SISU Going BUST !!!!!!!!! (4 Viewers)

There will always be some people who root for the bad guy, even more so if it annoys people who don't like the aforementioned bad guys.

This is an idiotic comment, and just serves to drive a divide amongst fans which DOES NOT exist.

Is there really a CCFC fan out there that cannot see that SISU are a bunch of clueless wankers??? No.

What folk who have a grasp of issue resolution are saying (and this also applies to Andy Thorn's comments on Tuesday which have split opinion) is that there are many factors at work in explaining our demise....it's a case of placing these in a hierarchy of significance....here's a selection of the root causes of our current plight (some are long term/short term, some are on/off the pitch etc)...you can all sort out which one(s) are the most significant...

  • The 'Washington Diplomat' project
  • Jimmy Hill's all-seater stadium plans and lost fans in the 80s
  • Failure to build upon the 87 Cup win
  • Robinson/McGinnity/Richardson era of the 90s
  • Lack of spending to get us back up in our first season in the Championship
  • Gary McAllister's regime of failure
  • Revolving door of managers
  • And Thorn's inexperience
  • Shit backroom staff...i.e Harrison
  • SISU not having a clue how football works
  • People like Joe Eliiott....what was his part in/knowledge of the 90s asset stripping & SISU takeover which needs identifying if he continues to want to be part of our future....and what he puts in/takes out
  • Wankers like Bell doing fuck all over several years as one of our senior 'pros'

Take you pick of the above/add to the list...or whatever you want....buy please do not post stupid comments such as CCFC fans rooting for SISU, you are just making yourself look a fool...which I know that you are not.

The most logical, correct and factually based opinion of read on this site for a long time. Take a bow son.

Agreed, Brighton, but that was the gamble needed to get back up.....

Anyway, was it £60m???? It's £40m now isn't it....and the debt has supposedly risen in recent years....?

Good post you are right and there are a few issues and it is a case of which of those people believe played a more dominate role.

Myself I think that when SISU took over 5 years ago they would or certainly should have been fully briefed and fully aware of all the previous stuff that has gone on before them.

They would or certainly should have been fully briefed on Cov's finances.

They would or certainly should have spoken to Coventry City Council about what the situation is in terms of ascertaining the stadium.

When you look at the clubs finances it would have been clear that that ascertaining the stadium would have been the most vital factor to make their project a success. So without a guarantee that they could buy the stadium they should not have taken on the project.

I did not think they got those assurances first and if I had entrusted them to invest my millions I would be looking to sue them for corporate negligence. It is not possible to stem that debt and balance those books without owning part or all of that stadium.

Also since they have become aware that the council are not happy with them what have they done to resolve this most critical issue?

Hence for me the relevant history when you are looking for the dominate factor to blame for our current situation stops 5 years ago. As they took a fresh look at everything and took on the project. They announced that in 3 years we would own our stadium and be in the premiership.

5 years later not only have we not gone up, we have gone down a division and are not better financially and do not own our stadium.

I don't think all the other factors such as Richardson etc.. have suddenly sneaked up on SISU and caused them to fail. They were aware of all of that and still believed it was possible to go up. They have failed catastrophically.

You are bang on their are a multitude of reasons. Some are more important than others, and it is different people views which is more important.
Some think the past, some think the players, some think Andy Thorn, some think SISU.

SISU have been there for 4 managers are they all bad I am not so sure?

I think you have done a cracking post but I would also put Fatswood as the named senior pro over Bell :)

I don't think I am making myself look a fool LBB-read some of the opinions of those on here who genuinely think that everything SISU have done is correct, and how us the fans are to blame more than them. But if you think I'm a fool, fine. Good for you, pal.

I really think that most of the things you list make up about 5% of the reason for our relegation. Washington Diplomats? C'mon. It's 2012!

only thing i want to hear from any of them is that the club is financially secure for the forseeable future.

I think they'll publish the accounts soon, now they know the score. They were just waiting to see what the sums would be like to keep the club afloat next year.

However, the crucial thing is what will the playing squad look like come August, will it be competetive or a joke?

So decisions made in the past have no bearing on our current plight?

Strange that, I've read that you blame (correctly) decisions made during Richardson era etc...

If you read my post it DOES state that each fan will select their reason(s) for our demise and attach the LEVEL of blame accordingly.

So what are the other 95% of reasons which I haven't listed...that would be very enlightening for all......

I'm not sure you get that...but let's move on.:thinking about:
