Scannell had a good first half, faded second but Robins said he d not been back long from injury. Think Robins has worked with him before.

Whenever I’ve seen him play I’ve been impressed with him, BUT.. injury prone and doesn’t score many goals for a winger (only 8 in 158 @ Huddersfield!).

I’d rather have George Thomas back - yes won’t look as effective or as exciting to watch as but bit like Thomas v hiwula he’s a striker at heart and would probably score more goals.

He got round his man with relative ease, but ultimately not much came of it bar one chance.

I wouldn’t go for him.

I mentioned this in the match thread, he had a good game but you have to weigh it against who he was up against, McCallum is a young kid just starting in the mens game. Might be worth a punt though as he would fit the budget.

Everything I wanted to put has been covered remember Reid and look who he was up against the third best left back at a league one club

He was rubbish when we thrashed them at Valley Parade.
SBA were singing you’re just a cheap Jodi Jones (and I think that’s about right).

Scannell looked very good first half, but McCallum did better in the second half and got the better of SS as the latter tired.

It should also be worth noting that Jodi Jones will be back fit come August/September, I wouldn’t push to sign Scannell, but I think we need to bring a player in on loan for half a season, to allow Jones to settle back into the team and not allow his injury to reoccur.

I think he'd be a better player in a better side. Second half, all their keeper was doing was hoofing it in the general direction of him, getting applause from their manager in doing so.I'm glad we have improved from such dark/depressing football.

Hes a quality player, apparently that was his first 90 mins since coming back from injury. I'd definitely take him, and with Jones to come back that's some quality wide men.

Many of us around where I sit we’re saying we ought to consider him for next season. Tbf nobody up front was going to have a good game for them second half they only had 10 men and the balls that were generally sent to him were launched by the keeper.
At this moment in time we have to forget totally about JJ. There is nothing to say at this stage he will come back the player he was. I would certainly consider him. Have a feeling he played under Robins at Huddersfield.

People are funny - some want washed up has been like Meyler whose only ambition is to be the next Steven Ireland but would turn down this guy whose record screams quality

I wouldn't take him. He has success in the first half yesterday but I think that was because McCallums reading of his runs wasn't the best but then he got back and did some great last ditch tackles/blocks so with more experience he would be able to read Scannel far better and he wouldn't look half as effective as he did.

20 goals in 316 professional appearances just screams quality.

The only Bradford player yesterday that looked half decent. If robins believes in Wakefield (and with Jones returning) I just can’t see scannell as being a priority for the manager.

I think he’s too much of a winger for the system we play. Robins wants those two to contribute with a lot of goals. Hiwula is growing in to it and Thomas as the potential. I think we’ll look to replace him with a similar inside forward sort of role rather than the traditional winger that Scannell looks like.

I’d prefer Jordan Clark of Accrington. I think he could play well in a 4231 and allows us the versatility to go 442. His contracts up this summer I think if research is correct

Tommy Hutchinson wasn’t playing in Division 3 at 28.

Er you are quoting goals from a winger as proof of quality - also he hasn’t played games at this level until this season - why do you talk utter shite on every subject you post?

Just been talking about Scannall. He's the best right winger I've seen all season. Very tricky and skillful. Poor Sam had his work cut out. Second half I thought Sam played against himwell. l Would like to see Scannall in a sky blue shirt. He's a proven player in this league.

Was it the guy with the dreadlocks ?
If so I thought he looked their most dangerous player and it did cross my mind about maybe we should look at him... but as the game went on I realised he looked dangerous but didn’t really have the end product
