular substitute at the start of the 2006/7 season before making his first start of the campaign in the 1-0 defeat to Wycombe in October.
He scored his first ever senior goal at Walsall's Bescott Stadium in December.
He would total 13 starts, 20 substitute appearances and five goals throughout the campaign.
Jutkiewicz then switched to Everton in the close season and was named on the substitutes' bench during the 2007/08 Uefa Cup campaign.
In the January transfer window Lukas joined Championship side Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season.
Unfortunately for Lukas he made just one start and two substitute appearances for the Pilgrims before returning to Finch Farm.
He impressed in 2008/09 pre-season, scoring twice at Cambridge United and remained a part of the first team squad in the first few months. He was afforded his first Everton senior appearance in the 3-0 win over Sunderland and spent time on loan at Hudersfield before the end of the season.
Jutkiewicz joined Motherwell on loan for the first half of the 2009/10 season and was awarded the SPL's Young Player of the Month award for October.

I dont think im being harsh Smiley. We have signed 5 players up to now during the summer.FOUR of these have hardly played at this level.Theres nothing wrong with signing a couple of unknown prospects but to do what weve done is very risky.Everton must have seen something in him yes,but obviously he's not good enough for them,he's 21 now so he'd be in there plans now if he was good enough. Is he gonna be the number 9 Boothroyd spoke about earlier in the week LOL!!.
As Ma Ma Ma said,2 strikers have been brought in who have'nt scored a single goal at this level, and we Release our top scorer from last 2 seasons, and this is from the lowest scoring team outside the bottom 3 last season.
I hate to say it,but if we start slowly and struggle for goals early this season, people are gonna start looking at Boothroyd and his decisions, who knows,i hope im wrong.

it's frustrating isn't it! but we have no money and we do not own the ground so we have no revenue there, football played was pants so tickett sales suffered. i didn't want boothroyd, but he has won me over with his attitude and interviews, we have not seen the starting 11 yet i reckon if not tonight then the up coming games we will start to get a real feel about the side. i look at the current squad and there is goals there, if the players can perform. i think he will get it out of them, i may be looking through sky blue tinted glasses, but i hate being negative at the start of the season, (usualy save that till sept/oct!). time will tell i'm sure

I know we have no money, but did we need another right-back? That money could have been spent on a better quality striker maybe. And as for where the goals are coming from.McSheferry and Eastwood might get 4-10 goals, but asides from that were struggling.

Hi there. Motherwell fan here. You should be absolutely delighted you have signed this player. Jutkiewicz is a player of the highest quality. Having seen the likes of Ross McCormack, Charlie Adam etc who have bagged goals at this level, then I have no doubt this player will get you an abundance of goals. He is strong and holds the ball up, he is brave and passionate in the cause, good in the air, strong shot. I could go on, would loved to have seen him back at Fir Park this season but we couldn't afford him. The only problem is a recurring knee injury, so a lot of the time he starts limping in the second half but plays on regardless.

So be positive!

If Crainie Wood and McPake get 10 betwwen them,McSheffrey gets 15,Baker,McIndoe and Bell get 15,and Clingan between 8 and 12,i think we will be Champions smiley!!!!! Lets hope your right with your predictions but i think ive got more chance of seeing Messi at the Ricoh than them predictions being anywhere near right.

You are quite right, coventry fans are too quick to put the boot in before they have put the shirt on for the signing photogragh, they are as bad as the english press, why don't we try giving a player at least half a chance before having a go, i'm sure AB is doing what he can behind the scenes, lets face it it can't be any worse than the total S**t we have been watching for the past few season. GIVE THEM A CHANCE!!!!!!!

Fair point we have been in the Championship for along time now and that creates alot of negativity but past signing are not Boothroyds fault so should not be brought into the equation he is obviously going to use alot of the current squad players from last season this season but it looks like where more sound in certain posistions such as RB/LB which caused us alot of problems last season and that problem is sorted now. Here is some footage of him scoring in a 12 goal thriller Motherwell - Hibernians http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byK2oBB_ucQ

Would be nice to have another experianced striker to add to the mix hopefully Aidy has somethink planned hopefully Marlon King enjoyed the Ricoh Casino and signs a contract

I dont think people, including me are having a dig at the new players,it's not there fault. They cant help that weve signed them, lets face it they probably cant believe there luck. But in reality 4 of the 5 signings are very questionable.Lets hope they set the Ricoh alight, but to sign 4 players who have done nothing at this level is a massive risk.No matter how you sugar coat it,at first glance the signings are not good,i realy do hope im wrong.Im not gonna judge the new guy by his previous club, anyone remember Sandy Robertson or Steven Pressley.
Lets hope all the new signings take to the championship like a duck to water, apart from Macca, whos already proved he can do it.

Re: the point made earlier about us having no money to spend.

Was it just me but im sure RR said we have transfer fundsfor this summer? Obviously its become evident whatever we have, it isnt a lot!

About the player, sounds like a good signing. Even if it is on loan.
