The Ricoh.. (5 Viewers)

Obviously not. It might have made it easier to get a protest going, mind you. And that might have had a result in helping change views or, at the very least, showing there were some angry and upset people about.

it might, in fact, have been in SISU's interests for the information to be out there earlier. I'm wondering why they chose to hold onto it.

Who knows if they even did

I’m really past giving a shit about any of these bellends. SISU, wasps, the council - absolute pondlife the lot of ‘em.

For the first time in a long time we actually felt proud of our team the last couple of years. Yes it was a bit hit and miss last season but we had so much to be excited for going into this season ON the pitch.

All this bullshit will ensure no half decent player will want to sign for us and we can’t progress on the pitch.... yet again. What on Earth is SISU’s goal?!

I’ve just become numb to it all and it’s all but killed my love not only for CCFC, but football in general. I dunno where we go forward from here.
I can't disagree, it's soured my enjoyment and optimism too, I used to live for football and the City but now I'll go now and again and pick and choose matches when it suits me......Coupled with watching the Man City's of the world holding up the trophy, having effectively bought it and cheated the spending rules along the way as well.

Well it certainly didn't appear in Seppala's rambles. They were surely the ideal time to release it, whilst releasing stuff that had people questioning others' role in all this.

The fact the timings are as they are makes me, in these suspicious times, equally as likely to question why SISU's actions have been as they have been. Again, much as with Wasps, one thing you can't lay at their feet is the accusation of stupidity.

We all know how Sisu operate they’ve simply tried to play wasps into a deal with this commission complaint hoping it opens legals back up

Apologies if I've got this wrong, but you're saying that Wasps are remarkably stupid and incompetent, by not anticipating future legal action, and deciding that, based upon a prior track record (let's not forget, litigation was all the rage when Wasps bought the Ricoh!), there was no legal action to come, and they were going to take everything at face value?

You're suggesting Wasps are run by morons?

Wasps are here because sisu screwed up over the ricoh, it does not matter which negative subject you choose to debate over the past few years but sisu are the common denominator, they have no allies in anything they do, nobody wants to deal with them and they are basically horrible. I have said this before but I think we were lucky that it was a rugby club that jumped in and took the ricoh, if it had been another football club then they would have worked a lot harder to get rid of us and we would be dead and buried already.
We can keep talking and wasting time on CCC and now Wasps but we wont change anything for either of them. We were banking on Wasps being in financial issues and needing us at the ricoh to be able to survive, if this really is the case they wouldn't have backed out of talks so easily or looked for an easy way out if that is what you want to believe. Bottom line is that we need new owners now or this really could be the final nail.
The biggest failing in all of this is the morons who negotiated the original deal between the club and ACL. At the very least the football club should of had in place a sliding scale of charges for use depending on what level they were playing at. The Council/ACL for their part should have treated their investment in the complex as a long term strategy and spread costs over a longer period whilst promoting the Arena professionally to get all the ancillary income available from non sporting events, that way alleviating the stress on ACL to make ends meet.
Why on earth didn't SISU under due diligence put all of those things in place as conditions of 'rescuing' the ailing club ?

I’m sure they tried that in the initial deal when we sold our share. The council had us over a barrel and insisting on a straights 1.2 million regardless.

I’m sure Richardson when he resurfaced a few years back or somebody else explained that they even turned down more money if we were to get promoted to the premiership.

The even refused to speak to anyone who suggested buying the Ricoh or reducing the rental agreement pre-sale to SISU.

SISUs failing was placing all their eggs in the ranson basket who threw money at Coleman. Besides - we’d only have been able to buy 50% the council were quoting 24 million on their half Just on F+B if I recall

Have a look at who was running the club at the time then have a look at whose companies got contracts to work on the Ricoh.

Yep, £24m for the matchday revenues for the remainder of the 50 year lease yet people still thing CCFC and Wasps got equal treatment and the only reason we don't own the stadium is SISU.

If sisu leave the complaint still exists. Wasps are choosing to kick the club out of the city. Choosing to punish the fans of the football club that the stadium was built for. Yet the wankers get let off the hook because sisu exist.
But the complaint & any beneficial outc9me from it would go to SISU just as it will if they stay

Stopped reading after your first sentence.

Wasps are here because the Council engaged with them to move to Coventry in March 2012.

What a knobhead.

Should never be allowed to post on this forum again.

What a load of senseless bullshit.

If we were really lucky we wouldn’t have fans, like you, who gloat about how lucky we are that a rugby club was able to buy the stadium built for the City’s 135 year old football team.

But then again you can’t really be a CCFC supporter as no real fan would ever type a sentence like that ever.

The Ricoh was built to be the home of Coventry city football team not a fucking London rugby club it's disgusting to see those pricks badge bigger than our club crest and history associated with it on the stands at the Ricoh

Can you explain the discussions with Wasps before Sixfields?

Welcome back
Thanks, I was obviously gone too long and missed all the sisu love in, I must alter my "sisu out" banners to "I love sisu".
Another reply to me was that i'm not a real city fan because of my failing to hate Wasps in all of this, he could be right now as this is the first season since I was 14 (near 50 now) that I have not attended one single City game. Could just be age thing or could just be that I have fallen out of love with football because of Sisu?
However in the past season I have watched...
Leamington FC
Coventry RFC
Old leams RFC
Loads of local Football and Rugby matches.
Even ice hockey matches.
So i'm passionate about sport but I just cannot drag myself to the the Ricoh anymore, new owners and a new enthusiasm may just changed that but im not holding my breath.

get your facts right please. in 2012 the deal proposed was ACL to buy wasps. Not wasps to buy the Ricoh. completely different

Oh yeah, it's completely unrelated.

Can you explain where the now Wasps owner comes into it? He didn't own Wasps then but was talking about Wasps at the Ricoh with people.

lol who told you this? What people? Where is the proof? only proof is acl wanted to buy wasps from the previous owner and didn’t.

Maybe wasps will do another late 1 year extension due to bad press, surely they can't afford all the shit that comes with kicking us out

The company set up to run the Ricoh for the council and football club tried to buy a rugby club as anchor tenants.

In what world does that make it ok? You're mad.

What Coventry City fan would think this is acceptable? Apart from The Lurker, that is.

Lol - if acl wanted to buy wasps that’s there choice isn’t it? I imagine it was on the cheap. but like when sisu came in for us on the cheap. end of the day, sisu fucked us over with there bully boy tactics. there the ones who took us away from the Ricoh for this to happen. If we were still there back in 2013-14 wouldn’t be where we are now

so still no link to the fact that it’s well known? so just hear say then?

No, I knew full well where it was and who said it.

Just find it great how somebody banging on about knowing the facts doesn't really seem to know them. There's a shock.

Okay, so let me ask you a question.

If ACL had bought the Wasps in 2012 do you think ACL would have continued to run Wasps day-to-day business from Adams Park in Wycombe or from the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, the hint in this is the name Arena Coventry Limited.

You're playing on words and a WUM.

If the deal had proceeded in 2012, ACL would have brought Wasps to the Ricoh after purchasing the Club, or else what reason would an arena managing company have to buy a struggling Rugby club?

So regardless of your play on words, in 2012 the possibility was explored to bring Wasps to the Ricoh, during a period of which CCFC/SISU had agreed HOT with the Council and before the move to Sixfields.
