Why 433 won't work for us in its current form (3 Viewers)

Nothing you have written is correct.

I'm not even convinced we are playing 433.

Liverpool work because they have no strikers, its 3 CAMs - backed up by hard working central midfielders and with width provided by the wing backs.

We dont necessarily need the wingers to come in, if the central midfielders get into the box. Which I'd suggest is what Allen was bought in to do and what Shipley will be asked to do.

This then leaves Kelly to drop back and gives us a pivot point, from which he can push the ball around.

The full backs then can come higher up the pitch and tuck inside the wingers or put balls into the box from deep.

This would give us 5 attackers in the final third, 7 if you count fullbacks.

There are a multitude of ways of skinning a cat and Mark Robin's has a perfectly good way of looking to do it.

Liverpool also play a very high press and a Klopp style Gegenpress - this is something we are simply not good enough to do.

This means we can't push our full backs as high as liverpool, if you want to use them as an example.

We also dont have the quality in attacking midfielders to play a false 9 like firmino or play the intricate 2 touch football in the box that liverpool do.

You've said what I've said is incorrect, then proceed to say the fullbacks get forward whip crosses in, the midfielders back up the front 3.... Which is what I said we need to do... Or am I missing something

Yesterday Hiwula scored 2 goals because he acted as an inside forward, whilst the fullback got forward?

So you're telling me that 3 players who have played CAM, RW and LW throughout their careers are now strikers?

Just because they are the furthest forward players it doesnt make them strikers.

They play 6 midfielders - 3 Attacking midfielders, 2 hard working ball winners with the ability to play passes and 1 almost out and out ball winner.

The whole way Klopps team works is to have everyone hustle to get the ball back, with particular focus on the true central midfielders to win the centre of the park. They are just hard working, nothing special.

Alexander-Arnold and Robertson push forward at every opportunity, beyond the opposition 18 yard line, outside of the box.

We set up typically with the wingers still wide and forward, Dabo's dribble and pass yesterday was into the space between the winger and striker and from deep - not wide and outside like Liverpools wingbacks.

This is the difference I'm trying to point out. Rather than tucking Jobello into the box and going outside with the overlap, we stay wide with the wingers and put the ball inside to the other players. Either runners from midfield or the fullbacks.

I am not saying we wont put our fullbacks forward, but we wont see them getting to the byline or much beyond the 18 yard box. They will on occasion, obviously, but typically they'll tuck inside the wingers or stay deeper than the wingers and put crosses in diagonally.

It would be a lot easier to explain this with diagrams, but I'm not invested enough in an online forum to do it!

We’ve played Southend who stayed up in the last min last season Bolton’s kids & league 2 Exeter let’s see how it fairs against the better sides in the division.

When we get everyone FIT the team will be stronger and better .

I'm saying that when they set up in a 433, they are playing as rw lw and a st/cf

Probably better like it has previous seasons. We always seem to play better against the better teams as they allow us more space. We struggle against the teams down the bottom who sit back.

I've never said that liverpool dont do that.

My main points are that by using your wide players and full backs differently - we can still run a successful system.

Your argument was that we are playing it wrong because we dont play like liverpool.
