I'll reply in 4/5 years when the majority of those have given up on football or playing in the National League.

Fine. I'll put a reminder on my calendar, 10th August 2023. We'll discuss this then.

The denial seems to be people trying the hardest to be outraged by it.
Nick, serious question, is that a good result given all the circumstances? If not why? It is a poor result against youth players when we have experienced players and apparently better players, if we are ever going to get near the playoffs u have to beat teams with preparation like this who had no chance to prepare properly, we have the preparation and these players for Bolton never even knew yesterday if they would be playing or not, I’m not slating the team just saying it’s a poor result

Oggy may be a legend but boy is he boring.
" we played some good football today"
Yeah fine but a 17 yr old in goal, 28 shots only 7 on target and unable to take advantage.

But I accept it will be a blip and we will push on. My worry is we need a good start from the first 6 games and be up there not fighting from behind.

With the good things I’ve heard about Jamie Allen, he’s got his work cut out for him - that really wasn’t an impressive display today. 3-0 would’ve been totally flattering. Bolton’s kids should be proud, they held their own and had a few go’s at us.

We have to really hope that Dabo improves as Sterling did. We’ll be in trouble if he doesn’t. You can talk about 2 clean sheets. But a crap Southend and Bolton kids should bring you back down to earth.

No, it is a poor result.

Why? The officials took 4 goals off us.

You said they weren't, why won't you tell me?

I couldn't tell from where I was standing. Whether the decisions were right or wrong we didn't create enough to justify three points today.

We created enough chances to win the game three times over. Full stop.

Because I have posted replays and screenshots that show they weren't offside.

He is deluded then.

We were poor today, goals disallowed or not we didn't create enough.

You're right, he is deluded. I would believe an anonymous bloke on a forum rather than a professional who has spent 40 years in the game. They should have you and a few others on here giving their incisive view instead. You'd be spot on all the time. No, EVERY time.

Baka and Hiwula performances were absolutely pathetic. What an opportunity for them to get off the mark. Both of them barely broke a sweat.

You’re joking, right? We created chances. This “we didn’t create enough to justify 3 points” is just bullshit cliche. We’re shit at finishing. We know that. But if we’d got the 3 points today we’d have deserved them. In fact, we should’ve won. At least one of those offside goals was good. I’m pissed, I want to win, but I’m not going to overreact 2 games in.

Let's wait and see then

The singular result is bad, plus the indication that we're not anywhere near solving our goal scoring problems. That is my issue.

Early days Faz. Our most creative force Allen will be on the pitch soon. Godden in a short debut looked very dangerous to me - excellent movement, great in the air and direct. Will score lots for us. Jobello didn't have a complete game but he can whip in highly decent crosses. Add in 1-2 high quality loans and let's see what happens.

Bottom line. Bolton kids played a blinder against us. Roughed is up and we’re tenacious. They deserved a point. Yes we had goals disallowed but it was clear to see we lack creativity going forward.

Write that one off. Learn from the mistakes and go again next time. No way will I be making excuses for that though. Lots to learn. I'm sure Robins will have them working their arses off next week.

In fairness nick we lost to a championship/league one youth team. If’s and buts and poor refereeing aside, they should have been put to the sword and no opportunities to have goals disallowed
