West End boys we are here
Sh*g your women and drink your beer
Whooah Whooah

Also the' You'll never take the West End' when they used to sensibly (not) put the away fans adjacent to us the old standing days.

'When Bertie Mee said to Bill Shankly "Have you heard of the North bank, Highbury"?'
'Shanks said "No, I don't think so but I've heard of the West end, aggro".
'Du du du du du du du' (etc) 'We are the west end, aggro!'

Wow - don't remember that one ! Just remember 'Hello, hello West End aggro, West End Aggro' , to the old Gay Glitter (spit) 'Good to be back' tune

Not the words I've been singing all these years?
Only the last line, surely?

No wonder everyone thinks our fanbase is disjointed!
My recollection ...

You are my City, my only City.
You make me happy, when skies are grey,
You'll never notice how much i love you,
PLEASE DON'T TAKE, MY CITY AWAY

Na-na na naah-nahhhh (BLUES) ... etc ...

As it's been Eurovision this week, my favourite from the late 70s to mid 80s was to the tune of the UK's winning entry in 1976 (yes kids, we won back then, when we ruled the world!) by Brotherhood of Man ...

Save all your bottles for me,
Save all your bottles for me,
Bye-bye Leicester, bye-bye.
Don't cry Leicester, don't cry.
We'll be thinking of you
When you're in Division Two.
SO
SAVE
ALL
YOUR
Bottles for me,
etc, etc

It seems most chants back then involved violence.
He's only a poor little cockney
His face is all tattered and torn
He made me feel sick
So i hit him with a brick
And now he don't sing anymore
Repeat

That one was decent to be fair.

If people didn't sing fight, fight wherever you may be in assembly at school instead of the actual words to the hymn then they need a brick too.*

*It didn't have to be loud, you were still double hard if you said it behind your hand to your mate so the teacher didn't see. It all counts.

*HATTER was a more popular version, IIRC!

It was all about tribalism, sexism ("get yer t*ts out for the lads" to any woman daring to walk the touchline in front of the WT), homophobia ("Xxxxxxx is a homosexual", etc.) and whatever - trans-phobia hadn't been invented back then!
You're gonna get your f*ckin' heads kicked in was another good one (same "tune" as the ambulance one)!

I tried to bring the ambulance one back at my daughter's netball match but got kicked to fuck by some middle aged women.

I remember an away game in the 80's (Luton i think), where the words 'Hey Jude' were replaced by 'Sky Blues' & the chorus was sang repetitively for over half an hour.
