I have seen so many ups and downs since 1952, some so very similar to our current situation. Grit your teeth, expect the worst, but hope for the best... forget Bristol City and Barnsley .. just concentrate now on OUR three remaining games and see what happens at the end of the season.
To those that say they won't go to the Ricoh if we get relegated -- "I bet you will"... I have said that many many times, yet the following season I was there - you will be as well.

I am sure people will still support the City and back them best they can, but if you think everyone is going to go up the Ricoh on a wet cold Tuesday night in December to watch City vs Carlisle then you are very much mistaken.

Think what will happen is that fans will pick and choose their games more. In the Championship there was the appeal of Brum at home and Leshtur and Leeds and West Ham and Derby and Forest.

In League One we are getting Stevenage, Hartlepool, Yeovil and Bury. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. City fans will still be City fans but they are going to be a lot, lot more choosy in terms of which games they are going to attend for sure.

:thinking about:Hmmm.......I've supported CCFC since 1965, yet for the first time in umpteen years decided not to renew my season ticket this season. The reason for this was simply because the squad was too thin and not good enough for this division.

I've still gone to the Ricoh to support my team - I've watched some dire matches and some entertaining matches, however I'm glad I didn't renew. Friends who did renew for this season tell me they wish they hadn't and picked their games instead - very often going to the Ricoh was 'a bit of a chore' for them, so frustrated were they with how the club was being run and how uninspiring the team played.

For me, whether or not I decide to buy a season ticket next season depends not on which division we're in, but instead on who owns us.

In other words, if SISU are still 'running' things, then I can assure you that next season will be absolutely dire, relegation or not - no season ticket for me!

However, even if we're relegated, if we have new owners then I will be up there like a shot to buy my season ticket.

I wouldn't call £11 a match "paying through the nose" but I see where you are coming from.

Next season will be my daughters first with a season ticket. I have renewed and I believe that we will rise again. The good times will return. Relegation will be a complete disaster as we just haven't the capacity of Norwich/Leeds to retain our paying fans through a relegation. Its not going to be easy, but if a relatively tiny club like Wigan (who only had an 8000 average attendance not so long ago) then surely we can too. It might mean another 10 years of languish but that 20 years of nothingness will be worth it.

I want to be there for every minute, every bit of me a part of the Sky Blue Army.

Wigan were funded well by Dave Whelan though weren't they and he put a lot of money into the club.

New owners and we should be okay, Sisu still in charge and it will be a relegation scrap in League One.

Paying through the nose? Check out the prices for Div 1. The nearest club to me is nonleague. Their tickets start at about £20.

Whatever division we are in I will still support them. Can't just turn my emotions off. Most of us will be looking forward to next season once we have done without any games for a couple of months.

Will I watch them in the 3rd division ...? Absolutely ... if they are in a division winning game or maybe if they get a quarter final a cup. Other than that I have lost interest in them. The team I mean.. not the club.

What makes me laugh are the "ill watch them in any league any where".. get a life. Ffs a third of the world starves while we pay these over egotistical flash gits a fortune to live in luxury ... and what did they give us back? Relaegation with a little whimper of fight all too little too late.

My opinion is this. If tickets were 10 quid a game we would get a crowd next season.. but the club know we have about 5000 so called die yards who in my opinion are mugs. And the club will mug them with season tickets at the same price as this season.

Do yourselves a favour die yards.. take you 350 season ticket money and give it to feed Africa. Or a children's charity next season... just go to selected games. Give your money to a deserving cause... not Coventry city football club...who ever owns ccfc they don't deserve it... and if anyone believes we have any players worth a thousand quid a week your deluded.

Bigirimana forget it... we are miles away from the top 10 clubs in that league when you take away Keogh. Clingan. Crainey. Etc. We are more than likely to go down again into the 4th division in the following season.

