Apparently security have been told talks are ongoing according to PSB group on Twitter, probably bull

I find it beyond belief that nobody in the local media has thought to ask Wasps what the football club and / or its owners can do from the position we are at currently to enable talks to continue. Its such an obvious question as from what has been said publicly they are asking for the impossible.

If its been asked and they refuse to answer make that known.

Would I be surprised if talks were ongoing... Probably not, it makes all kind of sense to everyone that we remain at The Ricoh. Do I believe, that the security were "briefed" that talks are ongoing, absolutely not...

You have to take everything said by Wasps at this point with a fistful of salt, let alone a pinch. Who's to say that they haven't been told to say that like posters have mentioned? Or more to the point, what details would Wasps security even know about such talks? It's a waste of time taking rumours at face value as it'll drive up expectation which is the last things the fans need right now. The reality is that at this moment in time we need to prepare ourselves for a groundshare.

Probably some truth about it because I dunno if wasps got european rugby next season or not but if they didn’t then I doubt they can afford not to have us there

They don’t. Finished 8th, so will be playing in the second tier competition which they’ll probably struggle with after all their players have left them.

Repeated from another thread. Brilliant. No Europe, ££££££s lost. No tenants ££££s lost. Need to keep an eye on EC ££££ lost. Difficulty attracting decent players, impact on attendance £££££ lost. FCA investigation into financial irregularities, potential fine £££ lost. Impact on wasps bonds ££££ lost. Near perfect storm.

I predicted to my father-in-law when they moved in that it wouldn't be as to say as being painted by them and the council. Knowing how fickle us Coventry folk can be with our OWN teams when things are against us, what chance do outsiders have. My shock, is just how quickly it could happen.

Tbh they draw their support from outside of Coventry for the most part, quite telling that of the pubs renamed today only one was in Cov. It makes the decision even worse, sell the stadium so that people from Birmingham can watch rugby union.

Ricoh back on hopefully, seeing more and more of this mentioned....

Fingers crossed looking positive again

This can't just have been a public play to push the rent up a bit by getting the club to panic can it? Surely that's too simplistic an answer. Besides, putting the Cov fans through the wringer won't do them any favours in the long run in terms of garnering support in the city. There must still be much more to this than meets the eye.

At this stage I wouldn’t be surprised with any scenario, from half ownership of the Ricoh to a ground share with Carlisle being announced.
I think I can fairly securely say that somethings afoot...and that’s it.
However, I wouldn’t trust/rule out any of the rumours. Unfortunately this makes heeding any of them a completely futile pursuit.
Hats off to those that attended the protest today. It’s the one true thing we can do as fans and that’s display our dissatisfaction with the lot of them. Nice one!

The only thing I can think of is Wasps legal team / advisors have fucked up. When they leaked it through Gilbert there was no mention of the complaint to the EC being irreversible, that came once our fans started looking into it and then got confirmed the next day by someone on CWR.

Could it be the deal was agreed but they wanted to force SISU to withdraw the complaint not realising they couldn't?

That's the only thing I can think of. There's no way SISU are going to indemnify them and I don't think any of our fans would want them to. Why should we pay if they are found to be in the wrong?
I just can’t see them kicking us out...
Whatever way you look at it there's zero sense to kicking us out. They will lose our rent and other revenues, not to mention a lot of goodwill. On the flip side what do they gain? Absolutely nothing, if anything it could prompt further legal action and bigger payouts should SISU win at some point.

Watch out for the “joint” season tickets, ccfc and wasps.... :)

Surely they’d have more knowledge of an EC complaint than we could come up with after a small google.

Maybe it’s heart over head, but I’ve had the same feeling as others all week; there’s definitely more going on behind the scenes.

Logically it doesn’t make sense for Wasps to kick us out. Their one reported grievance with us remains, whether we are at the Ricoh or not. They risk frustrating those (weird) groups of fans who support both CCFC and Wasps, as well as those Wasps fans who go for the social or enjoy rugby but ultimately are still Coventrian > London Wasps. And at this stage, with dwindling attendances, no Europe and a loss of talent, they really can’t afford to lose more fans.

I’ve been intrigued by the lack of statements and even (whether we agree with it or not) mud slinging following the break down of talks. Is that because they are still on-going and/or NDA’s are still in place? Have SISU refrained as they believe they can get Wasps back round the table? Or is it just lethargy from all sides.

No inside knowledge, but I retain a slither of hope we’ll be at the Ricoh next year. And we’ll win the league, obviously.

Yeah, but I am already a bit irked that it won't be sewn up by Christmas and it will only be in the first week of the new year.

We must all be a seething over that I reckon. Barstards.

I don't think wasps broke this I think it was ccc. I don't think wasps knew until late last week so hence the knee jerk reaction was real anger vented at sisu

However i do think that both wasps and ccfc will keep talking. How they cobble something together out of that God knows.

The complaint was cold calculated and all sides knew exactly what it meant... sisu knew in February wasps in may . ... just a question of timing as to the reaction.

The statement from Ccfc contradicts that though by hinting it was a part of discussions.

I’m not saying I believe that either, it’s entirely possible none of them are telling the truth and our guesses are as good as anything.

Statements say a lot of things hinting at this or that ...... then you realise who said it and their past history and it doesn't carry the same certainty.

Wouldn't paint wasps in a good light and would deflect away from sisu ...... they all do it to suit.... doesn't make it the truth..... take into account all sources and you get a middle position which is nearer the truth..... wasps did not know about the complaint until recently I am pretty certain ..... nor did anyone else like the efl.... the council probably sooner but not much
