I'd like to know how far reaching their powers are, are they like the police in that they can seize documents, computers and the like, can they find out what was said at closed council meetings with rugby club owners for instance.
What might come of Sisu's complaint to European Commission
It’s like “referring someone to the police.”
"The Commission will conduct a preliminary investigation, after which they might decide this doesn’t warrant further investigation.

"If, however, they decide to conduct an in-depth investigation, the Commission has extensive powers to investigate the matter fully."
Extensive powers...

think you are being short sighted ..why would sisu raise the action if they are not going to benefit?
So on what grounds would sisu get anything from the commission investigation? They could well start further action if it went against the council, at which point the council would have had to be at fault.

The EC investigation isn't based on sisu and their attempts to buy the ricoh. It is to see if state aid was used to give I company an unfair advantage. If they lose the would at most have to give extra money to the council. Sisu wont magically be awarded the ground. Wasps will still own it.

sisu will then sue the council for losses..if you think sisu have complained on some moral basis you are sadly deluded
For that scenario to play out the council would have to have been found to be in the wrong and the football club to have suffered as a result. If that was the case why would anyone object to the appropriate measures being taken to rectify that?

But their motivation is to obtain the Ricoh at some point in the future, surely? Whether that be by distressing Wasps to such an extent that they fold or some other way.

Anyone who begins a post with " I rarely post on here any more". Can usually be described as one of the council rentboys.

It usually then has a comment about freedom of speech, secret club and a flounce.

It's as if they don't think it's happened a fair few times.
