You are correct.
Fair play, I hope you can turn the Trust back around into being a credible thing, it will take a lot of hard work. I'm a busy man, work full time, study part-time help to coach a kids team but I will try and get involved if it's something I feel is going in the right direction. For what it's worth.

Thanks for confirming CJ. It's a step in the right direction. It's people like that who have turned people against the Trust.

Can we assume from this that there are now 2 board positions available (Tim Kalns & Roger Ellis)? If so, when will elections be held?

We hold elections every year but we have space for someone to be co-opted now and then elected next year. If you or anyone is interested feel free to email me.

That isn't the case.
I honestly don’t doubt you @CJ_covblaze you come across as actively happy to take in all views.

But the likes of Johnson and Kalns, are a poison. I know Kalns didn’t get elected - but Johnson actively told Robins to mind his mouth and said he didn’t want anything to do with the club.

If I recall he was championing a Phoenix club

How can he be anywhere near a trust that should be linked to and supporting the club?

Why all that nonsense saying it wasn't him then. We're not stupid, we all clocked on and comes off as the trust being disingenuous and disenfranchises people.

I'd suspect it was easier for them all to just say anybody who mentioned it was on SISU's payroll etc over and over again with other strange accounts.

This. It's a good thing that Kalns wasn't appointed, however, it seems fairly futile when you have someone who was 'done' with the club, and is everything poisonous about the fanbase elected at the same time.

the weird thing about Johnson is despite his rhetoric I'm sure I saw him at some home games last season.

Then why the hell is such an odious individual involved? He no longer supports the club ffs it’s no different to having a Villa supporter involved.

You did he went to a few.
We all say things on social media and in the heat of the moment we don't actually mean.
Just look at the shit Me and Grendel post.

Not really.

Nobody writes a spur of the moment article describing how they have given up on the club and won't go, nobody does an interview making up a reason why they boycott games in the heat of the moment.

Of course, in the heat of the moment people might be pissed off and cross the line with insults but to say "I didn't mean it" doesn't really work with things like that. I might call you a bellend, you might call me one but we don't write press releases saying we are done with the club.

It's a start, still shows its a vanity contest, they knew the damage it would cause electing that moron and didn't want a further popularity hit. Still need more straight talking, don't want to use a Nickism but people aren't stupid, when Ellis was called out on here ages ago we got a refusal to confirm it was him from CJ, now again, just say Kalns is behind the accounts therefore hasn't been elected. It would get more respect from fans.
Ellis resigned due to his Granddaughter being seriously ill the shit on here and the disgusting remarks on facebook pushed him over.
Sorry but remarks like pedo and nonce are just completely out of order.

May have missed it but I haven't seen anyone on here call him a paedo or nonce. Most were annoyed that when asked if it was that Ellis, the disgraced former leader of the Rochdale council, there was no confirmation forthcoming. Just dodging it. If that abuse has come from Facebook it's hardly a surprise and a reason that he shouldn't have been allowed in the position in the first place.

What kind of supporter
A) advocates the eviction of his own club?
B) actively calls to let the club die and form a Phoenix club?
C) basically told one of the most successful managers the club has ever had to watch his mouth

Awaiting how you can justify someone like that being a spokesperson for the fans

Heat of the moment ;)

I wonder if the Jimmy hill way reigns will be handed over?

If it was heat of the moment... why is the statement still up

Or at least a follow on statement retracting your comments...

This is all about credibility of a group supposedly ‘representing’ us.... and it doesn’t have it at the moment, when it allows this to be unchallenged.

This may upset a few but to be quite honest I am sick to death of the Sky Blues Trust.
I have watched a live feed of a meeting before, it was the most pointless meeting that I have ever witnessed.
Questions not being answered, stupid questions being asked from the audience, things written down to follow up on (never to be heard of again).
The interviews that are done time after time, the same faces, the worthless statements....it’s all getting too much.
I have no doubt that everyone involved supports the club, but in my opinion it’s time to scrap the whole lot.
Fresh faces, fresh ideas, fresh motivation.
Take a look at the Leamington supporters club, they engage with players, the supporters, the club, they do it for the fellow fan, not for themselves.
Rant over.

Frankly, it's pathetic - there are one or two on this messageboard in particular who should be ashamed, they give it large but turn up for absolutely nothing and offer nothing when it comes to it (we'll see who justifies themselves on that, and I'll snigger when it's people I didn't mean). How about emailing feedback to CJ on [email protected] (I have his permission to share that!) if you can't make it? Silence equates to apathy or consent.

This paragraph says it all.

In fairness it’s not the Trust constantly bringing the Trust up on here it’s mainly people telling how much they can’t stick the Trust or wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole that’s okay but in fairness there was an opportunity to scrap the whole lot and bring in fresh faces, fresh ideas and fresh motivation on Monday thing is to influence that you need to be there.

