You have to show there's a demand...

If you want the trust to get in line with fans, what they ought to do is nothing, as it stands.

In which case what does the trust meeting numbers show?

Maybe the easiest option is just to get all outlets to understand that when they speak it's 1% of their membership let alone what it represents of the fan base so to remove their "voice"

It should be the trust selling itself to its members and new fans to sign up. It should be the trust building bridges with other fan groups.

Why does it need selling to the clubs own supporters trust that we shouldn’t be applauding an out of town rugby team whilst condemning our out of town exploits. franchising and MK Dons...
What could I do differently next time to make you come to a Wasps protest?

You’re missing the point - what could you do differently? Nothing - what you did was an amazing idea.

What I want is the voice of the fans to publically denounce wasps the evictors - and get behind something like this... they made it very clear they didn’t support your idea.

Apologies I wasn’t available on that Saturday. Had a nieces birthday to attend.

I've asked how this could happen before. Think I mentioned this site contacting media outlets, as a large group of fans, stating exactly what you have put Nick.
Who to contact, how to do it and what sway it would have I do not know.

He says a season ticket holder for many years whose unable to renew under current owners and that’s been his intro on the site for at least two years
Until this afternoon it was this:
View attachment 12619

It's wrong, he went weekly. He organises the bus from the Albany club.
I don't know whether he intends going to Brum but I'd imagine he isn't but he was a regular at 5he Ricoh.

Nick - ask supporters direct how SBT goes about being a voice of the fans....

That's what I don't get. Why the pretence of refusing to go but going.

Almost like a badge of honour, if he went every week then fair play to him

If it was intentional then it's strange, same with Johnson, if you're going to games then just say so.

It is a bit strange but if he was going to games it may have just been a cockup on the website.

He doesn't come with any history so a clean slate for him and what you and others have said he is a decent bloke so only fair he's judged on things from now. (He hasnt been making big grand statements to the press etc).

This site (and GMK!) are / were busy enough with people holding contrary views to one another.

If you can't sit in a room with somebody, point out you disagree, and not be prepared to try to influence direction then... you're Chuka Umunna.

So why aren't the Trust doing anything to influence and persuade those who don't feel represented?

I wouldn't get hung up on numbers attending an AGM proving any point. I have recently done the audits of three clubs with over 3000 members each, with a free pint available to the members who attended the AGM and the numbers there ? ........ 21, 25 and 32. Attendance numbers at the AGM send no real message at all let alone one that is loud and clear.

However those 21,25 or 32 who attended held considerable power to mould and shape the club they attend with the 3000 other members. It is also with those numbers relatively easy to change a policy direction or personnel just by a few more attendees

There was an opportunity to have your say if you could get there, four people that are regular posters from this forum took it.

Nick has a point about better use of technology and it should be addressed to get more people involved.

Communication is key but to drive decisions through requires man power and energy. Something in all honesty the Trust lack

I agree it should be about actions, but not only those of the Trust Board. Nick for instance has offered to help so you would assume he sees some worth in seeing a well run Trust. A trust that balances support of the team with healthy scepticism or challenges of the owners. That sees the negatives but also the positives. To that he also sees the need to robustly challenge other parties involved. I totally agree

There have been some good ideas on here, and ones that i have seen that i have relayed to the Trust myself. But an idea is just that. Unless it is capable of being implemented it is actually worthless. If it is that good follow it through dont expect others to do your work for you. The idea is the very easy bit

Want to change things then do something that brings a positive change - keyboard bashing on a forum doesnt.

Sadly it is a fact of life that those with the loudest and most aggressive voices actually do little and achieve the least.

Focusing on personalities in any of the organisations masks what is actually happening. The character assassination of personalities involved in the various parties that has gone on has been reprehensible, vile and sometimes simply contemptible (yes i mean to members of the Trust but also it includes Seppala and others). Focus on the issues and what has actually been done, how, why and when. Challenge those because in the end the insults lead to dialogue and contact ending and the party carrying on unchallenged

The Trust does need to up its game in certain areas, it does however need to remain independent. It needs direction, it needs to redevelop its ties with club and fans. It needs help

The issue it needs to focus on is how does CCFC return to play in Coventry, if indeed the owners plan to or wasps want them to.

I know many fans see the team taking shape, apparent "investment", an owner speaking up as some sort of reason to relax...... but as expected of the trust then actions are what it takes not words.... we as a club are a long way from out of the woods yet .............. There needs to be a strong well run body to challenge all parties including SISU, CCC, Wasps and CCFC ............ a supporters club aint it .......

The alternative is key board warriors posting on forums & social media that all the parties can simply ignore

To be fair, keyboard bashing between forum users and social media and forum posting has just raised a hell of a lot of money for people in need and also the logistics of all of that is being done via a forum (and a lot of headspace from MMJ I may add) so I think it's probably time to stop making everything revolve around meeting in a pub on a Monday.

That just shows that if you give people something to get behind and believe in then they will. That has seen me and schmeee work together (I know I have mentioned it before) and even Armybike has been pushing it hard on social media so fair play to him.

