They are asking if their club has been taken over so the players and staff can get paid and they can continue playing in their home and in league one. The saying they are quoting was said by one, let’s say more vocal of their fans

Are they? There's a few comments on twitter, and the odd crazy one, but Bolton fans aren't exactly jumping through hoops about it either. Did you see the meltdown they had over the ticket prices! I'm sure every set of fans would be annoyed, especially if you had booked a train etc.

Or if you are waiting to book and train and have seen it increase by 3/4 quid a day for the past week.

Any away following we were gonna take is dwindling by the hour. Dodgy situation. Some people still suggest it’s price revision but I can’t see that taking 24+ hours. Good luck to Bolton whatever it is. I’d go for rearrangement personally. Can they pull out after already giving assurances re go ahead?

Amazing with how much money is in the sport that it can be in such a mess than it is at the moment.

I suppose that’s exactly the reason why it’s in a mess, the money !

Id rather, selfishly play Bolton now.

Nah play them now while they are in a mess rather than in a few months if a takeover has gone through and they have signed players.

If it is because Ticketmaster are refusing to play ball because of monies owed to them as is rumoured, you can see why that is holding everything up, but you'd have thought they might have considered this a while ago.

I'm wondering what the latest they can leave it is. I've no doubt the TM servers will be able to handle the demand, not likely to be more than 10K buying which is nothing really, so it is all still possible, but less likely by the minute. Personally, would rather play the game behind closed doors at this stage.

If it doesn't go ahead, i hope the EFL are looking at issuing a further penalty. They are obliged to honour the fixture list. It should not be held behind closed doors.

There is reasonable allowance for Bolton being in administration and therefore doing things a bit differently. However, no real excuse for the piss poor communication.

I agree at this point it's all a bit silly.

No reason whatsoever to have not updated supporters of both clubs at 9am this morning even without any progress

The game should be called off and the points awarded, they are stalling to get it postponed so they can get in more players for a later fixture

Not even during our darkest moments have the club cut themselves off from the fans the way Bolton have. It's insane really. It's all too much for this one:

Such a massive shame that’s it come to this. Their problems are bigger than us losing out on an away day. In saying that, the game should be played or we get the 3 points. Any rescheduled fixture would put us at a disadvantage.

Tbh as much as I laugh at some of our fans treating it as life or death almost, I totally understand his anger.

That thought had crossed my mind. Delay the game deliberately while the takeover gets over the line, get first team players outstanding wages sorted, get more first team players back in the squad and play the fixture with a stronger team at a later date. Threaten them with a further 3 point deduction if the game doesn’t go ahead. They’ve already proven that they can field a team.

Surely only the EFL can sanction a postponement, if Bolton fail to fulfil the fixture, especially this late in the day we'll be awarded the 3 points.

Radio silence from the EFL over this, how can they not even be making statements on one of their games due to take place in 48 hours with no tickets on sale. Not even a "we are working with all parties to ensure....."
