Sisu will not put us into administration.

They may end up in admimistration but it won't be through choice.

I think: no proof of funding for next year + Joy Sepalla visiting not long ago + loaning out squad players during the vital run in + not meeting our rent payments + relegation = big problems

I agree with you. In that scenerio the only loosers would be SISU themselves. BUT their tenure as owners has to end. They know that so it is simply a question of getting the right offer.

They aren't paying the rent to put themselves in arealisticbargaining position for next season... I mean what clubin the 3rd division would pay 100.000 pound amonth.

Depends if they want to make a statement.

Well that would be a rarity...particularly with their reluctance to make any kind of statement to communicate what the hell is going on with our club....and yes I'm being sarcastic. Still think we'll be safe from relegation this year and we'll be alright Godiva? Seem to recall you felt the club was in very safe hands....

We will not go into Admin as SISU will not want to be investigated and anyway they have more money than we will ever see in our lifestime. It would bebeteer for us if they did as we woulds get new owners and they would get us on the cheap but it will not happen.
SISU will continue to use us as an object, sell our assets (only have players) and just wait till we either give up or someone comes in and makes an offer. To them we are a pest a little problem they have in a massive empire but this one does not make any money for them.

I still think we have a chance to stay up, yes. When we discussed the possibility ... was it sometime before christmas? ... it looked almost impossible. Two weeks ago it seemed very likely. Things changes fast - so keep believing!

What bargaining position?

If they've got a signed contract that's that.

Any negotiations would run as follows;

SISU - We'd like to pay less rent
ACL - No
SISU - Oh

And before someone says, "they should walk away from the Ricoh and play elsewhere" - if they did that the contract would still exist, so they'd still have to pay the rent, or be taken to court for the non-payment.

As someone from the council pointed out, the lease was signed on the basis of significant investment into the playing squad to ensure a return to top flight football.

The fact that SISU didn't fulfil this investment is not the current owners of the Ricoh Arena's fault, so why should they subsidise SISU?!!!!

If SISU held on to some of the bargains we signed/already had in our ranks (Westwood, Dann, Turner, Fox, Gunnarrsson, King, Best, Juke) or even reinvested that money back into the playing squad, then we'd be a lot closer to (if not already achieved) our goal of top flight football.

SISU have to deal with the consequences of there actions, even if that is playing in league One with 100k rent a month and low attendances.

Tough

What a silly statement.

Godiva is clearly one of the astute and articulate posters here.

The truth, no matter how unpopular SISU may be, very few fans have been able to accurately identify what SISU have done wrong.

Well the obvious stuff is lying, but that's not why we're where we are - I think what they've done wrong is release the assets they have at every opportunity which, as someone has stated elsewhere would have made us a team that could challenge, never mind survive.

Im sure Sisu would let you know what they've done wrong and some of the mistakes they have made.... But you will be waiting along time for any answer as none of them give a straight answer or any answer at all..... So on that point alone is the starter for what they done wrong,, communication!!!!

Other than a complete disregard for the club's playing squad? Not even the smallest investment to try to maintain our status in this league...

I don't see how any paying customer can defend that.

Lying? The only case of "lying" may be the silly statement regarding negotiating with the Council over the Arena. But even that isn't lying.

They never lied about players being signed. To think that was a lie was naïve in the extreme.

And as for the playing squad.

You can't buy players if you can't afford it. So in answer to ginetta, that makes SISU exceptionally sensible. Every paying fan should defend that.

The status in the league is irrelevant when it comes to staying in business.

Its buying players we couldn’t afford and paying the wages, that got us into this mess.

Which is why the blame lies with Richardson and Robinson.

What a crock of shit.

Directed at my post? ;)

But you add nothing to counter the post, which indicates that you have nothing valid to support any counter argument.

Facts are: SISU have probably done very little wrong.

They certainly havent lied. And even if they did lie, they have done the same as other clubs promising to achieve promotion etc etc etc blah blah.

Fans are stupid and/or naive to listen.

But perhaps if the fans had turned up when Ranson was warning that we needed 23,000 or so fans to breakeven, we wouldn't have been forced into cost cutting.

I know nothing about SISU's motives before, during or after the takeover.

However, I do believe that before the F.A. allow any change in ownership they should insist on sustainable business plans being lodged, with themselves, along with a realistic mission statement.

If these safeguards were insisted upon and monitored for (say) the first 3 years then a number of takeovers would not be allowed to take place.

In the short term this could cause some clubs major difficulties but in the long term should prevent them getting into the position where an offer (any offer) is the only way out!

These measures, along with a, long overdue, tightening up of their "fit and proper persons" test, for directors, should prevent a lot of the misery that their laxity has caused (and is still causing) to supporters of many clubs.

This is a very astute point. However, a sustainable business plan might well involve conducting the same sort of cost cutting that SISU have implemented.

The football authorities (and Inland Revenue) are getting increasingly concerned about the nature of debts being built up by some clubs.

The nature of SISU's business makes it difficult to assess "fit and proper persons" - not that their business is wrong for the commerical sector - but it may be wrong for the sporting environment.

Nevertheless, if one was to present a business plan, which involved reducing expenditure down to a level which is sustainable, then it would "pass" anyone's tests.

Especially with the new UEFA financial rules, which will make it difficult for clubs to spend beyond their means.

Again, you prove my point. You have nothing valid to say.Name a lie.And you arent allowed to refer to buying/loaning players. No one in the right mind would judge that as a lie. Nor can you refer to the silly "negotiating with council" statement. You can'tYou are making this so easy for me ;)
