Everyone should really stop eating meat.
Having so much land cleared and used for cattle and sheep is bad for the planet.
Fruits, grains and vegetables are what we should be eating.
That said, I do enjoy an occasional hamburger.
While there is land being cleared for cattle grazing, esp in developing countries, there is far more being cleared for agricultural crops and becoming monocultures like the vast expanses of rapeseed fields you see as you drive through the country are just as damaging to the environment just in a different way.
There is quite a lot of pastoral land than is used as such because it's totally unsuitable for crops due to nutrient levels, terrain etc.
Fake meat seems to disagree with me so now it's either real meat or I just stick with the vegetables. I can't do just vegetables for too many days in a row though because I end up with absolutely no energy whatsoever.
I'm of the opinion that insects may well be a replacement food source but this obviously will still be unacceptable to many vegetarians/vegans as it still involves the consumption of living creatures. But plants are living organisms too and you have to essentially kill a lot of them to eat them. Putting a carrot into boiling water is effectively boiling it alive.
