Anyone come across Barns Courtney?

I did know one of his songs Glitter and Gold, but he was supporting Elbow in Manchester and unfortunately we missed him, because it took too long for to get to the gig (4 1/2 hrs).

Anyway, been sussing him out and I really like him. Picked this one song here because it transcends all genres I would say, and I think if you like rock you are just as much likely to like this as you would if you were into indie.

I love it.

Enjoy.

I have his "The Attractions of Youth" album. Really like his stuff. It was my missus that got me listening to him at first.

Watched the Sabbath program the other night, end to end. Their final show in Brum. Very Enjoyable.

Next night watched a 1989 pet shop boys concert, pretty good, followed by a few the KLF videos.

Been listening to the cure a lot recently.

Bit of a mix there.. :emoji_laughing:

I never thought I'd hear Johnny Cash on Planet Rock. But several times they've played his version of Nine Inch Nails track Hurt. It is brilliant though, and the video him and his wife did to accompany the song is great too.

Probably the greatest cover version ever B.
I've just done a new Rockblock for Planet Rock. The theme I used was my favourite cover versions, this is on my list. Have you heard Sounds Of Silence by Disturbed ?
Awesome. 20 tracks ain't easy, but managed it in the end. Had a great time researching and listening to tracks !

Sat in my Dad's garden with a beer listening to the Specials playing live. He lives next to Wollaton Park in Nottingham so we can hear them on the main stage at Splendour festival
My mate went with his missus. He's a massive Manic Street Preachers fan who headlined. He said the Specials went down well, and in the crowd was a Sky Blues flag /banner flying !

Often think about doing that - do they tell you when it’s on ! If so let me know when yours is on or list the tracks and from what I know I reckon I will have a good proportion

I have, and quite liked it considering they're not my type of band.
I love Bruce Springsteens dancing in the dark by Hot Chip which I don't think would be your cup of tea.
He Jams That's entertainment Morrisey is another favourite of mine and I once heard a superb version of Talking heads once in a lifetime by a girl on a harp though I've never been able to track it down so if anyone can help!!

I've had about 7 Rockblocks featured on there in about 2 years. I enjoy doing them and they seem to like my choices. They say they will contact you but never do, so you just tune in every night and 1pm on Saturdays.
I've had people say they want to do a Rockblock but never do for some reason, it's easy enough. Just list 20 tracks you Like, and give a comment on why etc and that's it.

I like to have a thread to my 20 tracks. I've used the thread of bands I've never seen, favourite tracks from American acts, female artists, colours, and animals. Great fun compiling them !
