How do you know no one is bothered if he’s not allowing the public to be bothered one way or another. I think people are bothered and he knows it. Which is why he didn’t turn up.
It doesn't matter what the public thinks until it comes to putting their 'X' in th box though does it?
As we have seen - turning out is the only real way to show you are actually bothered. Not enough do it because generally politics revolves around stuff perceived to be on a different plane to most of the general public. They don't think it affects them in daily life. Middle of the road politics (or marketing as we might call it!) has left us thinking it is all just too bland & makes little difference o e way or the other.

Has there been any more on Johnson alleged comments on 7/7? It seemed to be around for 5 minutes and then just gone away completely. Legal writs? Proven to be untrue? It just seems surreal the amount of stuff about him that kind of gets a whisper and then disappears - so little about the alleged love child(ren) and affairs gets fleshed out so to speak. Seems to have the media in his pocket.

One person present at the meeting said he said it the other person says he can’t recall him saying it. Was about more than 7/7 though, started blaming the enquiry on Tony Blair because he allowed an enquiry into the sinking of the Marshoness after the family’s campaigned for years for one. Enquires into something bad that needs explaining are wrong. Allegedly. Although the other guy hasn’t said that he definitely didn’t say it, just that he can’t recall it. Much like Oliver North.

The "I don't recall" is usually a sure-fire sign they did. Someone saying "fuck the families" after a terrorist atrocity is something you'd bloody remember. I'd at least say "I didn't hear him say that"

I don't think the result matters in this election. As long as it goes the full twelve rounds, where they can knock the shit out of one another.

Definitely not the winning but the taking apart.

So Rabb is out and there’s going to be a Boris and Stewart stand-off. Could be good viewing. Certainly not expecting any of the others to challenge Boris, they’re all vying for a place on his cabinet now. Wouldn’t be surprised if they gang up on Stewart.

Boris would be mad not to offer Rory Stewart foreign secratary.
Though Rory Bremner could do a better job of it than Boris did

Every time they show the public they have no policies or strategy to turn the country around.... Brexit or no Brexit they are redundant.

Typical BBC, only pushing Boris and only attacking him. Being nice and letting Stewart talk shit. But as soon as Boris says something she attacks him with something random.

At least call them all out on shit? Seems obvious why Boris refuses these debates.

Boris hasn’t said anything other than what’s happened.

Yeah that's right Boris refuses these debates because he's picked on

Not because he has no policies, no grasp of the big issues, no plan for Brexit, has a history of lying and u turns and has more skeletons in his closet than Canley crem.

You both missed the point.

I have no problem with him being picked on. It is that HE IS THE ONLY ONE.

They all avoid the questions. They all lie. They all lack policy and plans. They should all be treated the same. It's called being impartial which clearly isn't happening.

You've missed the point, you have implied the reason he misses these debates is because he's picked on.
I don't think it is, I think it's because it shines a light on his many short comings.

Whether he's picked on or not isnt relevant to the point I'm making.

But the reason it shines a light is because as I said above he is the only one who is pushed on every word he says.
You mentioned being picked on not me. So that's a bit of an odd comment? However, if you didn't address the whole of my point, do you not agree that all of them should receive the same treatment?

All of these candidates have shortcomings. So show them all up.

No he isn’t. Gove has had more than anyone. All Boris has had is a reminder of what he’s said. Are you suggesting that he shouldn’t be challenged on what he’s said? That’s not a debate.

No he hasn't. You must be watching a different debate.
No you must be struggling to read. I have said that he should be challenged. But so should everybody. That makes it a FAIR debate.

Rory Stewart needs to be pushed more. He's being left alone because he's the outsider. Let the others push him at least if she isn't willing to. Hunt who is second so far, is very very quiet and never pushed after his answers. He seems to answer the most sensibly admittedly so there is less to attack about so far but there are things he could be pushed on.

Is Gove vying to become the Tory leader or the Labour leader? He seems to be lining himself up against Corbyn not the other candidates for the Tory leadership.

Agree with this.

I think the best out of the bunch is hunt.

If everybody didn't know what Gove was really like people would probably like him.

Javid might as well drop out now.

Can’t see it being anyone else but Hunt and Boris in the final two now and hoping that Tory members can see through the empty echo chamber that is Boris.

Gove and Javid are done for sure.

Was a bit of a shit debate. Channel 4 debate was better. They needed the opportunity to debate with each other. Not with the BBC lady butting in.

Agree I have always said it would be hunt and Boris. Would want Hunt out of the two. I think he has come across quite well throughout. But again his past doesn't exactly inspire confidence but personally would give him the benefit of the doubt.

How many votes is it they need tomorrow?

I think Gove will get through. I actually expect javid and Stewart to be gone tomorrow.

I think they continue voting knocking out last place until there’s two left. The only thing that can speed that up is someone dropping out otherwise 3 more rounds of votes.

Oh really. For fuck sake... Just get it over with. Keep increasing the tally. It seems obvious javid and Stewart won't get it.

Let’s be honest, that was shambolic. Probably justified Boris not turning up to the previous one. Too many people wanting to get heard, gove looking into the wrong camera, Hunt staring right through the correct one (scary !), Rory making a point of being overly honest.

Works with two or three people but not with more
