So we now have the situation , of Wasps moved to Coventry to put down roots and grow their revenue(they have more than halved there customers and sponsorship ) the council, reason for getting involved with the stadium was to regenerate that side of the city , now denying, said area 1000s of customers thus doing the opposite , and Sisu who no one knows what there business plan is, other than hoping the EU rule that the sale of the RIOCH was state aid , but that could take years , in the mean time between 6 and 10 thousand fans have money just waiting to spend on all of the above , Need some one like Clive Ekain , to chair a meeting , not laying blame (as we are where we are ) giving all a chance to put a business case to get back to the Rioch, the Eu ruling cant be stopped , so the council and Wasps need to take the money that's on offer, before the 6000 missing fans become 4000s ect, whats needed now is a P/R exercise for them all to save face and common sense, or business sense to take hold

Squad wise, we need a striker and a ACM

Politics for the sub forum
In fairness this was discussed when the politics sub forum was started. I personally found it a pain to keep checking in there daily. Appreciate using the "off topic" and "other sports" to keep things from getting too crowded, but I find it much more convenient to keep this sort of thing in the general thread - it is actually CCFC related, unlike other off topic stuff, especially as there is always some crap going on "off the field".

The BBC charter boasts of impartiality so its only right they should try and call all sides to have a public debate. I'd welcome Clive having a go, he seems to have no axe to grind ulike some of the other staff.

Leave Gregor Rioch out of it, he’s innocent.

Joking aside, probably not a bad idea, but we know how certain media outlets are when it comes to potentially upsetting certain rugby clubs... they tend to shy away from anything meaningful.

Good idea, though the last person you'd want chairing it is Clive.

Good idea, but I think it should be someone along the lines of a Jeremy Paxman style interviewer to do the questioning, no way will anyone from CWR, CT or other local media press enough - they would just kowtow to the egos they were interviewing.

It’s been done to death ffs.
Council plead innocence and “want the best for the people of the city and had no choice but to invite Wasps” etc etc

Wasps came to the city to spread their wings and involve the community blah blah...

Sisu could not sustain £1.2M a year rent deal and the sale to Wasps was against EU rules etc....

How on earth is a slot on a washed up radio station going to change anyone’s stance?
We are where we are and until one of the parties is under so much financial strain that they drastically change their stance this will continue full stop!
Do we have to do this argument again and again every week?

Maybe you're right coab, but if we just sit back and wait then it disappears into the background, whereas this is another way of making the various parties aware we're not happy with the status quo. Also I'd love someone to ask CCC/Wasps/SISU the really difficult questions they continually get a free ride from local media on e.g. why was that council meeting behind closed doors and no minutes taken? which sites exactly have the council refused to discuss with the club? etc

Just my opinion.

Agreed, this thread does seem like it's covering old ground. It's a shit show and we all know it, but there's only so many threads you can have on this topic that's already been done to death on this forum.

The correct place for this discussion was the meeting arranged for all parties in the Houses of Parliament by the then Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and Kenilworth MP Jeremy Wright. But the fucking council declined to send a single elected member, let alone the Leader (George Duggins) who was invited.

To have clueless Clive asking the questions on CW would be a fucking joke. He'd keep getting their names wrong for starters. But investigative journalist he AIN'T. Why not get Legohead involved while you're about it? I'm sure he'd be balanced .....

Now the EU have the claim it can’t be reversed so until a decision is made we are in a stalemate unless CCFC agree to cover the costs of a successful appeal against Wasps in the region of £27M

The figure amounting to State Aid will be decided by the European Commission. Anyone else's opinion is pure guesswork, I'm afraid.

You have completely missed the point, we all know how we got here , the point is they are all in business and at he moment they are on a race to the bottom , someone will eventually go under as you say , but as business people they could walk to the bottom , not run , the point of the washed up radio show is to enable all to save a little face as that's seems to be the fuel to the fire at the moment , I never said change anyone's stance , just change the tone ,as Brody said in the program the were that close to agreeing a deal , just seems that its business v ego keeping us in brum , help tone down the ego , I said Clive as he is very good at putting questions with the ready made answers which could help the tone , ie Mark you have just got to Wembley twice are you happy ? as oppose to , you reached Wembley for the second time but you were hanging on a bit at the end ? same question different slant , different answer from the manager and different mind set

Forget it, the seasons started ffs.

I think people are missing the point of the OP, or perhaps I am.

But isn't Wince asking them to specifically talk about the increasing financial hardship both parties are suffering and the rumours regarding growing unhappiness among their commercial partners.

Not entirely new issues but issues that have taken on a slightly different dynamic over the last few months.

Similar to some of my comments on another threads - The parties need to start talking to the fans and advising them of a concrete future laid out - In CCFC case back to the Ricoh or a new stadium (doubtful) site announced - 10 of us have shared a box at St Andrew's but this will be the only season as the continued silent treatment will only work for a short period as our response is with our feet as going forward we will join the others in boycotting

Your STILL of the opinion that all parties involved give a flying monkeys fuck about the fans........ wake up man ffs! They don’t give a shit about the fans.

This fiasco is going to rumble on and on until one side (or more than one side) goes under. It’s as simple as that. It’s no longer about revenue or income, it’s about the right to own the Ricoh.
If ccfc stay away long enough then wasps will go under, and the Ricoh becomes available once again. Either for sale or by a mutually agreed rent which suits ccfc.
If that dosnt happen soon, then ccfc can build their own stadium, and wasps AND the Ricoh stadium go under.

Wasps on the other hand will hope that pressure from the fans will force ccfc back around the table to beg for a rental deal that will be loaded in wasps favour.

For anyone to think that this whole sorry fiasco can be solved in a meeting over a cup of tea and a cucumber sandwich is naive beyond belief, and shows what a poor grasp of business reality some people still have.

Not talking about solving the RIOCH crisis , , just getting back from brum so they can al carry on fighting , but still making a bit on money , Think you will find that's how Business works , Remember Joy said she would never come back (she did), Wasp said the we could not play ,while the legals were going on (we did) you know best though

It’s now all about the Ricoh. Your living in a little fantasy world all of your own.
