Brighton underwrit a spend of 25 million 2 seasons on the trot before they got up.
Villa have spent 90 plus million in the 2 seasons they were down.

Wilder only spent 8 at Sheff Utd, quite an achievement.

Firstly it's good to see a more positive Ccfc and much improved communication from those running the club. That is to be applauded. Above all it is good to see the positivity from and for the team which basically starts from Robins. He is the breath of fresh air.

A couple of things though from what Boddy said.

I really don't see where any potential compromise can come in. Both sides have nowhere to go and are entrenched. Both sides are putting things in action to reduce risk from the other which in turn pushes any potential compromise further away. Boddy is basically saying what he has always said wasps need to move their position because Sisu won't.

Surely ryton is only worth 7m if sold for development. Any buyer would require it as a training ground or have to build an alternative. As a training ground it is nowhere near worth 7m. The cost of having to build a new one would devalue the 7m in any deal

The playing squad might have a potential value of 12m in a vendors eyes but you would not pay that unless the potential is realised. So any bid would not be straight cash now, which is what Seppala would want I believe (ie a clean break). Also what happens if players don't hit their potential (sale price in effect) wouldn't the purchaser want to factor that in? Any add ons may never happen so you wouldn't pay those until they did so terms of valuing the club now they add no value at all

But there is also what they call the football creditors to be factored in which would bring the club value down . I seem to remember that a football finance expert put the value of Ccfc at just over 1m not so long ago. It won't have changed by tens of millions.

I remain sceptical as to whether Ccfc will return to Coventry let alone the Ricoh. It seemed to me also that wasps were making five year plans without Ccfc judging from the comments made. I do not see Ccfc coming back this season let alone in a few weeks or months. "But the EFL have set it as a condition" they may have but what are they going to do if one of their members can demonstrate there is no where available to do so ?

They keep using this 2m as the cost to wasps but that is just the turnover what about the costs wasps save or the cost savings they can make to cover it. With cost savings and redundancies will wasps be worse off ? It is not the turnover that hurts wasps it is any loss of net profit and cash flow timing.

I would also think Seppala is very much driven by the potential for personal financial loss and not just that of her investors. The long term well being of Ccfc or building a new stadium is way down the list.

Also, Wasps have changed their stance from ‘drop the legals’ to ‘Sisu and CCFC must be personally accountable to any compensation should Wasps lose’. Whilst Wasps maintain that stance, we can’t return to the RICOH at the risk of bankrupting the club. It’s not even worth it for a rent deal.

I honestly want to see Wasps and CCFC working harmoniously, and I don’t believe it is just SISU preventing that from happening!

Even though he's a blade there are rumours all is not well between him and the board.
You're right, a big team should be watching how that pans out and thinking of making a move for him.

What investment exactly? What do you mean by investment? Seems to me that it has been based on player trading, and short term cash flow funding not additional investment, certainly up until May 2018 . After that we have no idea and won't until February next year and the year after. Just to be clear I see no wrong in that way of financing the club.so don't take it as pointing a finger at Sisu..... Don't get me wrong, I'm not endorsing sisu, but maybe Hoffman isn't the white knight many of us originally thought.
I've no doubt he's well intentioned but the causes of concern are piling up, from seemingly been taken in by Dale Evans to involving wasps.

I would much sooner Hoffman and his group than Sisu any day. Sisu have lied consistently over their time in charge and have carried out actions that have actually harmed our club. They are still here after 11 years of turmoil and hold onto the club like a limpet.
Hoffman is a City fan, he comes from a City supporting family. He would only want what is best for the club. There is t any ulterior motive, he hon hareholders to satisfy. If he and his group turn out to be a poor owners, I am pretty sure that they would pass the baton on to omelette else far more easily than Sisu. It seems that Sisu’s primary concern is their investors, what these people want isn’t always( never?) in the best interests of the club. Hoffman has already said that neither he or his group expect any return on their money.
Richard Overson was still complimentary about Hoffman, there doesn’t appear to be any animosity there at all. Best option would be for Wasps and Sisu to go. I want our club back. For that to happen Sisu need to go.To get the ground back, we need Wasps to clear off.

The big test now will be her promise on a new stadium in Coventry which he confirmed that she has told him she will build. Does anyone really believe that Sisu will do this?

Correct but I cannot see either doing that cos they are up to their arses in debt and debt is easy to manage on paper until such time the lenders start to pull in the loans and then SH1T hits the fan.

I don't, and I worry what will happen if Robins starts to think he's had the wool pulled over his eyes.
But I also worry that if Hoffman and co take over they will commit the club to a long term deal which is only beneficial to wasps and while securing the club's future in Coventry offers little else.

If we are to have aspirations above being a yo yo team between League 1 and the Championship, then there’s no chance of working in harmony with London Wasps.

They’re going to be aiming to be the biggest sporting club in the city and will want us to have a glass ceiling above our heads.

My first reaction to Wasps buying the RICOH was that they won't fill it as rugby teams just don't fill stadium 25k+ on a weekly basis. So Wasps are operating at their ceiling, or any growth will be quite low.

They haven't built their state of the art academy or training facilities, their best players are wanting out, worse still, Coventry isn't an attractive place for free agents. The wheels could come off very quickly over at Wasps HQ.

For Coventry City, lets just focus on getting back to the Championship before anything as any long term exile from Coventry is not in our interests either.

I do believe we'll return to the RICOH at some point this season.

This is my concern. One season will very quickly become two. The club have already said it wasn’t just Birmingham who were prepared to let us rent. Just can’t see a hedge fund pay to build a stadium.

You may well be right I don't know the ins and outs of the deal but if the figures being banded around regarding what sisu want for city are anywhere near true then you would say they are asking far too much.
But like you say, it's worth what someone's prepared to pay.

It's probably not possible due to NDA agreement or something but I would really love it if the club or SISU said exactly what this extra clause Wasps want the club to be signed up to. We have heard it's not viable etc and is not fair what they are asking but would be great to know the actual detail of what Wasps are demanding.
