What was the crowd vs Southend last season?

So a 43% drop.I know it's hard to predict an average for the season but if this is comparable, any idea what that means for us financially? I am trying to get a rough idea what Robins may have left over from the sales of Baylis/Chaplin.Only a guess.

It was a christmas game though, but still a big drop.

Yes so you have the traditional Christmas higher attendance, but the average last year was over 12k.

Car Parking - Im in the Kop Car Park, easy to park, although spaces are on the small side.

Turnstile - Oh god these are small, I though it was just me, but loads were complaining about the size.

Stewards - found them to be good, happy to talk, smiled, great to see so much better than the idiots at Ricoh who are spoiling for an argument.

Seats - I'm in block 33, view is good, but seat size is smaller than Ricoh, and very flimsy.

View of Game - This was spoilt by people standing in the gangways and the 3 grown adults in the back row to the block to the right of us, who stood the whole game blocking the view of those around us of the near touchline - WHY???

Leaving ground - Had to wait for road closures to be lifted, not an issue on a sunny day, but mid-winter it might be different. once out was a decent run back to Cov, back by 18.00.

Overall a good experience, not one I want, but if we can't play in Cov, then I will accept this for now.

What I am trying to work out is approximately what is the move is costing us in terms of a drop in revenue. Robins said he couldnt say how much was available to him from the sales due to the move. So I am trying to work out out has it cost us around 3 million or will he get some change?

Right so 5400 was us and Southend had a 1000k so yes still roughly 50%.
I am trying to work out what Robins will be left with from the reported 3 million (roughly). If the groundshare is the issue to him getting a share of the money. Trying to get an idea of what the groundshare will actually cost us and what he may have left over to play with. Although I do think if we have a successful season the attendance will rise.

Tricky one to try to work out as there are loads of other factors... season tickets/match tickets cheaper this season too... things like sponsorship deals, difference in rent (higher) but increased F&B revenues etc...
BUT, what you are trying to work out in terms of obvious losses is exactly why it baffles me that many "die hard city fans.. #pusb, city til I die etc" adopt the ridiculous "away games only" stance... absolutely non sensical ridiculous idiocy, costing your own team to financially benefit rival teams...

Sat towards the front of block 35, too much arguing over seats and people standing up for my liking, so although the atmosphere was good will sit somewhere else next time. Also people constantly wandering up and down the stairs, I missed the tranquility of block 20. Didn't need barcodes on the tickets in the end either, unless they are going to scan the bits they ripped off later. Did season tickets get scanned?

No. The turnstile operator just looked at my card.

I enjoyed it today, went on the train as the boys like the adventure. Met Jamie Allen before the game which was nice as my younger son had his name in his shirt and he said it was the first one he had seen.

When we got near the ground I did think imagine how much local business has gained there and around the Ricoh list.

Yes a hell of a lot of variables the only one we can calculate I suppose is attendence.

Bizarre feeling as I enjoyed today and delighted with the win, it wasn’t a home game and playing in Birmingham will never be a home game.

It felt very much like an away game.

Was surprised there was no singing or anything regarding us wanting to go home, or at least non I could hear. Call it supporting the team or call it apathy and accepting our situation, I just expected some form of making senior management know (before the game, at half time etc) that we don’t want to be there and want to be in Coventry.

Pros.
it actually didn't take much longer to get home than the ricoh, being able to park close to the stadium meant being on the road quick. The atmosphere was decent.

Cons.
I was sat in block 35, it was overcrowded due to them not opening block 37. Also we was on the front row of the upper and there were a few refusing to sit down and blocking the view of young kids sat near by. It felt like an away game, with a lads on the all dayer. I'm sure this will ease off once it gets into winter. Queues in the concourse were massive so I didn't even bother. The area around the stadium is a dump.

I will be back for the next home game but probably sit in another area of the stand. I'm sure after a few games they will sort out a few issues and everyone can work out where they are going etc.

Proper ground - dodgy area around ground. Loved it! Afraid this confirms everything why I hate the RICOH - never gonna happen but we need a ground in the centre of the city......... great pubs on walk from new street , basically a much better match day experience.

Couple points I was surprised about - Stewards waved me through turnstiles- didn’t bother checking season ticket. Also a cash only ground!

Good day to be fair!

Had no problems getting in the ground all the stewards were very helpful inside the ground also! Refreshing to see.

Got the train to new street then 5 minute walk to Moore street then return to bordsley (2 minute train)

Very good atmosphere inside the ground to be fair, thought mcfazden is one hell of a centre back didn’t stop talking, getting the defence out and organising.

Westbrooke has filled Bayliss boots already (didnt think there was much between the two last season to be fair) on another day if Shipley scored his chance and Jordy finished his chance round the keeper he would have been walking away with a goal and two assists. Very good performance.

Mason comments I agree with also looked very solid today. Thought dabo struggled at times especially in the air, but hopefully will grow in to it the more games he plays.

Really enjoyed it yesterday, was like being back at highfield road.

On the Bedworth supporters coach which only took 30 mins to get to the ground. Few beers in the roost which had a good vibe.

Atmosphere in the ground was no worse than the Ricoh. Food and drink was busy but again no worse than the shocking service at the Ricoh.

Don’t want to be in brum but can accept this in the short term. Defo don’t feel like Northampton

I think wasps put a stop to that. More Coventry businesses screwed by wasps and the council.
