The US is a very big place. From where I am New York is almost 3000 miles away, Florida is over 2000.
There is everything here anyone could ever want. Each state is like a different country except everyone speaks the same language (with different accents and Spanish is becoming more common in some places). Whether you like big cities, small towns and villages, beaches, lakes, forests, mountains, rivers, it's all here ... somewhere.
Many of the best places are known only to locals but you can discover them on the internet.
There's a series of guidebooks that are excellent, the titles all begin with 'Hidden' as in 'Hidden California', 'Hidden Arizona' etc.
If you think you would like Canada and New Zealand, you'd probably like the New England states, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire.
