Should we offer Dom Hyam a much longer deal?

I believe we should tie him down to a long contract, past his current one which ends 2020.

He'll only get better as he matures further with his composure evident to see already.

If there was a 'shock' sale to a champ club over the summer... the two names that come to my mind are Hyam and, to a lesser extent, Hyam.

Agreed, he only signed a new deal extension last summer until 2020. I believe he deserves a better/longer one.
Wouldn't wanna lose him for nothing or tribunal next year.

I thought he had another year to run after this. Signed a two year deal initially and a two year extension last summer so I read it as 2021 but it appears not. In which case I’d get it sorted out.

Now we appear to be running like a proper football club we should get to be like Peterborough where they sell anyone with a year left that doesn’t sign a new deal.

Maybe we should wait and see if we get promoted, and if so our budget and requirements may change.

Possibly, but if we went up and Hyam was given a new contract now, the money likely wouldn't be as vital and would be on a par with a squad/back-up player, which he would probably still be fine for. If he can step up we've got a decent defender on a relatively cheap wage for that level. Plus we can get a fee for him whereas if he runs his contract down he'll be like Willis and leaving on a free.

McFadzean isn't going to get any younger, Rose is an unknown quantity and the three U23 aren't ready yet. I've got no evidence to back it up, but I've got a good gut feeling about Pask.

Sure Boddy mentioned players having options in their contracts when they expired. Possibly Hiwula and Hyam are 2 of these

I think hes excellent, he reads the game so well, definitely the best from the 3 first team centre backs we had last season.

Edit: what happened to that CB youth teamer who went to Swansea? has he managed to make the step up?
