Ok just had a read .

A Sunderland fan states Coventry fans behaviour in both fixtures , however some people like myself don’t just see things one way ... I was standing RIGHT NEXT TO the Sunderland fan who threw the very first punch over the fence at the Ricoh which In turn started the mass brawl .
If we want to use their line , they started the trouble next to women and children , I had my 8 year old daughter crying her eyes out next to me whilst grown men were trying to rip each others eyes out , men from both sides .

So spare me the “we are thou holy arseholes” bollocks

On a plus side and credit to a Sunderland fan , he asked if my daughter was ok and gave her £2 , which I refused but he insisted .

Moral of the story , their fans aren’t perfect , ours certainly aren’t but I can’t help but feel they’ve poked at our fans and club for a few years now and created the rivalry that they now denounce
I was right there too and it happened exactly as you said.

I've just looked it up and that same season they are moaning about, they won 2 -1 at Highfield Road, but we won 1 - 0 at Roker Park, in a New Year's evening kick-off, with Donal Murphy scoring the winner in the last minute. Perhaps they should blame him in perpetuity for scoring that goal, which ultimately relegated them, along with their poor form across the rest of the season.
I actually went to that game - on the 1 coach. We arrived early, and spent a pleasant evening in their social club at the ground, but afterwards the hounds were out and we had to break records to escape unscathed back to our coach.

They've given Sunderland 2000 for their play off.

Just reading their play off thread as well, talking about Portsmouth. What a strange and bitter little breed. They’re like the runts of the footballing litter.

On that thread they’ve slated us , pompey , Everton , Grimsby and Scunthorpe fans .

I mean clearly the problem doesn’t lie anywhere near Sunderland supporters as they are a wonderful bunch lol

There were pits in Coventry too lads btw ;)

Arriving in the pub at Donny yesterday there was a sizable group of lads from Sunderland. They were there for the races. No issues at all, spoke to a few, had a bit of banter and they were shaking hands with city fans as they left.

It makes all the hand-wringing and hysterics on RTG all the more bizarre. That can't be representative of their fan base as a whole, surely? They're batshit crazy on there, and there are few, if any, dissenting voices.

How long will it before they start a 20 page foaming onslaught about our usual Cov man sitting in the front row of the Crucible ?

....read title of thread and thought it must be about the W**ps fans after their defeat today....
Obvious only other option was the Sunderland fans as it turned out.....

I can certainly confirm this. My dad was a miner in Binley Colliery. Very proud to be a miner’s son I am too!

They banned footy shirts at the Crucible last year.

Our Brian has cunningly worn the old Talbot top tonight, no crest on that one so unless you are an old Cov fan you wouldn’t realise it was a footy shirt.

Before RTG, SBT, Facebook, Twitter and the other social media channels, noone down here gave a flying f**k about Sunderland. And apart from the minority who want to sit on a 40 year old grudge, neither did they care about us. We have all been culpable in escalating this farcical feud between the two clubs to the point where I do fear for innocent fans being severely injured at games in future by people only interested in violence and not football.

This guy seems to have the right instinct. If idiots from other clubs and the general public realise Coventry are getting a reputation for trouble, they will attach themselves to us or our opposition just to get a fight. And that will drag us further down.

In Herne Bay we call them rolls not batches:vomit:
And the locals here in Malvern call them baps, but I'm COVENTRY born and bred so I call them batches. Always have, always will do.

I saw and spoke to a group of at least 20 of them last week during a Stag Do in Magaluf. All top blokes, saw them a few times over the time I was there. I mentioned their forum and they laughed about it.

There’s a post on there about a train from Newcastle to Sunderland the week we played them. Can’t remember the train time but the post was one of their lot saying it was the worst train journey in all of history due to the behaviour of Cov fans etc.. It was rammed to be fair, but I was literally stood over the bloke as he was posting it. I watched him post it from his nice and quiet comfortable chair. Everyone was good as gold. Absolutely full of shit.

Every City fan should boycott Sunderland away match next season as they will not be going backup via playoffs! Why the fuck should we spend money on those knuckledragging turds and line their clubs pockets with our hard earned money. Can you imagine the headlines that would create?
