We're not relegated yet. (3 Viewers)

Otis, you're stating things that haven't happened yet as fact again.

Yes, it's very unlikely we'll stay up. Highly improbable. Almost impossible. But we're not relegated yet.

What you are doing is verbally backing a dead-cert and the best that can happen is that you can say 'I told you so' at the end of it. And if we do by some miracle stay up, your posturing will be forgotten in everyone else's elation.

So do us a favour, and stop saying that things are 'fact' when they are in fact, not yet facts.

I'm not stating facts, I am stating my opinion.

Why would you think otherwise?

I think 'jesus give us a song' should be replaced with 'jesus give us a miracle'. Mathmatically possible but anyone with any sense knows we were down on tuesday night.

Pretty matter of fact.

To my mind we are down.

That is not stating a fact. Ibelieve we are down and so on my post put "we are down." I was not stating it as fact. Don't know why on earth you would think I was stating facts. This is a football forum where you can express your opinion. In my opinion we are down.

In what way does my saying "we are down" manifest itself as a fact?

If I say 'Gary Deegan is shit' does that mean it is a fact?

Just had a quick flick through threads on here and within 2 mins i found ....

'Clingan has been very good in the last 6-7 games'

'Clingan and Cranie won't re-sign and won't be replaced'

'Gary Hoffman is full of shit'

'Only Keogh, Nimely, Craine and Norwood are at a championship standard.'

'Next season we are going to be one of the biggest teams in League One.'

'Next season Walsall are going to be our closest rivals.'

6 different posts by 6 different posters. Are these facts or are they opinions? Maybe you should have a word with these posters too. ;)

I said at Christmas that we were down. Are you trying to tell me that i posted that at the time as a supposed fact too? Seriously? :thinking about::thinking about::facepalm:

We cant beat Millwall at home yet your expecting a win away a Southampton? And a Bristol side getting draws against Birmingham and West Ham losing to Barnsley? Give me a break

Just look at Barnsley's league form last 16 games:

P16 - W2 - D2 - L12 - F8 - A 28

Even worse away:

P8 - W0 - D1 - L7 - F4 - A14

Real stiff opposition for Brizzle don't you think ???

I can see Barnsley getting something from the match actually.

Bottom line is though we need to win 2 games and hope for Bristol and Pompey to fail.

Alright alright, it was an opinion. I recognise that.

However from the 6 posts you listed above, all of them (except one actually) are quite clearly opinions because they are all subjective comments and cannot ever be proven wrong. 'We are down' is factually incorrect because as we stand, we are not yet relegated. 'We are going down' an opinion. 'We're on our way down' also an opinion.

I fundamentally don't disagree with you. I guess I'm just being picky over semantics. I would class what you wrote (or what you were trying to say perhaps?) more of a prediction because I'm a pedant.

I'm only looking out for your own back you know. We wouldn't want you looking silly again ("I can't see any way we can get relegated from here"). ;)

Once we were out of the bottom 3, with the fixtures we had left, we really shouldn't have been relegated from there.

It's amazing when you look back at the fixtures we had (Peterborough / Millwall etc) and the fixtures Bristol had (Brum away, Wet Spam at home). Still stunned with that.

What I write are predictions and i would never try to decorate them as being facts.

I was convinced we were going down at Christmas and then when we got 1 point clear of the bottom 3 with very decent looking fixtures ahead of us I simply couldn't see how we could fail to not stay up.

What the fook do I know.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and their right to express them. I believe that quite fervently. I'm not going to say any more on the matter as I don't think it's really worth pursuing.

I thought we'd stay up after Hull. I got chills down my neck and I dared to dream.
I liken it to a rank outsider in the National leading going down the final straight, but just not having the legs to force itself over the line before the bigger boys pass it in the final stages.

I think if you look at Thorn and the squad as a whole, they've got nothing left to give. Yes, individual players have had poor seasons, but that will be the same at all clubs. Unfortunately at Coventry, those players out of form have largely had to play week-in week-out.

Now, I thought I would start off by saying that I agree with the majority in that we are almost definitely relegated now. But, the fact that we will be playing League 1 football next season still hasn't sunk in yet. So, what if Bristol lose or draw to Barnsley and we beat Donny, not an impossibility by any means. That would mean it would go down to the final day, with us having the 'nothing to lose' mentality at Southampton and Bristol being full of nerves against a Burnley side possibly needing a win to give them a chance of a play off place. It would undoubtedly be the escape to end all great escape's and whilst it is obviously massively unlikely, it isn't over till its over. Yeah, I've been dreaming.

You never know.
Burnley can not make the play offs, 10 points behind Cardiff.

Yep after the Hull game, with our fixtures we shouldn't have been relegated.

The players bottled it as soon as the pressure was on.
