I think the idea is we are signing players who will believe that Birmingham is part of Coventry.

Most probably.

Having now studied him, I would describe him as a cross between Pele, Cruyff, Madonna and Leigh Jenkinson, only better.

Except for than Leigh Jenkinson of course.
Only The Flying Postman can claim to be...or maybe Ray Woods on a good day.

I love these articles. I know they're puff pieces really but knowing that our transfer dealings are because of actual scouting - rather than agents cold calling MR and saying "I've got this guy available on a free/loan" - is such a relief.

I have to admit, CT articles where Badlan has discussed his processes are hugely informative. Certainly a change from their usual drivel.
Yeah, they're really interesting articles.

Am always tempered by the fact he's going to big any signing up (he's hardly going to say he's shit, but we can't afford anybody else and he's the only one gullible enough to join us and hey, his youtube 5 minute video makes him look adequate) but they still fill me with just a little bit of optimism and enthusiasm ;)

Perhaps. I still think we will sign another right winger. I think Alassani and Wakefield were low risk signings and both of their contracts expire at the end of this season anyway I believe.

Jones won’t be back straight away and then could struggle. Hiwula could be played up front. Wakefield and Alassani haven’t been given much of a chance yet and are both young so may just be a case of give them another season yet before making any decision.

We have a yoghurt out here called Jogobella. I just know I'm gonna be calling him that all season.

I originally thought this lad had all the hallmarks of a cross between Denzel Slager, Francis Laurent and Orlando Smeekes, but having read this article I'm convinced he's the Martinique version of the flying postman.

His crossing on the run looked very good, can't beat a bit of good old fashioned wing play, give me that over the Man City pass them to death stuff any day

He did that both sides as well, there was one later on where he did the same but cut it back when I was expecting a cross.

Nearly led to a goal but it was blocked on the line.

I hear this lad has had two ACL injuries but has recovered well
Very encouraging for Max, who's looking after him as he doesn't speak much English and JJ who's continuing his rehab

He looked like he just needs a bit of fitness, once he got going he was much quicker but he looked as if he was trying to save a bit of energy.

Another good thing we have the majority of the squad in at the start of pre season. Last season we had none of the following for most or all of pre-season.. Sterling, Willis, Bayliss, Kelly, Chaplin, Bakayoko, Hiwula to name just 7. Its no coincidence we struggled to make a good start to the season. This season with a favourable run of early fixtures hitting the ground running will be a huge advantage
