Oh wellplayed for Chelsea tonight as most their players are unavailable- he’s now being absolutely slaughtered by Chelsea fans on Twitter
Toby fayre, I thought he was v poor 5 games in, but gained confidence and played well after that.Quite a few of us were very quick to judge him too to be fair
I was at that game and he was poor. He did get some grief but was it really that bad?I remember being at Bristol Rovers and the abuse he was getting was absurd. Granted it wasn’t a particularly glowing personal performance but all those around him were shite too, but for some reason the level of abuse sterling received was some of the worst I’ve heard directed at our own player. I’m sure he’ll bounce back, if not at Chelsea, he’ll be an asset to someone else next season

ok in league one - Nowhere near ready enough for the top end of the premier league

Not quite true is it. Grimmer was injured at the start of the season hence Sterling started. When Sterling lost his place Grimmer came in and was no better so lost his place then I think its clear Sterling was the better player.This.
It wasnt really until the Sunderland game where he filled in at LB before he really had a decent game. He gained confidence and pushed on from there.
Before that he was dodgy. And fans, rightfully, were critical. He had just walked in to the team ahead of Grimmer. Who after all had just helped us to promotion with a fantastic goal at Wembley.

The criticism of Sterling was unjust and the cringey lovefest with Grimmer was based on him liking some tweets as far as I can tell.
Nothing to do with Grimmer being instrumental in our first promotion in over half a century then, or his stand out goal at Wembley in the play off final? Just a like on Twitter and nothing more I take it! Ffs some people. Not quite true is it. Grimmer was injured at the start of the season hence Sterling started. Instrumental no, effective in league 2 sure. Great goal at Wembley too. However, he was limited in league 1 and sterling started ahead of him on merit. Those that felt Grimmer should have been starting at RB last year over Sterling must have been watching different games to most of the fans.Nothing to do with Grimmer being instrumental in our first promotion in over half a century then, or his stand out goal at Wembley in the play off final? I think you'll find we probably had an agreement with Chelsea to guarantee him game time.