I see a lot of comparison to the L&W supporters club, but one key to remember is that the Sky Blue Trust is likely to be continually political, even though they should probably tone it down a bit from their current stance. They are essentially a pressure group, there to hold the owners and board to account over certain things. That’s not to say they should continually criticise, but equally because of that I’d prefer the Trust to actually keep distance from the players. It should act more like the SCG but more fan-driven than club-driven.

Different kind of entity to the L&W supporters club. This is what the aims etc of the Trust are

Aims & Objectives

The Sky Blue Trust is an independent, democratic, not for profit, supporters’ group which operates transparently and with membership open to all Sky Blues supporters.
The Sky Blue Trust wants a Coventry City Football Club which has success on the pitch, is financially stable and rooted in the community. We believe that greater involvement of supporters is vital for the future of the Club.

The Trust’s Aims are:
· To build and maintain membership of the Trust;
· To secure supporter involvement in the ownership and management of the club;
· To advocate financial stability for CCFC, with a business model based on avoiding unsustainable debt, and profits being reinvested directly in the Club;
· To have City fans recognised as the lifeblood of the Club and at the heart of everything CCFC does.

To achieve these Aims the Trust will:
· seek to work in partnership with the Club and all other stakeholders in CCFC;
· represent and give voice to the views of Trust members;
· pursue any viable opportunity to gain an ownership stake in CCFC;
· campaign for improvements to the match day experience.

If you want to read more about the Trust, you can follow the links on the menu for our website www.skybluetrust.co.uk to see a copy of our constitution, and answers to some common questions. Minutes of board meetings, and a profile of its members can also be found there

The Trust represents, or should do, the members not the whole fan base. It is also affiliated to Supporters Direct and independent of the club. It is also registered at Companies House

The L& W Supporters club as far as i can see is not a registered body other than with CCFC

its general objectives are as follows

General

1. To treat all fellow members and our guests with respect at all times
2. Not to engage in actions which would bring the club into disrepute
2. To focus upon our three core principles:

(i) Support the manager and players of Coventry City FC – this includes creating a closer bond between Leamington & Warwick based supporters and the manager and players
(ii) Arrange social events, including away travel, for Leamington and Warwick based supporters
(iii) Raise funds for local charities and to support initiatives in association with the manager/players at Coventry City FC

Have they forgotten about the other 3 other than trying to gain an ownership stake then?

Therefore, after more than 40 years of watching and following the Sky Blues, I am choosing to walk away from the grief and emotional turmoil that it has entailed, particularly during the Sisu era.

I hope that new owners, people who truly love Coventry City, who value the supporters and the whole Sky Blues Community, will eventually take control at CCFC. When that day arrives, I may be able to renew my ties to our football club.

After this, how exactly is that going to achieve any of those?

It needs to go back to basics and remember what the common thing is for all it's members, CCFC. Only then will people unite behind them.

Not up to me to explain, and everyone will have different opinions. i was just showing the differences between a supporters club and the Trust.

The Trust should be more than any one individual both in perception and reality is the only comment i would make

Of course but people need to be able to relate.

If somebody has said they have walked away and won't be bothering with CCFC, how are CCFC fans going to relate with that and back it? You only have to watch people at games, social media after games who through the week would have completely different views but it is CCFC that unites people and has people jumping around like dickheads when we score.

That has always been the thing with people like BHSB and LAST (just a couple of examples) as regardless of their views about the politics you could never doubt certain aspects of them (ie being bothered about the same thing at 3PM on a Saturday).

If somebody has said they have cut all ties, made up reasons to "boycott" and have pushed a phoenix club replacement multiple times it isn't really on the same level, is it?

Yes the Leamington and Warwick club isn't the same type of thing as the Trust but the reason it does so well is because it's all about CCFC, there's no reason the Trust can't be positive about CCFC and the football (sometimes, obviously not after we have been hammered) but still try to carry out their aims.

All I can say is, moving forwards, in the meeting we went to, there was zero mention of a phoenix club, and the board's emphasis was that their priority was to see Coventry City playing in Coventry.

Moving forwards, that's a decent message to get behind.

Surely that depends on how they hope to achieve that?

Even if it’s still forcing regime change to achieve with zero interest in targeting wasps?

It depends on the methods and their aims to do that surely?

What happens if / when we play in Coventry again considering some board members boycotted / didn't really bother then? What was the board's priority in trying to keep the club in Coventry and where does applauding people from Wasps help?

The point is more that people want to see more passion about CCFC, it's well and good when people give it the "I have supported the club for 57 years" type stuff but it's also about the here and now. People will naturally relate more and unite behind things then, that's why they do with the Leamington type clubs rather than when some of the the Trust seemingly don't have much interest in the actual football.