Have said it for years, people want and need something to get behind and they will if they believe in it. If the Trust had come out and said "SISU, Wasps, CCC we are coming for you all" (maybe not so threatening but you get my point) then a lot more people would have united behind them because of it. How many times have they hinted about "pressuring all sides" and then just gone on to do a SISU OUT protest while slipping half a sentence about Wasps or CCC into a statement and ticking it off? Of course SISU need pressuring, it doesn't mean Wasps should be given a free pass because they are in with Hoffman.

A genuine point about Trust's, are the low numbers because nobody really sees the point / use / value in them?

As for character assassination, I assume the Trust are completely innocent of that and when they give it the "he is on SISU's payroll"? Maybe they should be setting the examples if they get upset when a bit goes back their way and they get on their high horse?

What about. What about. What about.

What’s the aim here? Is it just to get shit off your chest that you’re pissed about?

If you want a fans group, you run the biggest one, put it to use.

If you want a Trust that’s affiliated with SD, turn the duck up and change it.

It really is that simple.

Maybe after the 1000th time somebody might take notice, implement it and we will live happily ever after ;)

It only took me about a year of pointing those social media accounts and being told I was completely wrong and it was a conspiracy before they listened.

I run a forum, strangely the Trust think that CCFC fans who post on them have no credibility rather than embracing them. They would rather alienate themselves even more.

We do want a change... we want all parties to be held accountable but apparently one of the board members and candidate thinks we’re all on the SISU payroll or Les Reid.

Once they publicly acknowledge all parties and act equally against all parties they’ll probably get more interaction.

Get a public forum going - accessible to members only, use technology so we can all view the meetings.

Look a bit more professional by not having a piss up on a Monday night as an AGM.

Exactly, once people see that statement coming out about all of them then they will start to unite behind it.

The trouble is, the Trust think people are stupid and if they just send somebody on to post "We hate them all" they will be distracted enough to forget about every other time.

Get a statement of intent put out that everybody can get behind. "We will fuck up anybody it takes to get CCFC back into Coventry" type thing.

Yes people got behind a great initiative but it took someone to do it, not just say wouldn't it be a good idea. Bet he never thought it would be such a success. MMJ is to be greatly applauded for it

The only cause to get behind is bring CCFC back to Coventry

I would doubt numbers at the AGM's over the years have been greatly different, unless there was an invited guest the same night. AGM's and i have done many, tend not to be well attended, it might be apathy or value but as a function of the entity it is more to do with tick boxing legal requirements so people tend not to go

The point about character assassination applied to all no exceptions

What really bothers me is that thanks to them - their view is all the world think we have.

We can’t do anything about it because the media won’t ask HuckerbyDublinWhelan his thoughts on the matter... I’m not a fans trust associated with Supporters direct

To be fair it started with him donating and then others jumping in and he setup the gofundme and it grew from there. There were calls to action which were simple "donate to it or share it on social media so others do".

Yeah people keep saying bring CCFC back to Coventry but what do the Trust want fans to be doing? Keep shouting SISU over and over isn't going to work which is why people don't back it. They missed the boat by pressuring all sides before we even left so they need to do something to get people believing in them don't they? People have slowly lost interest because it's repetitive.

"What do you want us to do?"
"Pressure all sides, do a wasps protest as well as SISU and let them all know not to mess with CCFC"
"SISU protest it is it then"

There needs to be transparency, it isn't 2012 so just shouting "SISU Apologist" doesn't work if they don't have an answer. People just laugh at that now. It's why it was funny when Neil who will be on the board turned straight to that method when he couldn't have a basic discussion and it ended up making him look silly.

Get the Trust out of the bubble and use technology, by no means am I saying open them up to people who aren't constructive aimlessly shouting nonsense either. Never know what could click and what ideas could come from it, rather than just dismissing things out of hand because they were posted on a forum.

Wasn't it "we had meetings with Wasps and CCC to tell them and really pressure them but it was secret".

At the same time they were meeting with Hoffman and Hoffman was getting Wasps on board with the consortium.

The first we knew of any involvement between the Consortium and Wasps was when everyone else found out. We also haven't met the Consortium for several months.

Really? The same as it wasn't a certain person running those social media accounts when you told me I was wrong repeatedly and you didn't know who Roger Ellis was?

When you saw it reported in the coventry hornets article, were you not straight on the phone to ask if it was true?

But you’re still yet to come out and condemn the distressing of Coventry City. I remember The Trust and David Johnson being outraged when a stadium management company was distressed

I have criticised Wasps and CCC as much as anyone recently. As I said on Monday night, Wasps are vermin and CCC have failed who they are meant to represent.

Again CJ this isn’t aimed at you personally, the trust as a whole have refused point blank to condemn wasps since they’ve been here.

You have a board member who openly applauds their actions then is in shock when we rock up at Birmingham. You know aswell as we all do that the conditions laid out by Wasps are ludicrous - so why isn’t the trust releasing statements to the media condemning these terms and making them public?
