So. Had a text yday, from a relative who works for one of the parties involved in this mess.
They have refused to attend games at the RA for some years, not NOPM but due to actions against who they work for and events of a number of years.
Text read that an organisations top legal person said SISU have nowhere to go now with legal action.
They were at game yesterday and I went over at ht to see them. Said didn't feel as bad attending after news this week. Asked about civil stuff, said didn't think anything merited that either.
This is where it got interesting.
They said... "how would you feel about them (Didn't specify whether club or SISU) buying 49% of the Wasps share of RA" and spoke about access to revenue streams etc and said "Wasps are in finacial financial trouble"
What was said was that a sticking point would be how much that 49pc would be... Wasps original purchase price or it's purported worth now....
I asked if these talks were going on. Response was non committal but I am under the impression that at present no, but a possible deal IS there to be discussed If they are approached.
Wherever does/doesn't happen, for them to be saying this shows a change in stance....
Thought this was very very intetesting....
I can't expand on this as this was it...
But again, guessing this also dependent on no more action of any kind.
Yes, means Wasps being helped out and SISU having stake and sticking around but I'd be over the moon with this and would be interested to see where it might lead!

Nice try. You’re trying to deflect from peacendlovus real story on here aren’t you.
It’d be good if it did come to fruition though(yours not his!)

Can’t see it. If Wasps are in that much of a mess why wouldn’t SISU just sit around waiting for the shit to hit the fan? If what you say is true about the state of Wasps the only thing I would assume is that a ground share is more likely than ever.

Thought exactly that...but it is an immediate way in..
Also thought that there could be huge disputes over price of the share!!

One things for sure is wasps are in desperate trouble.

Not a chance cheaper season tickets would bring in more fans. £300-350 is reasonable imo, especially with direct debit instalments. Or make a massive cut to prices, still attract 6000 ST sales, and you’ve got a devastating loss. Our home turnout has always been disappointing. There’ll always be an excuse.

I've said for ages this is the route all parties should go down. Would love to see the back of wasps and sisu but could live with it if it benefits the club and secures our future.

Don’t shoot the messenger, but I’ve heard there was a secret meeting with Duggins last night.
Apparently Joy and George met at the Godiva statue before dawn.
There was a choir of masked council members singing Carmina Burana while Joy and George feasted on babies stolen from a Sunderland maternity hospital.
As the singing reached a crescendo, they symbolically sealed a deal to stay at the Ricoh, as (covered in the blood of Sunderland pensioners), they fornicated under the watchful eye of Lady Godiva, illuminated by the orange glow of master of ceremony, Ken Dulieu.
On completion of the act Joy’s eyes turned black and she ate Duggins, while Tim Fisher maniacally laughed. After a miraculously condensed gestation (exactly the same length as the delay of the 1977 fixture against Bristol City) made possible by her uniquely dark magical powers, she parted her legs in the direction of the council house, before giving birth to twins Out slid a slime covered Andy Thorn, who will be charged with the task of stealthily eating everyone employed by Wasps, starting with Nick Eastwood.
After another violent heave, a mucus covered Michael Doyle emerged, the man destined to replace Mark Robins (who will have his head turned by a devastated Sunderland who will choke in the LeagueOne play offs) and lead us into the Premiership for the 2021-22 season.
Clearly not true, would mean Duggins turned up for a meeting.

I didn't realise that was the reason that they went down by having over 20k season ticket holders we had better keep to our 6k so incase we are relegated next season

Sorry but I don't see how some of that even works.

Why would wasps even consider selling at 2014 values they would argue it is now worth more. Want current value. Would they need to sell ACL shares or just an interest in the lease?

Why would sisu/ccfc buy in to the bond liability.? The difference in Sisu valuation and wasps valuation of ACL or lease would be huge I suspect

49% doesn't give control which discounts values

Any proceeds would have to be off set against the bond

Could see a deal in ownership being done in IEC which could give access to incomes. IEC is not charged to the bond as security. You don't have own the lease or ACL to access incomes.

There is nowhere to go on jr2 legally. Civil actions could be structured if the aim is to distress wasps but it will also distress Ccfc.

It would suit wasps to have Ccfc long term involved at the stadium but they don't actually need to sell an interest in the 250 year lease to do it. They could sell Ccfc a 125 year sub lease giving Ccfc access to the funds Ccfc generates.

You just know in joint ownership there is huge potential for dispute.

I suppose stranger things have happened but I don't see it happening myself

Bradford City have already sold over 14,000 Season Tickets for next season for their League 2 campaign. This is double the amount of our current ST holders and we're in League 1!

Even if they go bust the ground falls back into councils hands

Been over this a number of times - no guarantee this would happen, we’re then stuck with less income.

They even tried to incentivise ST sales a few years back - more ST holders, reduction in costs - didn’t work did it.

They have a naturally larger and less dysfunctional fanbase. If we halved prices we’d have to double sales to break even - actually more as those not buying would pay on the day a higher premium

It’s a dumb idea and it didn’t work for them and it would fail big time for us

Wishful thinking, if a deal is done between Wasps & SISU it will be shortly before the bond is due to be repaid and Wasps will end up paying interest.

If we sold season tickets for £150 we would possibly sell 1000 more.

People in Coventry don't care about the ticket price, they care about what is happening off the pitch.

Bradford sell lots of season tickets but mostly to kids and families who aren't as loyal. This is clear when you take into account the average away following of BCAFC.

Having the price to double the fan base would be pointless for us as we don't make any money from match day sales

Double the amount in the ground would benefit Wasps more due to food sales etc.
Not the best idea.

Just wondering what sanctions the FCA could impose on wasps if their investigations find serious wrongdoing. Fines ?

Sisu could go tomorrow and after about 3 games the attendances would be back down.

Agree. Still think they are missing a trick not getting more Uni Students to the games. The City is over-run with them.