I understand some of "I'm a better fan than you" types will be rushing to lay into me on this but I'm being realistic and honest with my opinion. I'm not knocking die hards, I used to be one in the 80s and 90s but the last 10 years have murdered my love for the club.

What is the way back for us? Well that's. Easy... 10 pounds for adults. 5 for kids and miscellaneous.. get a party atmosphere in the ground. Move away from the template that has not worked for 10 years. Get proper enterntainment in the ground. In the concourses. Put fair rides on for the families. Market stalls in the car park. More Burger vans .. give aways of scarves caps etc throughout the game. Bring back the drink sellers on the terraces.. try new things... be an experience not a nightmare day out. For my 80 quid I want something I and my kids go WOW at... not "how long now dad..when can we go".

Ok poeple sorry my opinions wont suit all but ithink my opinion is inline with most family fans.

Absolutely no cake walk. In fact it is much harder league. Its dirty in your face leg breaking stuff. Not suitable for our squad of children. Another worry for us is that league can litterally kill teams off.

I truely see us in big trouble.. no players want to come to division 3 so the likelyhood of a 'revolution' is way out there. Even division 4 players wont come ad they see division 1 as their aim.

Can't see us getting crowds of more than 6000 week in week out. Money problems will worsen for our owners. In short we are deep in trouble yet half of our fans don't realise this.

With my season ticket next year it works out as £11 a match for me and free for my daughter, albeit she's under 7. That sounds like a better deal than the one you propose. I'm not sure how far off an over 7s ST but I can't imagine it'd be far off £5.

Leaving Ashton Gate on Monday in the pissing rain plenty of us questioned what point there was in forking out the money to watch your team capitulate. Bear in mind, I've asked myself the same after trips to Morecambe, the Crisp Bowl, the Madejski and plenty of other places where we've just rolled over. The point is, you don't go up simply because you expect them to win-you go up because they're your team and you want to show your support.

Without that faith, what else have I got? I have to believe, otherwise, what is the point?

I've only been a fan since the early 90's. I had a season ticket between 1996 and 2003. I then had a break (which I actually think is healthy when supporting a team like Coventry) where I attended around 10 games a season.

Three seasons ago, I got a season ticket again and I am as passionate as I ever was about City. Fatherhood and that partial sense of identity through the team I support pushed my support and faith even further.

I'll admit that, although I feel like a long suffering fan, I'm not quite as long suffering as others. On the other hand, I can only read about the 60's and I only have a DVD and an art exhibition to experience anything close to 87.

I am proud to wear a City badge on my chest. I enjoy talking and debating the ongoings at our club. If I lose that faith, then a massive slice of my life will be gone.

Surely that faith is the fun part of supporting Coventry.

Williestanley you have got a good deal there I agree. Of course I was talking about gate prices.. should have made that clear. Season tickets shouldn't be more than 150 for division 3. I just can't believe the club can charge so much. We don't even know what our team will be... or if sisu will simply eat up the early season ticket payments and walk.

Good luck though I hope you can be entertained by brentford. Yoevil and Bournemouth who all see a day at the ricoh, as a wembley day out. Personally if I want to see CR.p like that ill go watch nuneaton or. Bedworth. Half the price twice the trying

In my view being a football supporter is at least as much about hope as it is about faith.

While we may not expect success, we can dream about it happening. I've often said (only semi jokingly) that June and July are the best months of the year for a Cov fan, as we can look forward (quite unrealistically) to the successes of the coming season.

The problem is that it's now very difficult to hang on to any hope. Even last summer was good - we'd had a positive and entertaining end to the season, we knew Westwood was off but King and Gunna might stay, we'd have a fit Turner back and maybe with just a couple of signings we could have a decent year.......

But this summer????

Realistically what can we hope for, let alone expect? Any out of contract players who get an offer from another club leaving, anyone we can get a fee for being sold, a team with an average age of fifteen and a half (I know I'm exagerating - at least I hope I am).

Take away the hope and there's not much left.
