Joy Seppala makes accusation that wasps were involved in Bid & wanted control of CCFC - wasps issue reply stating categorically wasps were not involved & neither was the wasps chairman, and oh look Joy & big bad SISU are lying again they say

Person directly involved with the bid & one of the financial backers confirms he pulled out because wasps were involved in the financial backing & its stated they were to take ultimate control of CCFC - wasps decline to comment

hmmmm

Of all the parties involved only Richard Overson doesn't have a position to protect
What would he have to gain by saying that Wasps were involved in the takeover bid if it wasn't the case?
He sponsored the Academy instead
I know who I believe

How amateurish is the consortium to have not made signing an NDA the first action of anybody even remotely involved? I know Hoffman has had some top jobs but he doesn't half seem to get stuff wrong a lot

Sorry, I don't like consipiracy theories.
I would like to know whether when the council were talking to Wasps before the Northampton move, they were very quick to say ACL were looking at buying them. Was this true or was there, even then, a plan for Wasps to buy CCFC?
Some things about it don't add up - how could ACL have bought anything if they were struggling, etc

I know we should not fully believe any of them but if CCC have been scheming since then I cannot find the words to express my thoughts!

I guess the full truth will never come out.

What is a conspiracy theory?

ACL also bid on the club when it went into administration, they were parading Haskell round like it was a done deal when they applied to put the club into admin.

They just didn't know that SISU were one step ahead and did all the preparation for it so it backfired.

There is evidence that the council were attempting to bring London Wasps to the Ricoh before our rent strike started.

The Council are represented on ACL's board by two members, so the council were well aware of what was happening and would have had to approve as shareholder any decisions / finance in respect of buying out Wasps. To try and make out it was ACL is disingenuous but par for the course with that rotten lot.

American Tycoon eyes Sky Blues - but Sisu have options

It's deleted now on the telegraph site but some of the wording is odd.

However, although ACL have seized the initiative to force a change of ownership, Sisu could turn the tables as the apparent end game plays out.

The Coventry Telegraph can confirm that the American, who has a fortune estimated at $250million (£157m), is being lined up by Ricoh Arena owners ACL to take over the football club.

This could force out Mayfair-based hedge fund owner Sisu, which has ploughed more than £40m into the club and had hoped to acquire a stake in the Ricoh.

I wonder if Chris West and Martin Reeves knew anything about that?

They don’t help themselves do they? Councils should be open and transparent, CCC seem desperate that nothing is ever questioned, and not just when it relates to CCFC and the Ricoh.

Weirdly, they seem to think public opinion is on their side and the strange social media accounts must be doing a great job.

It seems to me the council have dug a very big hole for themselves, and it just keeps getting bigger the more that comes out. That sounds like the response of someone under pressure.

Wonder if this is the same sort of not involved as with the PR company who were copying the council in on emails?

I get the impression, and before anyone leaps in this is just my gut feeling rather than anything I have evidence for, that CCC are being led down a path to tie themselves up in knots. Their responses seem to be predicated and followed later by something that contradicts their various statements.

There is definitely a game being played, and maybe it is that one. All this info coming out at once? definitely not a co-incidence.

tbh, i'm amazed that CCC legal people haven't stepped in ages ago to stop Duggins et al commenting on anything...

They should have stopped after he first went on the radio and blustered through it and contradicted the line they had taken previously when he said that SISU had been trying to talk to them about land. This seems to have been when SISU's ears perked up and they went for it.

I don't doubt they knew Overson would confirm that Wasps were involved so Joy put it out there, let them all deny it and then he mentioned it to make them look silly.

Makes you wonder what else is known and is going to come out.

Have heard that some stuff will come out in the next 4/5 weeks. St Andrews may not be needed after all.

As a caveat this is only something that has been passed on and I have absolutely no evidence for it.

Rumours going round that ACL have laid off staff today and there was a problem paying wages. All not well there it would seem.

Interesting Ferret. Should be an easy one to have confirmed in time if people actually laid off.
Yes people losing jobs is not a nice manifestation of the situation.
