Going back to my sister and her dislike of sport. I bet she was the only person in the country who never watched the London Olympics. To me it was awesome and I watched it daily, I loved it all. She just couldn't be bothered she said. I said that was weird, but she laughed it off. The closing ceremony was also brilliant !

I would say they are well worth a read/look. It is a very clever series and it all starts off quite child like, with the kids being kids, but as they grow older the series becomes darker and darker.

I read the first couple of pages of one book and knew immediately it wasn't for me in any shape or form.

On the subject of books. I've never read Harry Potter or seen any of the films. But admire JK Rowling as a writer, I've read articles about her life etc, and she worked hard for her success it wasn't handed to her on a plate. I love Charles Dickens to me he was a literary genius, but he's not to everyone's taste, but to me he's our greatest ever writer.

I don't stop reading many books and i read a lot - but i started Cuckoo calling ( Cormerant Strike 1) by JK expecting it to be pretty good but i couldnt stay with it - then the TV adaption came along and i thought i would try again and because i could see the character it all fell into place and the second one is equally as good !

I read the first one when it came out when I was 17 and it was very much a kids book. But it got kids reading so that was fine by me. But they do get darker as the series goes on and by the end deal with some quite adult themes. If I'd have been at the right age at the time I think I'd have found them really good. There are numerous parts that are incredibly contrived and just make things way more awkward than necessary (and Quidditch is the most stupid game ever) but there are also some very well-written stories that get you invested in the characters.

Hobbit/LOTR annoys me a lot more - every fucking time it looks like it's the end call in the Eagles. Rather than spending a few thousand pages and endless hours traipsing across the land why didn't they just give the ring to the eagles and get them to drop it in the volcano? They seem to be invincible and it'd have saved everyone a lot of time and effort.

Love the sport. Never watch opening or closing ceremonies. Or any kind of pompous circumstance like Trooping of the Colour. Jingoistic nonsense to keep the sheep in line.

I think it's the largely gritty realism and writing the dialogue in accents that adds to it. Also stuff like Les Mis because of it. Also why I prefer Bronte to Austen - too fluffy. Not knocking her or others like her like George Eliot because that was how their upbringing was, but for me they're princess stories for small children.

So glad I am not alone when it comes to being completely uninterested in cars.
Also on my list would be:
Women’s football
food and drink. As long as it is reasonably healthy why go on about it and pay stupid amounts of money for wine that tastes just like any other wine or basic foods cooked in a slightly different way but in a smaller portion. Don’t understand why some food and drink needs to be discussed in so much detail. Presentation is not necessary to have a great tasting meal.

Getting so drunk I’m ill for days, out of pocket and can’t remember what I was doing. Not interested.

I don't like cricket to watch Nick but it's great to play as are most sports.But yesterday I was determined to watch it as it was a final, with England in it. It was Brilliant and what an ending. Cricket was my dad's favourite sport to watch and he played at a decent level, and he'd have loved yesterday. You're right I and others will forget about it soon, but what a sporting spectacular it was, even a non cricket fan like myself enjoyed it !

Wife spends a couple of hours each night watching Eastenders, Corrie, Emmerdale, etc. Bores me to tears. So I end up doing some....

Gaming. Never understood the attraction, especially amongst supposed grown-ups, and get quite irate when people suggest that "e-sports" should be in the Olympics.

Personal choice of course, but if you find a game you like, can be great fun. Playing solo, you're entertaining yourself. Playing on line, you're socialising with friends. All from the comfort of your chair, no inconvenience or annoyance to anyone else. It's a passtime and shouldn't be taken seriously, though a few nut jobs obviously do!

Having e-sports in the Olympics is a daft idea, toally with you there. Plenty of gaming events to satisfy someone if they are that involved.

Cricket is great to watch so long as you only watch the highlights.
There's a lot of really dull stuff between each highlight.
Basically, they should show each six scored, a selection of the best fours, each wicket that falls, and any time a batsman gets hit on the helmet by the ball.

Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat etc... All incredibly poisonous if used in very large doses and is definitely the causing a rise in mental health issues (awareness and knowledge has increased too but it seems to be every other person that is suffering)

Of course! It's kind of a bizarre question given that I have said i have "no interest whatsoever" in just ONE entertainment medium. It's like asking the many people on here who have said that they aren't remotely interested in cricket (for example) "Do you understand the attraction of any sporting event?"

Whilst I am a passionate and dedicated runner, I have absolutely zero interest in the 100metres/200metres, (or any field/throw/jump event for that matter)

Probably because now I understand more about it, it is just so different in terms of physiology/training from the stuff I do.

Also F1 racing... the golden years of Murray Walker/Mansell/Senna and even Damon Hill were fantastic... but now there are very few personalities, and (a very simplistic view) but all the cars look the same and you can’t tell what’s going on..... back in the day, you instantly knew a Benetton from a Williams/McLaren/Ferrari/etc.

I have never watched any reality tv in my life.

No interest in tea or coffee.

My girlfriend was complaining recently about how great her friends lives were. She said anytime she sees them on instagram or Facebook they're having a great time and look amazing.

I said to her that no one ever posts on instagram that they're at work or at home watching Emmerdale. It's always at a party or on holiday and the photo is the best of a hundred and it has filters on it.

I told her to look at her own timeline and it looked like she was living a jet set party lifestyle too but she's not.

It's a vacuum of narcissism that's ultimately very toxic and unfulfilling.
