Bell & Baker - (3 Viewers)

Will be leading our attack in Div 1 2012/13 even then they will be both out of their depth. These were both given extended contracts why oh why, Bell was on the pitch for approx 60 mins where we were clearly the better team but contributed nothing, he is so poor 3 season of promises but no performance. Baker isn't much better, offered no outlet, when he did receive the ball in our half with clear space in front he went for the long ball as he has no pace. As an impact sub Baker just didn't do anything - relegation is bad enough but to have those 2 sorry excuses for footballers next season doesn't bear thinking of.

Baker did better than bell, but still was poor.
Both should do well in league 1.

Both Bell and Baker are still unfit. Both have the ability and have run games for us in the past.

Trouble is, they can't string two matches together without limping off.

Why do we think they will do better in Div 1 granted there will be lesser quality opposition but they will only be getting slower and just because they are not championship quality doesn't mean they will be Div 1 quality either. wingers without pace can be effective John Robertson etc.. but on the whole it is a key quality and they lack this in abundance. I hope they are both moved on.

Im sorry but david bell is honestly an absolute disgrace of a footballer. I have only seen him contribute positively to about 3 games in the whole time hes been at the club. Hes an utterly spineless waster.

Wouldn't say he is a disgrace, but he does epitomise everything that is wrong about Coventry City football club on the field of play.

We have to to get rid, we simply have to.

Ched Evans was complete shit in the Championship, now has 35 goals this season....

This guy scores everywhere even when the opposition says no

While a case could be made for them for perhaps not hitting the form we expected of them previously, however to point the finger last night is crass to the extremes. If you cant notice that a player is unfit or out of touch after not playing for a long time then you ought to stop going.

I wonder how many training sessions Baker has had in the last week, after 10 minutes we could see players such as Platt were limping yet still went out and gave their best. McSheffrey was also similar. Yes there is blame to be pinned but as I said last night I find it hard to lay the blame at the feet of players and managers when they have had no support whatsoever from the board.

Yep, it was plain to see that Baker was there just to make the numbers up and was nowhere near fit. He was the only attacking option from the bench so had to come on for a last throw of the dice.

Don't think Bell was fit either, but he has now been here 3 years and you could probably count about 10 games or so in all that time where he has played well for us.

We have to get rid of David Bell to have any chance of any success in any division I feel. He is a passenger for most games and lacks spirit and fight and determination. He flits in and out of games and we cannot afford that type of luxury.

Cos Thomas himself has only just come back from injury and bigi is bang out of form.

But Bigi doesn't offer any attacking threat does he.

Don't think thorn could have done any different in changing the personnel and could only have changed tactics or systems.

At the start of the season people were saying that in the kids squad he was playing at the tip of the diamond and possessed a rocket of a long range shot. Maybe Thorn has been playing him out of position?

ONLY Baker.

Have always tried to give David Bell the benefit of doubt but now the time has come to get shot. Three years he has been here now ..... THREE bloody years. How many good games has he given us in those 3 years? :thinking about::thinking about:

Has he put a descent tackle in in those three log painful years?

Here here. That was half a team of injured players last night. Baker and Hussey in particular couldn't sprint, yet both gave it their all. Baker was knackered after 5 minutes: he had no right to be on the bench given his lack of fitness, but who else was there?!

David Bell

Has anyone got anything positive to say about him?

All I can think of is that he has lovely white boots. It's such a shame that he doesn't want to get them dirty by kicking a football

David Bell will still be shit in league 1, just be more of the same from him. 3 yard passes backwards and throw in the occasional cross or shot.

Baker should be a good player for us next year in league 1.

All this is assuming we get relegated btw. ;)

Agree. Think David Bell would be a waste of space whichever division he is in. He lacks spirit, determination, fight and drive. I honestly believe that half the time he is going through the motions.

Baker should be a good player for us in League One.

David Bell was a terrible signing, one of the slowest wingers I've seen. Can't defend when tracking back, no desire, fight, verve, vigour, determination, drive, passion, courage or willing in him. Amazed he managed to wangle a new contract. Wonder if Luton want him back.....

He's half the pace he was before the re-occurring injury (first suffered at Norwich) that has essentially wrecked his career.

You dramatising a touch.... Bell has contributing nothing in his time here. Yes he is a disgrace and is a contributing reason why this club has been relagated this season. We must never again sign players like Bell and Baker. This club rewards failure and it's got to change when the new owners come in.

Bell was doing pretty well at the end of last season when Thorn put him in the centre of midfield, he's had some good games this season but has been a shadow of the player he was when he got that 4 year contract. I have never seen Baker play well, my cousin saw him play for Stockport as he's a Charlton fan and said he was a great player so hopefully he hasn't lost confidence over the past 2 seasons and can play a big part, if he stays.

Does anyone think that the apprentice award that Bigirimana won in March will be his ticket out of here? Burnley were interested last month so he's another player who I don't expect to stay. I think there's going to be fire sale next season and a likely administration, let's face it we're up for another relegation battle if SISU stay.

Baker was brill in his first few games for us, since then he has been mostly poor. He was found out & has no reposte. But he will piss on League One defenders.
