That's took a long long time to get sorted, wonder what will happen with the away fixture? Maybe we might find out next year sometime!

I always wonder how these banning orders actually work. How do you literally stop a few mongs from blending in with 11,000 other people who turn up on matchday?
Usually have to report to a local police station at kick off time, They can also be banned from using public transport at certain times and be banned from certain areas where football fans might meet before matches eg pubs/town centres. Usually have to surrender passport before major international tournaments and England away games even if the offender has no history of attending such games.

Thank you! I didn't have a clue

Surprised that isn't in place already.

Seems a lot of time and effort for banning people for what is normally hangbags.
Not in place already because it costs money. And we all know clubs have a whole raft of ways they prefer to spend their money than on protecting decent supporters

Seems a bit OTT given the level of violence. Also slightly concerned that banning orders are getting over used as a panacea approach by the police when in reality those involved will almost certainly be customers of theirs but via a different route.
We need to police games robustly but there is a fine line between safety at all costs and taking the spice and bite out of an atmosphere as the away fans are seated half a mile away and we can't hear them .

Don't worry, I am sure your ban will expire sooner than you think....;)

Read this thread and I'm completely baffled by the sheer stupidity of these supporters... Its clear as day why absolutely nobody likes them, weird as fuck

Three Sunderland supporters hit with banning orders after violence broke out at Sunderland AFC game

Next season will be tasty. I imagine there will be a lot more planning rather than flares of fighting under the police's noses.

They really are so arrogant, it's incredible. I actually took more delight out of Charlton beating them because of their arrogance, than my despair at Villa beating Derby. That's how much they irritate me as a club.

Let me do what they want if they want to arrange to meet up with some like minded Cov fans and go at it somewhere out of the way of everyone else.

Hopefully the police will realise there's potential for trouble and have a plan, won't hold my breath tho. Would make sense to keep them in the ground till everyone else has cleared off and then load them straight on to coaches back to Sunderland.

Oh don't be silly, the police love little flares of violence. They get quotas on how many fans to lift that match day, to fill their coffers. Few handbags, then a few fines, everybody wins.

Nine pages of absolute drivel....

Funny thing is none of them actually appear to have been close to it bar one, unless I’ve missed something skimming it.

Be very surprised if both games aren’t midweek next season.

I'd be VERY surprised if Sunderland haven't re-thought their safety strategy for the Stadium of Shite before next season!

Until this season I thought this rivalry was a bit mad and didn’t care about them either way. Now I actively dislike them, they’re fucking looney. That has to be the most twisted biased forum in the country. We all saw both sets of fans kicking off at both games but not the angelic Sunderland lot, they only saw scummy Cov fans and brave Sunderland warriors protecting women and children while the corrupt police blamed them. Absolutely mad.

Love that quote about a 5 year banning order making you think twice about getting involved.
Think that's the point mate,

They had a load of fans down he'll bent on trouble and I only know that because my mate who's a Mackem told me in the casino afterwards.
I didn't see any trouble myself.

I sat on the hill by the underpass watching both sets being as bad as each other at the Ricoh. Don't know hwy they think they're so blameless.
