Obviously not an issue, nothing to do with him watching games from Hoffman's box.

Or some toe curling fake laugh interview with Combover Elliot

so what does everyone think is going on here?
The timing of this is a bit strange coming so soon after the Joy interview.
Anyone got any theories as to what the agenda is? I personally haven't a clue though it's proven a few things most of us were already fairly certain about regarding the cartels involvement in all of this. .

Its set in stone some things, although it still leaves questions.

He was part of the consortium when they made their last bid, so does that mean Wasps were not involved then?
What exactly was Wasps involvement? To discuss CCFC playing at the Ricoh in the event of a successful takeover, or as willing partner in the bid? He really isn't clear on that. Shouldn't he know exactly how they were involved?
Was it Wasps, or the owner operating independently?
Was Overson playing both sides in this? He is close to CCFC after all...
He clearly had some involvement in the consortium, so If he's now out, why not make an approach of his own?

Nah, just turn a blind eye until it's SISU.

Where's the Trust statement condemning it?

Don’t you mean applauding it?

Wasps involvement was enough to make him disagree and drop out of the consortium wasn't it?

Does it make much of a difference if it was Wasps or their owner independently or is that just to try and have a play on words? ;)

So where does this leave Duggins and his "If Gary and Joe owned the club there would be a deal done tonight at the Ricoh".

How did he know that? He wasn't involved in discussions as it's between Wasps and the club.

Didn’t Hoffman in his interview on CWR when his consortium made its first offer pretty much say that a deal to secure the long term future of the club at the Ricoh was agreed in principle? You may be clutching at conspiracy theories there if my memory is correct.

I was on about Duggins saying it on the radio. The same as he has also indicated since about having a say in talks with other statements.

Yes, but it would help to know exactly why wouldn't it? what he's said is so vague, it's really just a sound bite.

Depends if its the owners dosh or Wasps i suppose. I dont know if it makes a difference really, just putting it out there.

Far too many people are more interested in what they can get out of the football club, the same as it's been for years.

It's like the film Copland, the football club is sylvester stallone and the rest are just bent cops

I understand that. I’m making the point that Hoffman said it 2 years ago on the radio. Repeating what someone has already said publicly is not the backbone of a conspiracy theory.

Didn't you get the memo? We've all designated you as custodian of the football club while we all get on with nit picking at every statement that's issued... ;);)

Do you think Duggins would have remembered what Hoffman said a couple of years ago? It certainly didn't sound like it the way he was going on about Gary and Joe.

Overson to join Sisu now JS is on her own, he already puts money in for the academy, ohh now that would really put some people’s backs up

A rare moment of candour, if only more like Richard Overson were prepared to speak their mind so credit to him for that as well as the generous donation. It's all very well the Council saying they voted unanimously on the Wasps deal but politicians taking collective responsibility doesn't mean individually they agree with it. We need public servants to speak openly about where they really stand in this mess because the maneuvering by Wasps/Council is a distraction for Mark Robins while he tries to get us up, is a disservice to generations of CCFC supporters and insult to the intelligence of Coventry residents.

the whole consortium thing has been clueless from the start. It wasn't ever going to succeed but the performance of its leaders ensured that.

Fed up of the whole lot of them, SISU, CCC, Wasps, Consortium, EFL etc playing games to suit their agendas.

Now it amounts to PR wars from all sides. So what is going on that we are not being told?

Sick to death of it

On a personal level, I hope we stay at Birmingham for the whole season, just to see where wasps are at come this time next year financially, fuck them
Unfortunately they will be just fine. Especially when stadium revaluation is competed.

I am genuinely puzzled why someone who clearly is very successful - Hoffman - has made such a pigs ear of it - the consortium is just a farce

The problem with the SISU / CCC breakdown was it got so personal, the WASPs deal IMO was deliberately executed to spite SISU but in doing so had massive impact on CCFC

I think as far as SISU and Wasps are concerned you have two entities trying to break each other. Nothing more complicated than that. They are both as bad as each other, and indulge in tit or tat decisions that suit the individual owners agendas. Both take decisions with a calculated and expected result, in the hope of distressing the other side.

I wouldn't trust anything said by any of the parties involved unless i could prove it from another source. They all deflect responsibility and point the finger of blame at others. They all play with words and rarely if ever give a straight answer.

I think you're giving them too much credit mate.
They've been hopeless at best and at worse have allowed themselves to be manipulated in order to push an agenda.
It sounds like they only asked him about the donation and he provided the rest himself. It appears to be a dig at them for not asking before.

The trust will come out with some bollocks that makes light of the situation.

“Everyone needs to stop the blame game for the good of Coventry City - and a return to the city”

If SISU did something however:
They need to sell up! Gary Hoffman is waiting with a deal etc”

Are Wasps trying to break SISU or CCFC?

Question needs to be were Wasps financially involved in the consortium? If NO then this is really a non story that should not come as a shock to anyone. If anything it shows the buyers were doing due diligence on what they were buying and the cost it would incur in regards to the stadium. I don't think talks or potential future agreements were ever denied by Hoffman were they?

So all this is strange, timing, wording and the fact he announced he is no longer is part of the consortium but would be interested in buying the club in the future creates more questions than answers. Is he trying to distance himself from those he knows JS will not deal with? Is he really still interested in buying? And if so and he can deal with JS, Wasps will still be at the other end of the table holding the keys.

The more that comes out of this, the more I think SISU aren’t the bogey man they’re portrayed as. Certainly seems like there’s attempts to undermine the ownership of CCFC and enforce some sort of regime change.

Last 3 seasons they’ve backed the manager, and we’re a club on the up. Wasps and the Council are the main barriers to a RICOH return right now.

The past is the past, but in more recent years, the tide has turned in my view.

Exactly.

He was involved with the SISU regime too so I’ve always been at least slightly suspicious in trusting him to run this club better than our current owners. The Preston Haskell saga was exciting, but trusting someone like Dale Evans? That was enough for me.

He isn’t the knight in shining armour we wanted to believe.
